Halogen lights on a $65K truck… I’m dumbstruck 😕.

Ford F150 for me

Picked up my first truck… did a lot of research and it was the F150, Silverado, and the RAM third of last. This came from independent mechanics as well these type of research! Thanks for your post. I bought the f150 Lariat model!

By the way, I do appreciate your always (mostly) unbiased reviews :)

Im a Silverado guy but they all are great looking trucks.

Agree, Ram feels the smoothest and most stable. The Chevy does have some nice touches(the engine not being one…) the Ford has the best mirrors and some of the box items I like. But again…in this half ton segment I also like driving the Ram. This coming from a guy that is driving a 2021 F350. Honest opinion.

I was a F-150 fan boy from the time I started driving in 1969. I owned quite a few, my last being a '13 Platinum (nice truck), and all were great trucks. I needed a new truck in '22 (yeah, bad timing for sure). My local Ford dealer couldn't promise me anything, not even is he could get a new truck. So, I went to my local Ram dealer, and surprisingly got a very good deal. Also got everything I needed on the truck. I will say the Ram 1500 is the best driving, riding, and quietest truck I've ever owned. Great comparison video Ben. It would be a hard choice for someone buying their first truck, as all those are great looking trucks.

The newer F150 ride much better than the 2013 model. I have a 2019 Limited f150. I drive everything out there. The best and quietist ride was the Ford.

If numbers mean anything the Ford F-150 has been the best selling truck for many years.

They don’t mean anything when the numbers are manipulated. It is NOT the best selling half ton and hasn’t been for years. Ford combines all F-Series sales into one sales figure, that means F-250 and F-350 sales are included and that’s how they get “Best Selling Truck”. General Motors T-1XX half ton platform far outsells it. Stop being force fed advertisements and believing them instead of doing your own diligence.

I personally choose the Chevy.looks nice and I got my 24 for a good deal

I liked the way the Silverado looked but road rough and seats were uncomfortable.

All 3 are neat trucks, but all 3 have there hiccups and that makes a hard choice to pick at these price points ... Ty for sharing.

i just bought a 2023 Ford F150 a week ago and i love it!!!! it has been the truck i have always wanted since i was little. But if i could own the ram and chevy i would! 😂😂😂

After trying the 3.5 EB, the decision was clear.

I wish Ram would ditch some of the old style interior design they've been holding on to for awhile now. They are locked into this interior design that I think is easily dated, I also hate that portrait style infotainment system.

Ha ha. I'm a Chevy fan boy, at least they locked into a nice interior where Chevy was locked into a bad interior till 22. Which is the year I bought from my 16

I was always a Dodge Ram guy, they've improved a lot since the third gen that I owned. But they're kind of adding some goofy modern features I'm not a fan of, I don't really care for push button start and I certainly don't care to shift gears by turning a dial. That and they've lost that signature mean looking grill These days I prefer the F-150

Curiously I have the 5.0 V-8 in my F-150 and wonder why all 3 trucks weren't matched with V-8's. Isn't it still available?

For me, I like the inside of the f150 (no cylinder deactivation, most torque and most fuel efficient) the best. If you can get A plan pricing and know how to negotiate, the ford could be similar price as the Silverado. Reliability wise, I owned a 2001 f150 with 900k miles and a 2020 eco boost with 50k and neither gave me any issues. I did have to replace the tranny one time in the 2001. Chevy has lifter issues (cylinder deactivation with dfm) and ram has manifold and hemi tick. So all American vehicles are roughly similar reliability wise. GM Extended warranty the max they willing to cover is 100k miles for 6 years. ford protect esp goes up to 175k miles and 8 years. Ram is 120k miles and 8 years as well. Ford offers many online dealer to add it on while ram and Chevy prefer you to buy it in person or during the sale.

@@davidcmatsonyou are correct, the 2024 3.5L Ecoboost does have cylinder deactivation technology, can shut off half it’s cylinders.

Ford is definitely the best-built truck of the three and the "premium" product, which is why it's the most expensive. Often, you can get a Silverado or RAM for $10k less with more features and better trim. I'm personally really drawn to the RAM brand, but I wish Stellantis would fix some of its quality issues. I do really like the look of the Silverado, though.

I'll take a Chevy or a GMC

I have a ram but I love the ford

This review would’ve been absolutely perfect if that f150 had the V8. Battle of the V8s! (Also sierra looks way better than Silverado)

Easy add on options……… dual exhaust comes with black appearance package

Towing mirrors on a half-ton make a huge difference, especially for smaller TTs that only get pulled 5-10 times a year.

Why wouldn't u get the 5.0 on the ford to make it an even comparison

It would have been nice for you to have had the 5.0 V8 in the Ford so all of them had V8's. Would have been a little better of a comparison, in my opinion.

To me this is not a fair comparison. Should’ve had the 5.0 V8 Coyote from Ford. Not the 3.5 V6. 🤦🏾‍♂️

My personal preference is always a GM product... but in this specific group of vehicles I'm going Ram all day.

1. F150 Powerboost Lariat. Generally the most useful for work, fastest one that isn’t a desert truck or an EV (which can’t really do truck stuff). Though that last point will change when the Hurricane hits the Ram. 2. Ram. Rides the best and has a better interior after 2025. 3 and 4. The GM twins. The infotainment is the best, but otherwise they kinda suck.

Chevy's are cheap, and seats uncomfortable, engines are most prone to catastrophic failure. Ram has the best transmission, and best interior (compared to similar priced trucks) they are built in Mexico, to keep price down with all the luxuries. Ford generally leads the truck market, and the others all follow. Ford has best turbo charged engine, the only hybrid. And ford looks the best, you can get super crew with long box. I like ram the best cause it's cheaper and nicer, I don't care that it isn't "built in America" cause I'm from Canada anyways.

I just wish the F150 didn't have the driver and passenger windows dip down for the side mirrors. For some reason I cant stand that. My cousin has one. Other than that I love the truck. The Silverado has small and stiff seating but love the way it drives and looks, but he 5.3 needs more power. I never owned a Ram but test drove one years ago and really liked it. Ford and Ram seats are Very good. Im just scared of getting a Ram due to the quality issues.

Yeah, prices are out of control. You need a 6 figure income to buy a pickup truck these days. It's crazy.

Test drove all of them . The f 150 is soooo much better then the other 2

Ram is Stellantis so no thank you. F150 is a safe purchase for the most part and so is the Silverado.

Not a fare comparison. Chevy should've had 6.2l.

How would that be fair? That's their high output engine knight their most common engine. Most Chevys Don't come with that engine. This was a pretty fair comparison with the exception that the F-150 should have had the 5 l V8.

On the Ram you can jam your fingers easy on the wheel and o shit handle.

I knew from the very first comment you made you would choose the Dodge, if you go back and watch your video your mind was already with doge. With things like saying that it’s very clean it’s more rounded. It’s not so boxy. trucks are trucks, trucks are supposed to be boxy. Don’t get me wrong. I do like the look of the Dodge, but I will never buy a Dodge ever again after my last experience. Vehicle was brand new less than 5 km and already had issues than the service manager ended up telling me that I didn’t know how to drive a truck yet I’ve been driving trucks for the last 20 years. The truck and its first year of owning it I’ve had to spend over $7000 in repairs because they were all not covered under mopar warranty, fuel system issues, exhaust system issues, and just downright leaking, which was still not covered, one thing that Dodge ram will not tell you is your truck is not covered if you go on gravel roads. Is that not what they’re designed for?

In fact “Ram” has one of the worst warranty of all trucks and my personal experience, my truck Ram 3500 had 5 kilometres on is they just delivered it and catastrophic failure and was told it’s not covered under mopar warranty within the first 10 minutes of driving I had to pay $1500 to fix my “DODGE” nice truck!! But I will never get another they don’t stand behind their vehicles

With the ford you really need to get lariat or higher trim. Ford looses a lot in their lower trims. Ford has also been more consistent with their reliability than the other brands. All the brands have their good and bad years. If I’m looking at the lower trims I definitely lean towards the RAM with the 5.7. But a lariat f150 with the 3.5 is the most comfortable towing machine out of the group. The 3.5 just pulls like a diesel, with the 3.0 Silverado / sierra being a close second for towing in my personal opinion. I’d take the RAM as a daily though.

Not on the higher trims. The GM interior might look nice in photos, but the quality is absolutely awful. Ford and Ram have similar quality, but the Ram looks nicer.

I have to go Chevy, ford then the ram, I own a Silverado and by know means that didn’t factor in my decision cause if I picked overall the best truck it’s Toyota and not close for me

My analogy for big 3 truck owners is this: If you buy a GM you value rules and order above all. Stay on the beaten path. If you buy a Ford you value rules but like to bend them and make your own path. If you buy a Dodge, you have an attitude problem.

Best riding truck..Ram..BUT, the suspensions are too soft which results in a better ride & needs replaced way sooner with the awful roads...Ram is nice looking...Ford best all around of the 3...looks good, suspensions are tough & last way longer..Silverado's just butt ugly, unless u live on Mars

Who the fuck cares? If it's made in the USA. That doesn't mean anything. I would rather a Mexican built vehicle where the guy is. Just happy to be making money doing his job. Not some guy working Monday to Friday 8:00 to 5:00. Just dreaming about the weekend. Not paying attention to what he's doing. American built means nothing now. You'd have to be a total idiot to actually purchase a Nissan truck. Gas guzzling poor toe quality and horrible ride. Not to mention ugly as sin

Ford! Bit V6 are trash

All 3 of them suck. Their 8 speed transmissions go early and plus their not even made in North America, at least Toyota makes trucks in North America. I like the older chevs and dodges, the 5.7l and the 5.9 L are the engines ever made.

Hey to break it to your kid but the only one that has an 8-speed is the ram and it's damn near flawless. The other two have a 10-speed transmission. And FYI they are all made in North America. You can keep your Toyota junk unless you're talking about a taco then that's a decent truck. That other thing they build is just a glorified Corolla

There are a bunch of plants that make Silverados. Most of the U.S. sold are made in Flint Michigan, Springfield Ohio, or Ft. Wayne Indiana. However, certain versions are made in Silao Mexico.

Its all overpriced crap, my Ridgeline just topped 260k - just brakes and oil, crap oil and I miss changes constantly.

Because it was comparing three trucks, I'm not saying a lot considering Chevy Silverado was included. It's barely a truck but the tundra is just a glorified Corolla. If you're going to compare a Toyota truck, you should at least bring in the taco. That's the only real truck Toyota makes

That's one of the best features ever added to a truck. No stupid stick. Stuck up in the middle and no ancient column shifter. The dial just makes sense. It's out of the way it's compact and it's something that you very seldom use in your vehicle. So why have it sticking out in the way. Educate yourself kid

I've had a chance to drive these trucks myself. The Ram easily outshines the others. JMHO though.💯
