We are watching history in the making every single contest with these girls! NBDs are being done almost every comp. Were watching girls progression in hypespeed in real time. Most of these girls arent even close to thier full skills yet. These are exciting times for the growth of skateboarding.

It got me thinking about Olympics, specifically gymnasts. The age spread is similar, where women compete at the highest levels much earlier than men, and they also don’t carry their careers as late into adulthood as men. (I’m going off years of anecdotal evidence, I have no citations.) I’m hoping to see all these female skaters doing even better in 10 years, and still able to crush it after another 10, but time will tell.

Tailslide def got a low score, but I completely disagree that imperfect landings should be docked. I think they were doing the right thing in early SLS: if the landing was very dirty, the docked it hard, the trick could get like a 5 that would've gotten a 9 if landed perfectly; but otherwise dirty landings weren't docked at all and got a full score. I like that much more. Skateboarding is not gymnastics. It's hard, it's sketchy, and sometimes sketchiness can look even cooler than a perfect trick. E.g. I'm surprised by Malto's commentary on some of the imperfect landings. Chloe's switch flip had a powerslide, so what? It's so much sicker to see that she landed it first try while not having it on lock like a robot! Thankfully the judges agreed here and didn't lower the score at all.

They robbed funa so hard, at another sls she did a nosebluntslide they docked so many points from her and she didn’t even toe drag she was just wobbly.. she lost to Leal by like 0.3, when she deserved maybe 2 more points.

She was rooting for chloe but you could tell it was so hard on her to be bumped off first place. 1:03:28 she can barely compose herself 1:03:58 was so hard for me to watch you can see she's in anguish after celebrating for Chloe but realising she missed out on 1st again.
