Great review! I love the matte color. I’ve been watching some videos on the upkeep of matte paint though, how do you think it will wear with time?

My GF and I fell in love with the looks of the new Sportage right away. We drove both the X-Pro and SX-Prestige and I can say with confidence that both are excellent choices in my opinion and I doubt anyone buying either one would be disappointed. We're hoping to get the next SX-Prestige that comes to the local dealer as we deiced it's a better fit. Fingers crossed we can walk away for MSRP and skip the $3,200 "market adjustment".

wtf is a market adjustment??? that makes me so mad, I finally decided on this exact hybrid model and keep seeing these mark up prices when it's already an expensive suv here in America, I live in NY, like why are they allowed to do a "market adjustment" that's bs >:(

I wish the SX Prestige offered the FWD too. 5 mpg is pretty big, by seeing the 50 miles difference from the awd to fwd.

I got my EX in Gravity Grey at the end of May and I LOVE it! Huge upgrade from my 2019 Tiguan SE 4motion (which I personally loved) and old 2016 KIA Forte EX (🤮)

My buddy got one(SX Prestige Hybrid)on Friday. Kia was trying to sell him this car at $63,000. Yes, I said $63,000. I’m a very aggressive car buyer and have never over paid. I’ve always paid just over what the dealership pays for the car, which is usually about $250-750 under MSRP. This may be higher depending on the brand, so keep that in mind. Anyways, I told him to call me right away, and I told him to just walk away, as they were trying to get more money out of him, $25,000+ more. He gave me a call back about 30 minutes later, and said that they would give it to him for $42,000, which was just $3-4K over MSRP, and included tax, title, and license. About an hour later, I called to check up on him, only to find out that KIA got him for $52k. I was like “bro, what the hell did you do?” He literally let them walk over him and snatched his lunch money. Then my buddy said that he tried to talk to them, and I was like “no you didn’t because this would have happened if you did what I said. For those that are wondering, this happened here in CA. Don’t let these dealerships tell you “you have” to pay the markups and anything else on the addendum slip, that’s BS.

these dealer mark-ups are sick and I would say find a dealer that does not charge the dealer mark-up fees, they are out there and some are out of state but you can save Thousands.

What is the total length of the cargo space in the back once the back seats are folded? I know you mentioned 74 cubic feet but what is merely the length?I'm 5'7 and im planning to use this for car camping(with a mattress inside) will i be able to fit inside with the back seats folded?Thanks.

@@omardrives I have a CX5 as well and it's not bad but will be swapping for a Tucson Hybrid or Kia Sportage Hybrid (still undecided on HEV vs PHEV). Will eventually go to EV, but the hybrid might be a nice bridge until the charging infrastructure catches up..

The interior & exterior looks very appealing.

I got mine 2 months ago. And I loved it.

Ahh gotcha - i can't seem to find it anywhere in all the Hyundai Kia products I've been reviewing

I like the look and haven't driven one but I work for a car dealership called McGrath that does sell them

I just got the sx-prestige hynrod and I absolutely love it! Also, I noticed that you didnt go over the Kia app for the vehicle, which is awesome! My family loves this car and we have gotten a suprising amount of compliments on it :) ours is the pearl white with the black interior and it is a dream!

Yes! The app is awesome! Unfortunately when we get these cars to test drive - we usually don't get the ability to login to the app and check all that out.

For 2023 affordable SUVs, Sportage Hybrid is my choice. CX-5 turbo is faster, but if I want fast, I'll drive my m240i. The Sportage interior and exterior blow away the Mazda, and everything else in its' price range.

Wish you would touch on the ventilated seats. I live in Phoenix and leather seats SUCK and are completely worthless unless they have cooled, ventilated seats that work very well. How do they work in this vehicle? I've been told that the performance of the ventilated seats varies greatly by manufacturer.

I Went to a nyc dealer to inquire about the sx hybrid, and the lady told me 2 months waiting list plus 4k mark up price, are they nuts 4K more of what the sticker pice is

I wish the Sportage Hybrid SX Prestige had more exterior color options. There's a Wolf Gray and a Steel Gray in other trims. I would prefer those over the really dark gravity gray and the matte finish. The matte gray shown in the video looks really cool, but you can't go through a carwash with it. Hand wash only. Too much of a hassle.

This is my next car

Just ordered blue EX and the navy/off white interior isn't available. Only black. Sucks cause all KZread videos I've seen have that navy interior and you can't even get it

dont forget split screen is available on main screen

After test driving who is who in this category I decided for the sportage 2023. I am impressed for the in and off road performance, the tech package, and the warranty package. It is fun driving and getting better than average fuel efficiency. I have a matte paint and it does take a different type of care. It needs more maintenance to keep its looks but not hard maintenance just more ofen. But it looks amazing. Overall, only time will tell but with over 400 miles of medium hard off road, it isn't a tank, but I am very please. I've made the right choice.

I naturally want to compare this to the RAV4. Compared to the RAV, I like the features better, the look much better, the interior is world's better, as well as the displays. On the other hand, I can't help but thinking in 10 years from now, the RAV4 is still going to be solid and have a very strong resale value. I don't think one can say that about this Kia. Also, I get the impression that Kia dealerships are just one step over buy here, pay here lots and their practices, so that's kind of a turn off as well. I can't help but think these are very pretty throwaway cars.

Traded in my 2018 Sportage SX on this new SX Hybrid. The 2018 was sportier to drive, but this is a 'nicer' ride. Been driving it for 3 weeks, and am absolutely loving it, plus the gas mileage is MUCH better.

It’s asinine the higher trim levels don’t offer wireless Apple CarPlay, especially since to top trim offers wireless charging. They have to see the irony in this.

CX5 isn't a hybrid. I think you should delineate between gas and hybrid in your rankings.

Now, these dealers are adding a $5K to $7K “Convenience Fee”. No thank you.

Its soooo good on the inside. Its the most modern look for the crossovers. Its jus that that new KIA/Hyundai Engines suck and are as unreliable as hell. Every mechanic I have asked has warned me away from both brands. When they get better engines I will consider getting a KIA.

I switched to Kia and Hyundai for our two cars for the past 10 years. I even went to a Lexus and ended up selling it to get the new sportage. I’ve never had an issue with any of my cars. We are heavy commuters and they only ever need oil changes outside of standard maintenance. Not sure why the mechanics say that. We do take good care of our cars but no huge repairs.

The 1.6 Turbo is a very good engine. The recalls were on the 2.4 from the early to mid teens.

The KIA dealer in Santa Rosa tacks on 8000 dls because they could, no Hybrids are available so why not stiff the customers while you can.

I am buying the 2023 Sportage PHEV X-Line Prestige. Hopefully may be another 6 months wait time. But I must say that it doesn't makes sense to have wireless charger without wireless android auto or apple car play. If you are plugging in then who cares about wireless charger. Wireless android auto or apple car play should have been standard.

More power yes but not 38 mpg believe me

Just make sure you get the fire extinguisher add-on if you do get 1, around the same cost like blinker fluid.

The only thing I see is the shift is electric and it takes for ever to go in gear

For me I'm going for mitsubishi eclipse because the interior is better for me and the gas is lower than other suv. The thing idont like in mitsubishi is the space . BTW mitsubishi eclipse is made in Japan

If you tap media then hold media when the page flips to the media page you do get your nature sounds. Kia has not took this out yet....

Here in Australia, we pronounce all those names the same as the Canadians... Maybe it's Americans who pronounce things "funny and different." I guess it's similar to how USA uses imperial measurement and the rest of the world uses metric.

My current brand perceptions of Kia and Hyundai is that their quality control still kind of sucks. They don't test their products to the standards of Toyota or Honda which is why there is always a new engine/transmission recall. For example, there have been complaints about their 2.5l engine that came out a few years ago with oil leakage, about 1 quart a month even. I want a Kia Sportage or Hyundai Tuscon hybrid though and hope I don't get a lemon but I also don't want to pay $2-5k over asking either.

@@Horishnyk I think they are about the same. The reason I went with the Sportage is that it has a spare tire whereas the Tucson does not, and the Kia interior is nicer IMO. The 2025 Tucson refresh looks really nice though, but I can't wait forever for a new car, LOL.

Just a reminder for anyone who gets the matte paint job...do NOT go through an automatic carwash

Why would I buy a Toyota or Honda over this.
