2022 Triumph Tiger 1200 GT Explorer // My first PROPER ride on it!
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Hey Guys!
First ride on the road on a big adventure bike that ISN'T a GS!
What a lovely handling adventure bike this is!
It is absolutely packed with mod cons and was a pleasure to have in my garage for a short amount of time.
Have any of you guys or girls ridden this bike? What did you make of it?
Let me know in the comments below.
I hope you enjoy!

Mine just landed here in the USA today! Only one in the US until 2024. Same as my Speed Triple RR!!! lucky Me!!! Life cannot get better!!!!!
You had me at “it’s a proper shire-horse” 😂 I’ve galloped ~5000 miles on mine and can only confirm it’s a lovely one.
Lol, the bug. I got a 🐝 up my left nostril whilst braking into Druid’s hairpin at brands-hatch… missed my turn in and ended up off-line then down into Clarke’s it stung me pretty good… had to “snot rocket” It out… . 🤦

Had a test ride on the triumph really nice bike but then test rode the r1250gs rally te and well I bought it, it's just so good. Keep up the good work. 👍
The best unbiased review I've seen ! After 17 gs's 9 ktm 1290 adventures and a few multistrada's I've bitten the bullet and after a test ride last Saturday I'm smitten ! A good mix of all the others in one polished package ! I collect mine this afternoon 👌🏼

Hats off to you for riding this Kate. I’m 6 ft tall and 200lbs and I could barely touch the ground sat on this beast. I’ve yet to see any other models than this one. Yet my Triumph Dealer has no Tiger 900’s in stock for the rest of the year in Canada 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️ I’m heading to NW India with work for 3-6 months so hoping to see plenty of Royal Enfield’s while I’m there see if I can get a ride in there…but I hear driving is a little scary 😂😂😂

I really enjoy this format for your bike reviews. As a rider, I feel right at home, and get a sense of how the bike sounds, turns in, and generally performs. I have a triple black GSA as well, and find the comparison with the new Triumph very interesting. Triumph clearly did their homework with this complete redesign.

Bizarre, sat watching the video thinking those roads look familiar then you dropped\in a location name and I had the Ah ha ! moment. Good video thank you. Test road the 1200 when it came out but only got a 20 minute ride and the bike was almost too good. Personal thing but I bought a Gen 3 . Cheaper more rough edges but more character. Confession thought I've owned 3 triumphs since my first VFR. The Sprint was the bike of my dreams when released in 2005 and had no cash bought mine around 2009 and still have it. The triple appears to be in my blood! Ride safe all.

I went for the pro GT with seat on its highest setting I find it easier to get my feet down than my previous ride an 18 V Strom 1000 (pegs were exactly where your feet needed to go). The ride is very plush, and very adjustable. Agree the dash can be a bit laggy, I get some turbulence around the head at 183cm and yes they ain’t light bikes, all in all though I’m very pleased with mine - good review 👍

Kate enjoyed your first impression on the Triumph, you do make me smile though with your equine analogy's when you first mount the bikes, this one being a Shire horse, and you certainly are a rain magnet, one minute blue sky then tipping it down, don't know about how Triumph have messed with the triple though it sounds proper agricultural with that T plain crank, I know it's supposed to have low down grunt like a twin, but to me a triple should be silky smooth. Hi Kate, thanks for the video. I'm weighing up buying a 1200 GT Pro vs GT Explorer, loved the test ride on the GT Pro but like the look of extras on the Explorer. I've seen reports of blurry mirrors on the Explorer models at higher revs, I didn't experience this on the Pro, did you notice this?

Nice ride 👍. As someone who is considering this or a GS (as an upgrade from my V-Strom 1050XT) how do you think it compares? The engine sounded a bit rattley, was it, or just your mic? Also, others have commented that the T-plane crank makes it a bit vibey. I would really be interested to see how you think it compares to a 1250GS. Thanks.

The triumph has a very odd cast 18" wheel with a very narrow 150/70/18 tyre. Also the gearing looks like at 70mph it's at higher rpm than the v-strom and the 1250gs
That’s the norm with some Germans many years ago my daughter was 1 part of a two person team managing a hotel if the French Alps part of her degree, there were British, French ,Italians few other nationalities, and German tourists, they were the only nationality that complained about literally everything they totally refused to abide by the hotels rules including the no smoking in the bedrooms restaurants ect ,they would put their cigarettes out on the bedroom dining room floors some of the kept demanding ashtrays 😮, I’ve met several German people throughout my travels in Europe, I have did come across 1 German that was unbelievably aggressive and arrogant, I was in the South of France camping, the lady that was running the campsite was Dutch spoke 9 languages 😮, gave him a good telling off and gave him two hours to pack up and leave, he should of left the day before but hadn’t paid for the last day and didn’t like a Brit along side him ,😂😂 Great video enjoyed it again 😊

Interesting vid as usual, I've a versys 1000 as my holiday bike (as I call it) , I've wondered why manufacturers make what is basically a road bike so tall, surely they can make them still look like an adventure bike but not as tall, if you get what I mean. If its a true adventure/off road bike then yes they need to be tall for ground clearance, but if road biased do they need to be so tall. Maybe the bmw gs low is the way to go, I've never tried one.I don't like just a low seat option, it makes your knees too bent. Sorry rambling on a bit, keep the videos coming, oh I loved the sainsburys bit, done the same myself.

👋Eee oop, it's a bit or rum do that no-one in England waves. My previous Triumph was a Tiger, and the weight of it scared the 💩 out of me. It sounds as if they have lowered the CoG on the modern Tigers. I recently took delivery of a gorgeous Goldline Speedmaster, and while the Silas Marner in me balked at paying roughly 1500 extra NZ pesos for the paint-job, the arty-farty snot in me couldn't resist its looks. It's been raining cats and dogs this week but I've spent many happy hours in the garage, gazing at it. I'm finding my feet again after a few years of being matrimonially sanctioned from messing about on bikes. One of my beloved wife's final instructions to me was to continue to live a joy-filled life. Even though she's now with the Lord, who am I to disobey her? I am venturing up and down the street until I find my feet. (I can only see them when I sit in my recliner.) My Dart screen arrived this morn..er.. it's 2AM so it's yesterday morning, and I'm having floorboards fitted too. With a land area comparable to the UK but only five million of us, there are plenty of lovely country roads with really neat bendy bits. You'll be pleased to hear that we have nice juicy bugs too. I really like your ridey-commentaries. It's great to ride vicariously, and good on you for keeping to the speed limit, wot!
