Watching your Tour live now on the PLB - great stuff. Helpful to hear your thoughts that went into the build.

very cool! great job on the build out and kit. We did day1 of Tour of Idaho as a test ride. Not joke, likely one of the biggest accomplisments you can do as a biker. Looked like a g43, I packed my sig p320 40SW. I ordered a chainsaw mount, but plan to take my elec chainsaw. Send the battery with my buddy and I'll pack the saw ;)

Great review of your BDR set up. I've got two EXCs I'm prepping now for shorter sections of BDRs. So hoping to carry less on my body. Light bikes - pound for pound are the best offroad Adventure Bikes as they will go deeper in than any GS bike at twice the weight. Most solo GS riders won't get off road far because they might drop it. The commenters who don't understand that, shouldn't be a concern for you. And look at Noraly on CRFs, at her level of riding, going solo and getting more adventure than most could imagine doing. But we're all out there, as a community, in solidarity for this sport we love. Keep up the great videos and good luck on this ride!

Good Luck. If you're local I would pre ride all of day 1 fully loaded and take whatever penalty

Hey Scott - appreciate the thorough description of gear and bike build. I have a 2018 350 EXC-F - wondering how much I need to budget for all the mods you have on your bike? I don't know if I'll be doing the T1 next year but would like to know what I'd need to plan re: bike prep / mods. Cheers 🙂

FW - thank yo for watching and commenting. I'm going to get roasted for letting you know how much I have into this "project" but that's okay. The Tour of Idaho was worth every penny in my book. Breakdown: Bike Mods - (includes GPS) $6500 Trip Costs - (hotels, meals, fuel, tires) $2600. These are real close estimates with prices reflective of fuel and products at that time. Oh, add the chainsaw for $385 and the mount at $140, Garmin in reach Mini if you don't have one $350 and any riding gear of your choice $$$. It was an experience worth the expense. Cheers

I see you have the tacomoto weights to balance the wheels. What was that process like and how did you determine the weight needed?

  • @code4performance

On the Taco website it lists weights already calculated front and rear for stock or motion pro lite rimlocks. I went with the set for the stock KTM rim locks. While they are not perfect as compared to a car tire wheel balancing, they do help immensely. They are intended to be installed opposite the rim lock. Really easy install and there are some good videos out there explaining the process. Thank you for watching.

Are you planning on shipping: tire Motor oil🛢 Filter To Salomon ? And are you bringing a dry break, quick connect gas hose for chain saw/ trail Angel 😇 Fire crackers usually work well for initial Crider deterrent.

Kevin, it is against the rules to ship anything in advance to be dropped at a location. This will get you DQ'd for sure. I am buying a tire in Salmon, yes, which is allowed and you can call ahead and arrange to buy it/have it installed. I forgot to mention but I have a short piece of hose to siphon gas from my bike into my saw or use some from one of the gas bags. I then have a syringe to measure out a set amount of 2T oil into the saw tank. Hopefully the trail angels are watching over and keep the critters away or at least they hear my coming......

@@code4performance If you put your original connector on extra hose you won't need to siphon. Just turn 🔑. That was some math figuring out oil ratio per Oz. Of gas. Haven't read rules. Thanks for clarification. I wish you safe travels on your epic journey !

Rolled into the motel or ABnB so late I just went to bed. Never worried about it to be honest. I guess you could cable lock it to a post or something but really, don’t sweat it.
