2022 Toyota Tundra Capstone | MotorWeek Road Test
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
While the Detroit Big-3 still dominate full-size pickup truck sales in North America, the Toyota Tundra has certainly earned itself a seat at the grown-ups table. And these days that means breaking out the fine china and expensive dinnerware more than brown-bagging it. So, let’s put on our Sunday best and check out this new Toyota Tundra Capstone. #Toyota #ToyotaTundra #TundraCapstone

Usually when a vehicle gets redesigned, the first year vehicles will still have bugs that haven't been quite worked out yet even if it's a good brand like Toyota. I've also heard about some turbo issues on the very early 2022 Tundra as well. But, Toyota does tend to bounce back after discovering the issues early.
Only thing I have always liked on the tundra is the rear window that comes down thats about it

I agree, they make cars so fancy now and that drives cost up. Looking back like in the 2000's I was happy with those cars, now automakers make stuff fancy no matter what kind of vehicle it is.

As with other Toyota/Lexus products, I think the styling is too polarizing and overboard. Toyota should have at least offered a n/a V8 as an option and let buyers show tell them what they want engine wise. Loaded or not, nearly $80,000 for a gasser light duty truck is just insanity. Tundra Capstone - not the reliability and expereince I was expecting from an $80K Toyota product! Four weeks in on a Capstone its been back to dealer for 8 days of the 28 days due to high levels of vibration increased under load and towing. 1. Took 50+ presses of the fuel cap release to get it to start working, 2. Rear tailgate same issue but continues. 3. The side steps keep staying out, 4. The middle rear seatbelt alert goes off without anyone sat in it, 5. The rear tailgate is 4x larger gap LHS than RHS, 6. The hybrid hasn't kicked in once sat in the school line stationery daily, 7. gas mileage hasn't topped 16mpg with tops 8mpg towing 6K lbs along i10. 8. The screen has now failed and requires a pin every 10 to 20 minutes. 9. All niggles but the vibration under load with an empty car trailer and then loaded results in front seats shaking 1 to 2" forward and back at a high rate......according to 'experts' at Mike Calvert Toyota Houston this is apparently how Toyota trucks are. Including the panel spacing quote the Service Manager "all the Tundra's in our lot are that bad!"........

Almost $80,000, and you don't even get a V8. Toyota is going to lose millions on that decision. It's unacceptable to not have a V8 in a truck that large. Couple that with that awful hybrid idea, where the system is sandwiched between the engine and trans, and you've got a future failure that nobody is going to want.
