So glad someone finally did this head to head. The Taurus, I mean Accord, seems to have been neutered down to fulltime commuter status. Gone are the days of V6s and 2.0Ts, 6MTs and 10ATs, coupes, etc: it's now all about comfort and mpgs. It makes sense; those things sell the most. Just a shame that most of what made the variety in the Accord lineup fun to drive is now gone. Between the two, especially with the nearly equal price, the choice would be a Civic.

The neutering of the Accord makes sense when you look at how Honda is making an Acura push. When the Accord got the 2.0t there was pretty much no point to pay the premium for the Acura TLX. Now Honda has some leverage to upsell people into a TLX if they want the power.

Just bought a new red Civic for my daughter on Monday. We had a 90 mile trip home from the dealer and it was surprisingly great.
What I like about the current Civic is that the size is almost midsize. Perfect for those who find midsize cara too big. The Accord, on the other hand, is too big. I wouldnt feel comfortable driving such a big car around tight places.
I had paddles in my 1.5T accord and I loved it when hauling around backroads. It wasn’t perfect, but it gave me a sense of control. I had an aftermarket intake on my accord and I loved shifting after revving out to a “high RPM” and hearing the fake blow off valve sound.

From the American Perspective, the Accord might look underwhelming from the front, but undeniably it looks elegant and more mature from the European/Universal aspect. I am booking the Hybrid E-xl soon. Thanks again for the fabulous review.
The one feature on the accord I couldn't stand was the door handles. My hand recoiled when I first grabbed them. They feel like painted square 2x2s
I have a white 2017 Honda Accord EX-L V6. I ABOLUTELY LOVE that car. It looks great and has everything I need. The only thing I hate about it is the fixed seat headrest, which is no small thing. It's so uncomfortable. The new Accord doesn't look as good, but I just hope they fixed the seat head rest.
Great video guys. Gotta say, the accord looks so much meaner and cooler and stealthy almost. Love the more modern looking lights. Also I am curious what you guys think about the wireless vs wired apple car play in more depth. Seems to be a lot of controversy between the two options. It seems like many reviewers are split on this.

Great video ! Would love a comparison between civic and integra and accord vs tlx to see if it's worth. I believe you already made a video like this with the older models
Pure contact tires are sooooo good. Not as sporty as the dws but it handles way better in the rain and snow.
We live in Virginia and just purchased a 2024 Civic Touring very similar in look to what you drove. But here there is no heated steering wheel. Our has Goodyear Eagle Sport M+S 235 40R 18s. I use to sell Honda’s & Toyota’s so I know the game. We got out the door for $30K with rear spoiler. I have installed ceramic tint and plan on adding HPD kit and upgrading the cat-back exhaust just for better mellow sound. We are old and don’t really drive fast like we use to. We really liked your comparison review and it was very informative and helpful. I was looking at the Corolla but the Civic crushes it in looks and overall performance. Not felling them hybrids yet. So we jump on this one which may be the last of the 100% ICE Civics. This car is a great value in today’s market and no other compact sedan can touch this one. I do wish it wasn’t a CVT but it is good for our driving habits. They had a Type R in the show room and had it marked up to $67K. Wifey didn’t want that and she was happy with the features and cost of the civic. This is here replacement for her 2000 Avalon XLS which was dying a slow death. Damn she actually cried when we signed over the title. 😢😅
Fun episode. Points for the clip to past time Jakub not loving paddle shifters in a CVT 😁
Here's my problem with the $30k Civic: the Jetta GLI is also $30k and includes heated and cooled seats, a heated steering wheel, dual zone automatic climate control, better handling, a DSG transmission and the 2.0T ea888 gen3, which is an incredible engine. At least the Accord can brag about being bigger...
The accord steering wheel material is straight out of the 90's. Has me missing my 96 civic. Pretty much the only thing i prefer from the Accord. I bought the 2023 civic hatch Sport Touring and now I want that steering wheel lol.

You can just buy premium leather seat covers for the accord for $500. And there are so many minute differences that at the end of the day, the utility of the larger accord wins out for me. Civic can keep the wireless charger, steering wheel warmer and rear heated seats.

@@Ameer_30 doesn't seem too smart for me to compare a full size V8 SUV to a compact sedan with barely a quarter engine displacement🤔 they might don't need the excess🤔🤔
Geez, put a bell or a post-it note on one of them. Can’t tell them apart
Hey Yuri & Jacob, when can we expect a review of the new 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid?
Civic…..because front to back or back to front….I never forget how to spell it. Plus you can get more accessories for a Civic. Well done fellas….another fine video.
Anyone else feel like so much money and effort was put into the Civic this gen, while the Accord was kinda half-assed?

The previous Civic was one of ugliest cars ever manufactured snd very polarizing. Therefore the 11th Gen did make the most progress. The 10th gen road noise and engine note were abysmal and in 11th Gen much improved. The Accord went from sports car to family hauler so it has upset people.

I don't think they put money into the Civic at all. Honda just simply put zero money into the Accord and any other vehicle. They made an econocar interior and then put it every new vehicle since developing it for the Civic. Honda has become the 2020s version of American car companies in the 90s with cutting corners to save money any possible way.

@@suppaman19 Their budgets are in the millions as are tooling costs. Cars don't just pooof magically appear from thin air. This goes for all models as well. Just because the style may be identical, the dimensions are all unique.

@James Medina Honda has been doing this for years, but took it to extreme in the latest generation redesigns. I'm well aware of costs, but there's reasons that even Kia's, etc, don't all look identical on the inside. Honda cut and pasted their interiors across the entire lineup. And they did it with using the cheapest vehicle and design.

Too late, nerds. I just bought a Civic Hatchback 12 hours ago 😎😜
That Accord looks similar to the one I had back in 2002 crazy, Civic is a clear winner when it comes to looks
@thestraightpipes what's that opening song!? It's dope!
As a Honda fan it really sucks seeing how brutal these cars look in this generation
Because of the manual option, the Civic gets my vote Type R

Love the Civic but wish it had tail lights more similar to the Accord

Yeah, the tail lights of those 2 cars should be swapped. But I am ok with the Civic's, it's not bad, just not as sporty look as the Accord's one.
I’m a small person (4’11”), single, with no kids. So I need a small car. I bought the 2023 Honda Civic Touring in January and am SO happy with it! It’s a beautiful car: meteorite metallic gray (with subtle sparkle) with a two-tone black/gray (ivory) interior. Honda has gone back to their design roots with the understated, polished exterior. The interior is semi-luxury now. It’s just an understated but beautiful car with the Honda reliability. It looks so classy. I love it!
I actually like the white with black on the civic, some blacked out rims would make it look great

Idk if western region have this trim but in the east the RS trim have black accesories with black rims
My Giulia came with TuxMats they are awesome. Look great and are very durable. No sign of wear so far in almost a year. Highly recommend instead of oem mats, just save the oem mats for when you sell car later on.
The Civic the Accord and the camera will on my list for a new car. However, I sold a 2016 Civic because it did not have lumbar, and hurt my back on long trips. Of the three cars I think the Civic looks best, but because it does not have lumbar, I have eliminated it. I also think the new Accord looks better than the Camry. But it's three thousand more to get the equivalent hybrid in the Accord than in the Camry. So I'm going to be buying a Camry.
