This is a Motormouth couple car review of the 2022 Porsche Targa 4 Gas sports-car! The 911 Targa is a timeless classic with its characteristic Targa bar in satin black aluminum, an innovative roof concept and the original Targa logo, it is by far my favourite Porsche. The electrically operated, fully automatic roof can be raised and lowered in 19 seconds while stationary.
The Targa 4 GTS has a 3L twin-turbocharged flat-six with a 7-speed manual or an 8-speed PDK, 473 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque, standard AWD.
The Targa 4 GTS goes 0-100 km/h in 3.5 seconds with the sport chrono package and 0-60 mph in 3.3 seconds with a top speed of 307 km/h or 190 mph. The GTS comes with LED headlights in black including the Porsche dynamic light system, available Matrix design LED headlights, an LED lightbar, an automatic extending rear spoiler, recessed door handles, a sport exhaust system with two oval tailpipes in high gloss black and different 911 Turbo S wheel sizes. At the front you’ll find 20” wheels and the rear 21” plus summer performance tires giving this 911 an athletic look. You can also add at no charge, Carrera S wheels and RS Spyder design wheels. With its driver focused cockpit and sporty interior design, it comes standard with 4-way sport seats, black Race-Tex upholstery, black brushed aluminum trim, a 10.9” touchscreen with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, an instrument cluster with a central analog rev counter and two 7” display screens plus a heated steering wheel. The Targa 4 GTS starts at $181,200 CAD/$162,700 USD. Price as tested $215,095 CAD with extra features like a leather interior, shark blue seat belts, front axle lift system, power steering plus, GT sport steering wheel, premium package with the Bose sound system, power folding exterior mirrors, surround view monitor, lane change assist and ambient lighting. I like your shopping cart theory, we drive the GTS to do grocery shopping everyday. The frunk is perfect and user friendly. You are right, 992 is very functional, this is the best sports car or simply the best car.

In the 80s, the only 911 version I dislike is the targa because the lines just doesn't flow. It's so awkward looking. The roof is almost horizontally flat and then the rear window just slope down with an obvious kink at the rear roof edge. But this new targa is absolutely gorgeous. When the roof is up - 4:14 - the roof top actually curves mimicking the coupe. It's just beautiful. Although I'm a coupe person, I may even consider a targa in the future.

Oh my lord! I love this car! Went on the configurator about two hours ago and still there ;-) Why? it now shows all the PTS colors, the amazing Heritage interiors, etc, etc, and etc ;-) Most stunning? All the standard safety features found on my my Toyota would cost an additional $6k usd or so....sheesh! Great review, TY !

I love it too! One of the reasons why I like the Targa so much is the roof, it's fabulous and very little wind compared to the 911 cabriolet.
Mine is ordered. Identical car with Exclusive Manufacturer Chalk full leather. Can’t wait !!!!!! We’re coming to see you guys in Vancouver

Agree with you the rear black plastic looks cheap and offsets everything and I can't understand why people have blacks mags on their cars it looks terrible

First time watching your channel, great review. This car with the shark blue and Spyder wheels is hopefully my future car one day. Another great luxury convertible alternative is the Lexus LC 500, was totally enamored by it's beautiful looks (inside and out), and it's AMAZING sounding naturally aspirated V8. Give it a test drive if you haven't already.

This car is a total BEAST!
Half the fun of this review, is to see his face when "speedy" Andrea goes to metal.
I guess it is alright to dream occasionally... but, that is about all I will be able to do.
My favourite Porsche ever! Preferably in carbon grey or bright red! I am working hard to buy one. It suits you, Zach!

If you can afford it there is no substitute. And if you can afford it, appreciate well made things and haven't bought one shame on you. I would recommend the normally aspirated older models- 991.1. Such a glorious sound.
I'd like one, but I just can't see the markups they want if you can even locate one. Once the global economy crashes, there should be some nice deals.... Like 1/2 off on a year old car, after someone lost 90% of their net worth. Thanks for the review. The sound of that motor. Nice!

That chunky back glass harkens back to the old 911sc targas. Not sure how I feel about it although it probably looks better in person. Zack seems more interested in reviewing Andrea’s dress. 😉
That blue reminds of Toyota's Calvary Blue. That type of blue is one of the few colora that I think black wheels look good. It's a fun rich person car. A great one at that.

Cool , the way the top is stored , i’d rather have a top that stored in the back seat , and the rear window would give me access to the space behind the front seats , if it still tilted , it could store somewhere else , but , i don’t know where , you could get a clear top also , with a sun screen ,
Porsche always makes great vehicles but the price and mpg are real killers. The "only" reason is if you got the money. (Andrea looks like a billion dollars!).

Gosh I've been waiting for this review Andrea and like Zack said the colour coordination is sublime though he looked sheepish as you put your foot down on the accelerater! PS, the car looks and handles really well and is a show stopper just like the dress if I may Andrea.

I agree with Andrea and Zach on how nice they layout the dash. Especially how they built in the infotainment system. I hope more manufactures adopt that concept for the built in infotainment system instead of it looking to be a afterthought of where to have it located.

Great review guys. Still miss my 991.2 Carrera 4 GTS but I wouldn’t go 4 wheel drive again in a 911 and that’s the only way they make Targas now. Shame.

Why? removing the driveshaft and transforming a 4 into a 2 is no witchcraft. This way it is a lot easier than the other way around.

At least…Twice I’ve considered selling (trade + cash) my ‘87 Cab for an SL55 AMG (2006). I love the Benz with it’s power, luxury appointments and amazing hardtop, but trading my Porsche for the Mercedes-Benz would mean every other month I’d be dealing with a 4 figure ‘dealer-only’ repairs. I’ve considered an older mid-2000 BMW 650i convertible, but between weight, looks, maintenance (I’ve had the SWB 740i w/M-Sport), reliability, value/price and looks… but I couldn’t justify going backwards, driving-wise at least. My Carrera may be less comfortable, not as fast, less ‘look at me’ looks, noisier, smaller and zero technology/safety features… but it’s overall value simply cannot be matched. This new Targa is Light Years ahead of my 911, I absolutely love it. But at over $150,000 plus, I could never justify it’s price (I paid less than $20,000 nearly 20 years ago). My Porsche might not have the street-cred, looks, the speed or the technology… but I love it’s simplicity, raw driving experience and little to no maintenance. I just wish mine at the very least had cup holders. Thanks for the video.

Lucky you! Personally, I would take a Summer in Vancouver/Victoria with a $185,000+ Targa over mosquitoes, over BBQ’d steaks and a potential sunburn (I’ll be building a dock with Brothers). But at least there will be beers and laughs.

The worst standard feature are the center lock wheels. Try changing one when you get a flat - impossible.

That Targa sure is nice. Too bad reporters don't talk about Porsche and truth. You may know Porsche as part of VW group has lied about emissions and fuel mileage for the past 17 years. . As a result, that company has been ordered to pay their customers millions. The U.S. dragged them kicking and screaming into honesty court. Some company, eh?
Everything is great except that microphone shifter. My Cayman has a regular PDK shifter. Targa GTS is a great car.
I love your channel but couldn't help but notice that you seem to be skewed towards Porsche/Audi in the proportion of your reviews:)
Dear Santa… Have heard a Hybrid Targa 4GT has been set loose apparently it’s one the fastest made.
My concern with the Tarag's was "air turbulence" with the top down. In reviews by j other car jchannels they have complained about air-turbulence. But in this review we could hhear you both speak no problem. So is it a non-issue actually? I've always loved the look of the Targa and preferred it ofver a traditional convertible....finding it looks odd on a 011 (many will disagree)....

A beautiful design, but given that the whole automated roof system only results in removing the targa, it seems overly complex for little return. I think the Corvette has better options here.
How come the Audi R8 Spyder didn't make it on the consideration list? If I had the money and the wardrobe to match... My top choices would be Porsche & Audi convertibles. :)
Typically the convertible / targa needs more chassis to support the lack of bracing in the roof, which means it is heavier. A Porsche compromises on so many aspects of a car and optimizes for the best sport handling and performance that it does not make sense to get one with anything but a standard roof. Unless, of course, the car is bought to make a statement and not for any of its qualities.
