Lamar Jackson played by far the strongest schedule of anyone ranked in the A grade. He beat 10 teams with above .500 win percentage (NFL record) and rested his final game of the season. He even beat the two best teams in the nfc and those were among his “monster performances” that you talked about. He did this missing his number one target for half a season in Mark Andrews. This mvp will be almost like the co mvp Steve McNair won along with manning, people will just see stats and wonder why Payton didn’t take it alone.

Not being a “draft expert” has always been a benefit in my eyes. You don’t get caught up in hype or stuff that just doesn’t matter. I’ve always found with QBs, you can just eye test them a few times and you’ll know if they can play or not. Granted, it’s much easier to say, that guy won’t be good, than it is to say, that guy will be good.

Aidan is an interesting one because of the circumstances. The old coaching staff REALLY loved him and they traded up to get him which to this day I love. They did the research they saw traits they liked they got their guy. Coaching got flipped and he played even better. The last 6 weeks of the year he had 9 tds to one interception. And two interceptions on the season I don't even blame him for. One was Jalen Ramsey making an elite play despite the throw being a dime to Tucker and the other in the same game was a throw away attempt that went straight to the Dlineman. Just bad luck on that one. Other than that he exceeded expectations and from a possibly bias viewpoint he had a really strong finish to the season and showed he can be a starter long term imo or one of the best backups in the league.

  • @Captainbadger123

That’s a fair point about Lamar and it not being a historic MVP season. The big thing people don’t realize is how much he throws other defenses off and how much that strengthens the run game and keeps plays alive.

ive heard both sides on bryce young. the bias panthers fan in me says he could be the future and i want to give him 3 years, and i still stick by that. that being said, he shouldve been better but his supporting cast was way overhyped. Hayden Hurst was knocked silly, Miles Sanders was a bust, Thielan is old. and were there articles that said the panthers had a good foundation? yes. those were mostly from bias reporters on the panthers website that were trying to drum up hype for the upcoming season as all reporters do.

Dobbs in MN was good at first when he was more backyard football and using his legs to get downs. Once he learned more of the playbook he seemed to second guess his choices, and KOC was forcing him to be Cousins when their styles just dont mesh. Instead of leaning into your QB strengths you put him in a position to fail so Kirk can look the best out of the available options

The sad thing about being a great QB is that if you don't win the Super Bowl every year, your great season/career will be discredited by the "choker" narrative. This happens to every star qb not named Mahomes. That why even though I like CJ Stroud, i know everyone will turn on him in about 2 years, just like Lamar and Allen.

Allen’s postseason numbers are absurd though. He’s 1st all time in postseason touchdowns per game, 1st all time in postseason yards per game, and he’s among the top 5 best all time postseason interception percentages. Even ahead of Mahomes in all of those categories. He plays lights out but is cursed with a playoff defense that is literally breaking records with how bad they are. But I guess he’s gonna be labeled a choker until a coach gets fired or he goes to another team. Lamar’s situation is slightly different. His numbers actually do become really poor in the postseason but that’s due to other reasons. For some reason, the Ravens forgot they could run the ball against the Chiefs and were passing every single down when KC was literally only defending the pass game. Zay Flowers single handedly ruining an entire drive didn’t help either. Lamar deserves part of the blame, but certainly not all of it.

B for Jordan Love is nuts. He was the best quarterback easily the last half of the season and carried his team to the playoffs. He should get an A+

I was almost on the verge of tears when you gave pookie a B+, but I’m now turning those tears into tears of joy after finding out he finished with the 3rd highest rating 🎉😅

I don’t comment often cause it’s just Barry’s opinion but having Jalen Hurts with a better grade than Baker Mayfield this year is actually crazy. Cmon man

The one thing about Geno Smith was that he had 7 clutch drives in 2 minute situations. I'd bump him up a half grade for that. But as a Seattle fan, I am mixed on what they should do next year. Part of me thinks they should bring Lock back, keep Smith and draft a QB for the future. But with the end of the Carroll era, who knows what will happen. And as a Seattle fan, I will also say Purdy is very good and clearly the guy who gets how to play the Shanahan system. What exactly else do people want? I hate that he's so good at it, but that's just reality.

I can’t think of anything worse that happened on the goal line for a bird-themed team than Ridder’s fumbles.

Bad take on the fumbles lost being the same as ints, a lot of fumbles are a result of sacks which are typically on the line less than the qb

i think the only reason people don't like Jalen hurts' rushing tds is because of their "brotherly shove" or whatever it's called, meanwhile Josh does more long runs (although both have a pretty good amount of both)

That’s the smartest thing you’ve said that I agree with. Josh Allen runs for 15 yards on a random play and noone can stop him and you don’t know why they don’t do that on every play.

Yes but how many TD's did Jalen Hurts steal from his RBs to have full grown men place each hand on his ass cheeks and push him over the line for a "Rushing" touchdown? I'd imagine he has a lot less than 38 TDs.
