    Team sports are crazy. You left 4 pins up, great job come give us hive fives. The commentator says how it's impressive and how well their coached because they all have the same motion. That isn't really a good thing, lots of people throw differently. I think proof of this is when you get 4 strikes in a game and 3 of them come from 1 bowler. That really doesn't really show how good the coaching supposedly is. Especially since nearly all the strikes came from a single player in all 4 games on that team.

    The girl that bowls 4th and 9th frame from the losing team is the only one that has a PBA footwork. The rest of the girls are so late in their timing, it is painful to watch. I am wondering if it is some kind of trend to teach women to swing the ball on their opposite foot. I haven’t seen any one handed male pro inside top 100 that has that type of timing. Nick Pate might be the only one.

  • @2t9j0bowler300

    @2t9j0bowler300

    10 ай бұрын

    I think it's derived from the fact that timing is best measured when the slide foot gets flat in front of the head (as discovered by Coach Mark Baker) - swing should be parallel to the ground at this point. Most of these ladies have shoulder-high backswings so they can get the ball into their swing later and still time up with this spot. Hope this helps.

  • @vagabonds5526

    @vagabonds5526

    10 ай бұрын

    @@2t9j0bowler300 Late timing is an issue for the vast majority of the people who bowl. It’s a question of balance. It’s unnatural for a begginer to drop the ball on the same foot (as most of the pro’s do). People learn intuitively to counterbalance stepping with their left foot on the pushaway. That’s the late timing and it automatically limits your backswing since there is no time to swing more. Women, in general have less strength and the issue with pushing the ball on their opposite foot is even more common. The problem I see is these girls are supposed to be “accomplished” bowlers but with an amateur timing. It is the “culture” of “learn to repeat shots and let the ball do the job. I’m sorry but that’s not the direction I would like to see women’s bowling going towards.

    @@annwatts7002 first of all, I think we’re all aware of the date. But thank you for pointing it out yet again… second, we do bowl like the pros. We study them and try our best to imitate them. The thing is, we can’t actually be them because, now bear with me, we’re not them! And lastly the, no disrespect to PB3 considering he’s one of the greatest, but the sport has evolved a lot since he was at the top of his game. That change being more power (higher revs and ball speed) and with that comes movement. Of course the goal is to be as steady as possible, but we can’t be statues when we throw because of the power we try to put into the ball.
