It's so they don't get in the way of the TV cameras. There are tape lines on the floor that they are asked not to go over while the bowler is in their approach.

Agreed, bowling is a great sport for so many young people. I always enjoy watching them bowl at t lanes I bowl at … these competitive bowlers are a good and a good example for youth today. I found the jumping around a bit too distracting, but the concentration while bowling was really good.

Coach O'Keefe trained her girls well! Who wouldnt want a champion bowler to be your coach? Hats off to both teams, good bowling but only one team can be champion! Aloha

I was wondering the same thing. She didn’t even answer the question of what “rev rate” means and didn’t sound like a pro whatsoever. Honestly both these broadcasters/announcers were bad. I like watching but they made it rough that’s for sure.

Great match-up. Delivered. Shannon O'Keefe is just a winner. Wherever she goes, winning follows. Jacksonville State was smart to hire her.

Take a page out of Faith Welch's book: At set position, hold the weight of the ball and push the ball off with your other hand. This makes it much easier to initiate a pendulum armswing from before the shot starts. She really shows off that skill well. When they taught us that at school it was so uncomfortable at first, but it becomes natural.

Positive energy and supporting one another is important to any team. You aren't giving a high five for the miss. You are giving a high five to encourage them for the next shot.

Vanderbilt and Nebraska are great teams! Unfortunately they didn't make the final four. 6 players (4 all Americans) and 2 coaches transferred to Jax State from McKendree. McKendree has some great couches/players, you'll see them again in the future!

Have any of these couches ever bowled in the PBA ?

coming from d2 to d1 and winning on 1st season as a headcoach is nuts. tht AS coach always choking at last hurdle. runner up 2021, 23, and now 24. gotta find a new coach if he be choking tht much at the last run

If Arkansas State listens to you and fires this guy, I will pray every day their bowling program dissolves to nothing..........and let's see how they like going from being in contention to win, to not being relevant at all. There is probably 70 universities where the Athletic Director of that college would probably sell his soul and his own children to be in the National Championship three of the last four years.

Supporting and controlling the ball is a vital skill to the game and one that should be developed, not done for you. Either develop the strength to do so or switch to a lighter ball. That said, altho I do agree with the core message behind the comment I don't really think there was any call to insult the bowlers.

@procrastinator6902 Here is the issue. Is the USBC a pro league? It isn't. You have millions of amateur bowlers that have USBC Cards and bowl in USBC certified leagues all over the country. So how far do we go with this? Do we tell Joe's Rubber Tire League in Sun Baked New Mexico they can't use wrist positioners? Where does this rule start and where does it end in the confines of the USBC? College bowling is an amateur sport, not professional. It's easy to say this stuff on the internet. But implementation of this rule across the USBC is opening pandoras box.

@@gunner-qf9eh Just my personal opinion on the matter. For practice or whatever that's fine, but I don't think they should be allowed for any sanctioned competition. I've actually held this opinion long before the PBA ever ruled on the matter. Yes it's an amateur league, but even in amateur leagues we don't allow things like gutter guards, 2 handed releases, or ball ramps for the same reason wrist positioners shouldn't be allowed...they take away from a skill that should be developed, not done for you, to overcome the challenges of the game.

Do we discriminate against the wife and her injury, and tell her she can't bowl Tuesday night sanctioned league? I'd love to be a fly on the wall for that conversation.
