I’m guessing whether the beloved lionesses are playing Lux or Germany you have to assume you’re playing the best in the world and should treat each match equally, would hate to see the lionesses unprepared for the US match, they have big ego’s and big mouths , I hope we can shut them up with skill! FIFA should make a rule to stop a match in order not to humiliate another team. Don't forget these are national team that represent a country.

San Marino make a great example as they're among the five worst officially ranked teams in the world and they're in a confederation full of giants. The number of goals scored against San Marino by globally top-ranked teams like Germany, England, Belgium, France, etc. is typically between 5 and 8. When England recently beat them 10-0, it was considered remarkable. Double digit scores are extremely rare and impressive in the men's international game, regardless of the teams. In the women's game, double digit scores are almost normal when a powerhouse faces a much lesser team. All it means is that the power differential is much greater in women's football, which doesn't imply a huge amount about the overall quality.

@@sheilaburrowes9081 San Marino once lost 11-0 to the Netherlands and 13-0 to Germany besides the 10-0 against England from last year. How and why is it worse when it happens in women's football? I don't consider San Marino losing to England 0-10 like they did last year to be any better (aka less worse) than England's women national team beating Macedonia's women national team 0-10 but you apparently do.

@@sheilaburrowes9081 you don’t make sense , by your way of thinking after the first 5 England should have stopped playing, just kicked it around for the remaining 70 mins to save embarrassment for Latvia. The facts are countries like Latvia, Luxembourg etc are still developing their womens football leagues and many of the players aren’t full time , a bit like England back in the 80’s up until 2018 it’s been a progressive improvement and those countries still have a way to go. But in this game the England team was using it as a training experience to compete for the whole 90mins continuously looking to score, so when it comes to playing the likes of USWNT / Germany etc we can compete continuously. Latvia was never expecting to score or win the match so their job in the match was to work on their defensive skills / techniques and minimise the number of goals scored. I wouldn’t have said it was an embarrassing loss for them but it was certainly a steep learning curve and shows them what they need to work on. In time they will improve. If the next time they play England and only let in 10 then they have improved! You have to look at things in perspective and relative to the individual team’s situations.

.FIFA, I offer you a rule to stop humiliating weak teams. 10 goals behind we stop the match. After all, it's just sport and a game. No need to humiliate your opponent that much.
