I grew up a Chevy and Dodge guy. I've never been a big fan of Ford work trucks because I enjoy getting up and moving faster than the ones like in the 90s doing Lawn Maintenanc... Yeah they might have been able to haul more but rarely did we haul more than mowers. Now anything American Made Vehicle Wise. Scares Me. I want something that will last a lifetime and not just 100,000 miles

Thank you Scotty for your hard work - appreciated!! I once owned a 2005 Chevy Avalanche LT which I did really enjoy. But the fuel cost was outrageous. It was a lifestyle truck that never went off-road. Eventually I sold it and used my '92 Caddy Brougham pulling a small Home Depot trailer rental. And even that was once every couple years. I'm over the truck thing now and stick with sedans.

You sure did put time into this. After owning 2 crew cab GMC Sierras since 1994, I just bought a midsize Honda Ridgeline to tow my bass boat. Did I want a midsize truck? No …. But GMC prices were in the mid 60’s & out the door approaching $70,000. I bought a AWD V6 Honda Ridgeline Sport 3 months ago & saved myself $24,000. I’ll get use to it. Kept previous 2 trucks for over 14 yrs each.

It’s just nice to know that there are so many brands with so many configurations of pickups in this country. Personally I like the Toyota brand for reliability and resale value but they don’t have the really big tow haulers. Everybody can buy a truck for their individual needs. I would just recommend not buying one of the new generation model of any brand. Wait for the second or third year to give the manufacturer time to work any problems out and you’ll likely avoid the issues that come with them.

Already made up my mind about trucks but did a nice job in presentation and it is a lot of work. Tow and tongue ratings are always a pain. Worked in the RV industry for decades. Good advice Scotty. Get more than you think you want. Why? Invariably people step up or end up with more and now that truck won't be enough. Surprised you could get a new truck anything for under 25k.

Gas milage is great, smooth ride, pretty roomy inside for a smaller truck, I hear they can tow a fair amount for what it is, its a crew cab and it suits me to a T. Hey Scotty. Love your videos but cannot believe you didn't mention the Honda Ridgeline. There wasn't even a video or a picture of one. It has been the highest rated truck in its class over the years. Its competitve payload numbers and the only truck in its class to be able to lie 4 ft wide building materials flat in its bed allow it to function as a family truck and a mild work truck. I have a 2019 Ridgeline but passed up a Tacoma for better options. Give some more love to the Ridgeline. Keep posting and I'll keep watching.

That's because the Honda Ridgeline ISN'T a truck, it's an suv with the rear top removed and should NEVER be considered anything other than a Japanese Elcamino. Which ISN'T a truck, it's a car with a bed, nothing more.

The best truck you can buy is one that fits your budget and that YOU like. You don’t want to be married to your truck payment. As far as quality goes. I’m a Toyota Tacoma fan and a for fan but everyone is different. UNFORTUNATELY ….. nobody (even Toyota) makes an exceptional quality vehicle in this day and age. I have had a lot of trucks , 3/4 , 1/2 and midsize. I get a new one every year. I prefer midsize because I like to use it for trail riding in the woods and the full size usually does not fit down the trails and exploring I like to do. Bottom line , you work hard for your money and no one pays for it accept you. Don’t try to keep up with the guy next door. You’ll just be unhappy on the long run. Have a great day ✌🏻

When I got my truck the Honda Ridgeline RTL fit my needs. I tested a Ranger and Tacoma but didn’t like them. Also the tacoma seemed to have less power then the Ridgeline and I had more problems getting in and out of it then the Ridgeline. I get 30 mpg on Highway with eco mode on . I do know the ridgeline is basically a Honda pilot with the bed.

I have liked my Nissan Frontier pickups. My 2002 Supercharged King Cab Desert runner gave me 360,000 trouble free miles (and gave my son 100,000 more for a total of 460,000).. My son gave it to his mechanic and it's, still on the road. My 2010 King Cab LE also gave me 360,000 trouble free miles. My current Frontier is a 2016 SV Crew Cab I picked up in 2020 with 50,000 miles. I'm at 80,000 and it has been great. It tows well and drives nicely, though I plan to change out the wheels and tires to 20". I won't touch an EV with a ten foot pole. I like for my trucks to do truck stuff when called upon.
