compared to the regular sound system in my 2021 Buick Encore GX, that CRV sounds so much better.

My 2020 CRV EX-L is terrible… sounds like computer speakers. It’s all mids and treble. Also, seems like the back speakers aren’t working. I don’t want big bass just balanced… any ideas I can fix this without spending a fortune

@@greg6162 Replacing speakers and sound deadening doors only with butyl rubber will be a big go to. Sound deadening reduces road noise, resonance, and increases sound quality then for speakers find a speaker that runs loud at low power usage. I use a JBL club 622 though 328w OEM headunit power system 13' CRV EX-L if that helps any. I recommend looking at crutchfield

I would love to see some audio reviews on some used cars with premium systems in addition to the new models. Like a ‘13 b&o system from Audi or Acura ELS. Even if someone is shopping used, audio systems are still a great consideration.

Excited.. just preorderd a crystal black pearl exl at my dealership that I work for.. audio is very important to me, I didn't want the sport touring becuz of its hybrid system. I wanted it's bose system, but if the exl sounds this good I'll be okay.

At least Honda did a slightly better job with the base sound system compared to last year but they need to do a better job of mixing the ranges and providing cleaner bass quality. (At least the bass isn't as badly distorted compared to the Q3 Sonos system but not pleased with how sloppy it is). I wonder how this CR-V Bose audio system compared to the Civic. I was leaning more to a D+ or C- for this base system but not too bad overall.

With the way newer cars have the display instead of a traditional radio unit itself, is it still easy to wire up different speakers and subs and such?

If my Bose QC35 II are anything to go by the CRV sound system is pretty good for a stock radio. From what I can tell the sound is very crisp in the mid ranges but as we might expect it struggles in the lower frequencies and higher volumes. I wonder if a subwoofer can be added to the stock radio or should the entire stock system be scrapped and replaced with an aftermarket system.

the base sound system coming through my airpods sounds okay, it is very boomy and bassy when its just stock with no tweaking which i feel overshadows the other frequencies. but the bass is enjoyable as its not like unclean its still smooth

I'm guessing the base audio system in the Civic sounds pretty much like this one. I really hope you can try review the base audio system on the Mazda3 because every review on KZread has been with the Bose, and unfortunately, we in Malaysia aren't getting our hands on the Bose as they're only exclusive for the Mazda 6 and CX9.

@@RioPutra_ i don’t think so. I asked one of the salesman, and as expected, we can’t spec our cars. Everything is pre-specced, if that makes sense. But I’d love to be wrong on this one.

Hello. Is the infotainment unit a Honda product? I notice there quite similar between the base and the Bose systems. Which components then are are provided by Bose? Or it possible that the base model is still by Bose minus the branding and with less features (and speakers)?

You rated Honda CRV base system as C-tier which mean its on par with Bang & Olufsen of Ford Escape you rated for C-tier also?

I want one for light outdoors stuff.

How new is the car? How many hours on the audio system? Could this review be of a stereo system in its' first few hours? Or has it been run in for 100 hrs before review? Or does the reviewer assume it makes no difference to the viewer?

Is it 9 speaker system or 8? The Honda website says 8.

BOSE will NEVER be an A I think, so your B is the fair grade for the Bose, so I will absolutely accept the C for this one here. I have the 8 speaker non Bose and I have been surprisingly happy. I personally don't like subs and I find PLENTY of bass in this here system. For what it is, I am good with it. It's better than what I had imagined and sounds better than my 2018 Accord Touring. I'm a professional musician and I would have preferred the Bose, but the 19" wheels and the placement of the on/off button for the steering wheel heating was a dealbreaker for me. I can easily live with this non Bose 8 speaker system. It's solid though not "Hi-Fi".

Bose in the Infiniti QX80 is one of the best systems we've ever heard. Bose is capable of great sound, they just often get restricted to a price point.

Honestly it isn’t that bad tho, the volume wasn’t even half but it still sounded good. Good review tho.

No sub??? Are the side speakers tuned for bass??? Where the sub Honda? Is ther an equalizer?

The Rav4 sounds like they used loose ziploc bags for the diaphragm of the speakers. This one sounds way better in person vs the RAV4.

What file formats are recognized?

Nobody knows. Did any of you who praise Bose find what. file formats are recognized on USB? I asked this question 2 months ago. It seems that nobody tried in on Honda CRV Hybrid Spot Touring.

Yeah, but real audophiles will always go aftermarket for a real system, anyways ;) You'll just have to wait a little while for the aftermarket to make a system for it. For the prior years, Pioneer and Polk Audio component system -- with upgraded amp and a sub -- are available. We'll just have to wait a little while for a good system to be available for this model year.

I had Honda Crv’s for nearly 20 yrs. I do not want an EV or hybrid with battery hat needs changing. I had the EX-l model with best Bose system-all music was so clear, booming bass even though volume was low. I am disappointed that the best music system will not be offered on gas models. Think I may have to look at different auto maker. I have had Hondas since 1987 and nothing else, so hate to change now.

Grab a decent pocket flashlight. Just a quick peek with one through most grills and you will see what’s behind there (or not) very easily.

Just got a 2020 Honda CRV-EXL and the audio system is terrible?! No bass… sounds like I’m listening to built in computer speakers. Literally never had a audio system this bad. Seems like only the the front two speakers are firing and there’s no subwoofer or it’s not working. I don’t want bumping bass but I need regular bass levels. Any idea on how I can get a “normal” sounding system in this cheap?

I’m hoping the Bose sounds good. The last decade or two Honda audio quality has been terrible, especially in the (non existent) lower frequencies.

I had a 2014 odyssey exl and recommended 3 family members to get w 2017/2018 crv ex. Functionality these were great cars, but the base audio systems in these cars are horrendous. This is further made worse by the extremely noisy interior. Why can’t Honda make decent audio systems?

@@Wasabi9111 they can, but reserve those for Acura. Meanwhile they are probably losing sales. For perspective our EX-L Oddy sound quality is worse than a base Pacifica. Same for our Sport 2.0t Accord. Worse than the base Mazda 6 audio that it shared the garage with.

The 2020 Honda accord had the worst sound system I’ve ever heard in any car.

This is the worst sounding system I've owned since a 2012 Subaru. There's no mid-range, which is fine if you like listening to Van Halen without guitar. If you put in Thompson Twins 'Hold Me Now' it literally sounds like the car is farting. Other than it's horrific sounding stereo ( A C? lololol only cuz they let you borrow it!) the car is fantastic. I actually bought a 23 and a 24 CRV EX-L because my 23 got stolen and it's a great car other than the stereo. You just have to replace the stereo as soon as possible because you are going to want tor ride in your new car, crank a great song, but you'll wind up turning that S down as fast as you can. But if you like music that sounds like an oldy time radio with distorted bass, this one's for you.

Kind of useless review unless you listen while driving. Heard elsewhere the system sucks at speed.
