    Yup agreed. You want dealers listing a 16ft trailer for 40k. Get rid of the plywood, and change to Duel pane windows. Plywood roof, and cheap windows its a 25k 16ft box with an almost solid effort. I like the switch to Truma, I like the composite floor, I like the wall build. But then they go full Indiana made dumb and go with the roofing that you find in a $18,000 Wolfpup. 🤦‍♂️

    I was very interested in this trailer because any trailer I’ve ever seen all have water leaks and damage to the interior especially if there’s any wood well it was all going good from the bottom to the walls and then we got to the roof they put wood in it lost interest ASAP on this camper! I mean what the heck it 2022 people make it with no WOOD! Because water WILL find its way in and right after the warranty is up to! 😡

    Should have gone with a fully independent suspension, but then again, this trailer is not really going on anything more than well maintained dirt roads with that construction. Won't last on anything worse than that. Too bad there's so much wood.

    Can you actually buy one now? Or are they still just hyping it? It sounds like the latter. I wanted to buy one so bad in 2021 and then waited and waited and waited some more, until I gave up and went another direction. Maybe 2023 is the year to see one pass in the other direction on the highway. Maybe. Maybe not.

    To be blunt, sweet tires, but they are on a TRAILER. Tread is for traction, that is not a drive wheel. That beefy tire is without function save appearances, it just adds resistance and weight. Love ❤️ it anyway, looks excellent!

    100% disagree on the tire comment above 👆 If you have the 2 same campers on a slippery slope or following tracks one with good tread and one without which one ☝️ do you think is most likely to stay on the road or following the tow vehicle? It doesn’t matter if they are drive tires come on meow 😂

  • @ChopperChad

    Dude no. This is wrong. These tires will provide some traction off road.

    @@nowayoutstp4 - You have a point, they ‘might’ help on a sideways slippery slope, and I wasn’t thinking of downhill braking either… good points!

  • @Erin-Thor

    @Erin-Thor

    Жыл бұрын

    @@ChopperChad - I think you’re confusing grip with traction. As @ZR CARR said above, they might help sideways or downhill on a slippery slope. But for the most part, ‘traction’ is irrelevant on a ‘trailering’ wheel, and there is zero power going to it. Think of it this way… You are in a front wheel drive vehicle going down a snowy/muddy/icy road with limited traction. If you get one of your front right wheels on slippery ground (open diff), you’re stuck. Those beefy tires on the rear are just added weight to pull through the muck. The same is true for trailer wheels, just added weight “for the most part” for your tow vehicle to move, pull through whatever sludge you are trying to cross. While sideways slippage might be marginally reduced, in most cases heavy tread on a trailering wheel is pointless. Sorry, we may have to agree to disagree on this. Now if they ever come out with electric motors on trailer to assist with the boost on demand when needed… SIGN ME UP! That would help! Otherwise tread is just weight, the mud/snow/whatever that gets in between the tread also just adds weight your tow vehicle has to move. When you get stuck, the first thing you do is unhitch to remove the dead weight and come back for your trailer.

    Hike100 is a swing and miss. Can’t wait to find someone to buy mine to get out from under it. No instructions for any of it, and I had no kidding at least half a dozen things break within the first trip. Not sure why it’s advertised as having off-road suspension when the interior can’t even hold up to a smooth gravel road free of potholes without everything falling apart. The bathroom is basically unusable (I'm only 5'10 for reference). We only use it as an absolute emergency, otherwise it's outside like tent camping. The fridge isn't propane so you need a generator 24/7 or are forced to use an ice chest. The "Electric cooler" it comes with isn't battery powered so again you need a generator or running vehicle making it nearly pointless. The ridiculous batwing awning? If I wanted to spend an hour setting up a tent I wouldn't have bought a trailer. The Hike 100 is basically an overweighted towable covered bed with a water pump and heater that dropped my gas mileage to 6MPG. Best part? No dealer near me will even honor the "warranty" for everything that immediately broke since I didn't purchase it here. Winnebago should be ashamed of this one.
