So 10 years from now who is going to want a jumbo patch of David Ortiz from 2023 Topps Sterling? Everyone will be opening Topps Sterling 2033 for $1,000 a box and all of these cards will be forgotten about with little or no demand.

This reminds me of how much I hate what the hobby has become. The average collector can't afford this high end stuff. Yeah it is an amazing product but there's no way I'm dropping that much on one box of that product even if I had an excess of disposable income.

I quit trading baseball/sports cards in 1989. People my age even younger(I was 18) were looking at the values of cards in a book & trading off that.

I'd rather have a $2 card of my favorite player than a bunch of higher end cards of players I don't collect. I have more fun opening those cheap old boxes of wax packs than buying a box of a new product, especially since my main focus is on the players I watched growing up. It's really sad that people get so hung up on "value".
