The most underrated feature these days is not hiding climate control behind the touchscreens.

I have a 2020 Limited Prime. This is my 3rd Prius. I like driving small cars. I really don’t mind the looks of it. It’s a Titanium Glow exterior/ black interior. I plug it in at night. The electric only is very peppy. I average 75 MPG. The car stickered for $34,800. The Northeast Region for Toyota had a $4500 rebate on it. Then I got a federal tax rebate for $4502, because it was a plug-in. So I got the car for $26K. It drives nice and smooth. I have a 6 speed Porsche if I need to drive fast. So I’m very happy with my 2020. I’m a car guy. I’ve owned every high end car made. I don’t really care for the shortened rear look of the 23…. I think for the money, Toyota is the best car to own… You guys did a good video, very informative…

It had only 15K miles on it because it spent most of its life in the repair shop. My wife’s Outback is an Awesome car and when it wears out it’ll be replaced with another Outback, but this time it’ll either be an XT Touring or a Wilderness. I’ll never own another Subaru again. How about visibility? Previous Prii were pretty constricted in visibility, especially out back and in the blindspot. With the more rakish profile, this looks like it might be worse. It would be awesome if visibility was a standard in vehicle reviews. So many vehicles these days have high belt lines and narrow rear views. This constricts visibility especially for shorter people.

Personally I'd rather spend same money on a Rav4 hybrid. Much larger, 40mpg, more passenger room (especially headroom and in rear seat room), 8.1" ground clearance and can tow 1750lbs. But for those who live in cities and don't need extra cargo space or rear passenger room Prius might be fine.
Two of my favorite reviewers!
Keep up the great work. And I love the Batmobile t-shirt!
I liked the video until you went on about the clearance. You shouldn't call out clearance numbers if you don't know what you are referencing! Not sure where you're getting 6" from, but Toyota's press release stated the max clearance under NO LOAD is 5.1 to 5.6" depending on trim. 5.6" ground clearance on the Prius is the highest MAXIMUM clearance under NO LOAD while using max size tires! This usually means the measurement is lower under the suspension arms. 5.7" on the E450 is rated as MINIMUM clearance hight while UNDER LOAD! This means the measurement is taken from the lowest underbody part of the car(usually the suspension arms) while there is weight in the cabin to push the car down. This is a more advanced rating used to give more specific measurements during extreme testing. The Prius and E450 have two COMPLETELY different ratings! So to point out the Prius favorably against the E450 means you really don't understand what's going on. Just to compare, the E300 has a 3.8" minimum hight clearance under load, while normal clearance is 5.1". That's almost a 2" difference between the E350 sedan and E450 All-Terrain!

Do we need to squeeze or wiggle the steering wheel every 10-15 seconds for the adaptive cruise control?... or is it capacitive, and just resting one finger on it is enough?

It's interesting how people keep ragging on the 4th gen Prius for its looks. For me personally, it's the third gen that looks like 10 pounds of oats in a 5 pound bag. Luckily, I was able to purchase a 2022 Prius Prime LE (the trim level I desired) a few months ago for $31,124 (before down payment and other fees) since the average price for new vehicles is ridiculous. Compared to the 2004 Sienna I upgraded from the reliability & fuel economy of a new car is appreciated.

For once i can see myself driving this as a daily. AWD a plus plus for me specially been up east.
Last gen Prius was maybe the weirdest looking car since the Aztek. What a design turnaround! Wow.
Finally the Prius looks like a nice 4dr sedan. If we lived in Wenatchee we’d buy the new Prius, but 30 miles away towards Leavenworth, the Prius is simply too low in ground clearance, as we get 5-6 feet of snow every winter. So we’ll just keep driving our Subie’s.
Excellent review as always....thanks
Do all the trims with 19 inch wheels have 6 inches of ground clearance or only if AWD is added? And is the high voltage cable to the rear motor the same as in the RAV4? Worried about the whole cablegate problem but seems like that is different in the Corolla Cross Hyrbid.

That issue has been fixed already in 2022 Rav4 hybrids. All it needed was the plastic cover to have a tiny hole to drain water that collects in there. I replaced mine on my 2019 Rav4 hybrid.
Really cool car! Radio knob on the other side because car is sold in right hand drive markets. Toyota entertainment systems lack split screen. Not as up to date as segment is. It’s not clear why adding a rear electric motor will subtract mileage. Hard to see the dash behind the steering wheel. Didn’t expect Toyota to. Was something,Ike that up. Otherwise this good looking car is a home run. 👍

I had a 2021 rav4 hybrid for a year and 13k miles. It was an xse with the advanced tech package..so sticker was like 38k. I got 42-47mpg with it, and of course it was awd, roomier than this, and better ground clearance. I'd possibly be interested in one of these..but for the price.. I can't justify paying the same amount for this for a few mpg better. I had a 2023 rav4 xse on order, but it was taking too long haha. I sold the one I had because I was offered $5k over msrp for it, and I wanted something with more room and power. Other than that I really didn't have any complaints with it.

Not sure how you get 42-47mpg on Rav4 hybrid when it's rated for 40. You must drive ultra conservative and minimal highway! I have 2019 Rav4 hybrid XSE here in Alberta, Canada (paid $29,349 USD all in) and average 35 mpg in summer and 29 mpg in winter. WOW.. A Prius that looks fast standing still. I REALLY like this design. I think the only complaint is a bit too much flat plastic leading up to the drivers display. Can we get some non moving vents on the display spars? Little hand warming action and it would have a more sporty look instead of blank space. Nice interior. I'd think about getting one if it kept is ability to sip the firewater but with the flip of a switch you get to surprise Tesla owners by staying right next to them with your foot on the floor. Prius Performance Sport... Take my money.

They didn't even other to mirror the controls for the infotainment system. Its originally JDM. The USDM driver seat is left lol
Is this the highest EPA rated mpg for an AWD vehicle ever sold in USA?

The way things have been going with Toyota, will we see this vehicle for sale by 2024? Corolla Cross Hybrid has been very delayed.
I was looking at the Hyundai Ioniq Blue (and the step up trims from that - but not the major Ioniq 5 or 6). How do you compare this car to the Ioniq? Some pages offer different stats here and there but it looks like the Prius AWD gets less MPH than the Ioniq. Toyotas warranty is almost HALF of the Ioniq (5 year for Ioniq, 3 for Toyota… 60,000 miles for Ioniq, 36,000 for Toyota. Ioniq has larger trunk space…. Why would I get this over last years Ioniq then?
