2012 Bowling's 69th U.S. Open Stepladder Finals - Who Do You Think You Are? I am!

Спорт

Pete Weber tries to win his fifth U.S. Open title, which would be the all-time record, but has to get by Ryan Shafer, Jason Belmonte and Mike Fagan to succeed.
This is the event after which Weber exclaims these legendary words: "Who do you think you are? I am!"
Originally aired February 26, 2012 on ESPN from Brunswick Zone Carolier in North Brunswick, New Jersey.

The person would not say anything while PDW bowled but did in between phrames. I don't remember what PDW said about what that heckler said, I just know it bothered PDW but he came through and Focused his Victory over at the stands where that heckler was. It's like saying you'd be intimidated by Tiger Woods on the golf course. Sure, you're 6'6" and you weight 275, and you have 2 black belts in martial arts. But on the golf course we don't measure your ability to fight, we go by how scary you are to compete against. If you had to play golf against Tiger, you'd be scared, and so would I. That's what we mean with PDW.

Funny story about that. 100% true. Pete is a big wrestling fan and before this he used to use the Degeneration X song for his strike music up to about 2009-2010-ish I think it was. I used to work on the PBA tour just as set help but traveled quite a few times to do several events. The guy I worked for brought me to Columbus, OH for the Don Johnson event and on a Saturday during the Pro-Am event Pete was outside talking and taking pics with fans coming in. I just happened to be out there. I noticed he was carrying his bag and several balls with him as he was taking pics on the sidewalk of the bowling center so I made my way over to the door to wait on him to hold the door for him. When he finished up, he spun around to walk in and I opened the door for him and got out of his way and I said to him, "Time to play the game." He stopped for a second, looked up at me with a sort of inquisitive look and proceeded to walk in to take care of business. Soon after this his music changed to the Triple H music. Was it because of my comment, I don't really know, I cant take credit for that but it did and still does make me smile when I hear it playing. Fun times doing those events.

But when Marshall Holman acted like that, he didn't get away with it from his fans, they "Booed" him thru most of the matches. He stated later after his PBA career that it was a defense mechanism due to his nervousness during matches. You have to be a real pro to admit that IMO. He was one of the best of the PBA members.

There’s way to deal with those matters and then there are those who are just assholes who are full of themselves…I can just imagine Weber at a restaurant or checking into his hotel…I pity those who have to deal with him. Unless they’re doing jumping jacks, you can’t stop a fan from moving his head. It’s the fans that are making him his money at the end of the day.

The ONLY record WRW Jr. holds is most titles. Last I heard they were tied at 100 total of regional, senior regional, PBA, and PBA50 titles. Pete also is tied for most majors, 10 with earl anthony, and is the only person to ever win 5 BPAA Allstars / US Opens. His style is flawless, and his charisma and attitude brought bowling back from the grave. He is the GOAT winning endless titles and majors in both old bowling and new bowling. WRW can't win shit on PBA tour in recent years and Pete has won majors in recent years.

My view is; "it is not the oil pattern that is tough here" it is rather the pressure and the focus on the mechanics that causes pulling the shot and slowing the speed leaving splits that are difficult under this pressure: Pete and Brian are both very capable of bowling under pressure.
