2022 Yamaha YZ250 TESTED - Motocross Action Magazine

Спорт

#motocross #dirtbike #racing #twostroke
Motocross Action tests the 2022 Yamaha YZ250 Two Stroke at Glen Helen Raceway. Yamaha first went to the aluminum frame in 2005 and in 2006 released the Kayaba SSS suspension that many of us have adored for over a decade. For 2022 Yamaha made some changes to their 2 Stroke lineup including the YZ250. The bike has all new body work, a new sub-frame, Dunlop tires, new gas tank, updated suspension, new air box, new seat, new front number plate, new brakes, and more. Check out what the Motocross Action wrecking crew thought of the new YZ250 on their first day out on this new model. Is it better than the 2021? Will it beat the KTM,GASGAS, Husqvarna? We answer all the questions here in this video!

Dam straight, more than than internet jockeys can handle anyways, I liked what they have done with the 250, sensible updates make it relevant and they concentrated on the 125 first. If needed they can bring those updates to the 250 on later models. 2 ftw.

The yz 250 is the small block chevy of dirt bikes. The engine/chassis doesn't change and there are so many made you'll be able to get parts for it 35 years from now. YZ250 is a good bike. I'm glad they did cosmetic changes and kept the rest the same. It looks really good now.

So i still have my 2020 yz450, but for the first time i just financed a new dirt bike and i got the 2022 yz250x. OH.....MY......GOD! Only one thing to say. Fuggin buy one immediately. I got full pro circuit exhaust, taller pro taoers and risers because im 6'4, and for once i didn't have to change the springs. I went with thicker and more fork oil, more nitrogen in the shock, Michelin starcross tires, best goddamn dirt bike ive ever had in my life i shit you not. I forgot what its like to wring a bikes neck. 450s are so fucking fast you cant get absolutely everythingoutta the bike ya know? Dont get me wrong this thing is a rocket but, you can squeeze every drop of juice out of it and for myself thats right on the edge of being out of control. When the bike and the rider hit the rev limiter at the same time its magic. Im a top 5 guy in the local vet pro class in Reno, Nevada to give you an idea of my skill level.

@@EarthSurferUSA I really appreciate the tech tip bro. These days man all i do is race and crank whips. Plus im a large mammal. 6'4 240 lbs. So i need that bitch stiff af. The stock fork oil was good, ur right it definitely soaked up the chattery shit a lot better. I just couldn't get them exactly where i wanted them ya know? The thing is so dialed and squared away now man. I haven't felt this comfortable on a dirt bike since my 2001 yz125 when i was 13. The way it does exactly what i want it to do exactly when i want to do it is just incredible. Never lets the front end wash on flat off camber shit as long as my body position is right and my elbows are up. The ass end is even better. It just follows the front end, no drama, no wallowing, ive never even thought for a nanosecond that i was gonna high side. The thing just works. Then the engine is, as always with Yamaha, perfect.

hey good video keep bringin' the facts like you do. exciting bike for sure! around 11:30-11:40 the side number plate was vibrating and it kind of looked racy like when the cup cars have the thin short track bodywork on and the bodywork shakes when the car idles and you can see it in the light reflection. details like that in the vids are great! do you think the airboot makes a difference on the "butt dyno" on the big hills or sand? later on maybey you could try an 18 rear wheel and see how it does with the stiffer suspension. i know how you guys say that the old guys say that 18s are better everywhere but supercross. in fact i think you should test 18" rear wheels on other bikes too. maybe there is a model that has a certain harshness that more sidewall could help.

What’s up Josh Moseman as I always love your videos I have a quick question I bought a 2022 YZ 250 X but mine still has the two bolts for the seat and it doesn’t have that little black piece of plastic on the sides i’m curious does the new Tank and ergonomics and air flow only apply to the motocross regular YZ or did my dealership sell me a leftover the title says it is a 22 please elaborate thanks Josh and as always stay motivated

Josh you’re a real asset to MXA. I just wish you weren’t always pushing KTM sales. You said that the KTM two stroke is a better bike than the YZ. Still, at the 450 Nationals, the only two stroke is a YZ that Matt Burkeen rides and he’s doing a great job. You can always argue that he may have a deal with Yamaha or that he’d be quicker on a KTM, but a privateer usually rides what he’s most comfortable on…

Very big difference on the bottom end. I just took it to the trails for the first time and can lug it up hills and get into the powerband without the clutch. I also put vforce reeds on it and that helps too

I'm glad Yamaha kept the 2 stroke going, but...they have been milking it for long enough. Step up with the times Yamaha because you are getting left behind in the 2stroke world. Guys don't forget how pissed you were when the only change was graphics year after year after year..... Yamaha should have lead the FI 2 stroke push and e start for the extreme Enduro riders, but they didn't, now KTM rules the 2 strokes.
