I am glad you are safe Gene. Ian was devastating. I hope Don is okay too. The new look looks great. I got tired of the Deno-Mar look of years past. I am not shocked at all on the prices. Prices were up last year easily as much as 35% in dealer costs! So of course we the consumer are going to get pinched. I am so glad that you and Don are doing the great work there. You both are way above my pay grade on what you are doing. The Emotiva and Parasound amplifier and the Denon AVR I have is doing great. I may run my Anthem pre pro again. Got to see how that goes. Curious on the difference.

This makes me so glad I waited, it's been a while since a whole new line-up with a really big set of changes like this has happened lot of features for the price in the 50. Are the amps you chose to disconnect in favour of separate power amp reassignable as well? Think dennons new range was. Need a video that shows which models these are targeting in dennons new line up. That 3800h or maybe 4800h whatever was recently shown on here sounded amazing for the price but I love marantz design look over dennon

I bought the Kinki studio ex-m1 integrated amplifier last year, this year they decided to increase the price because of overhead costs and price increases of many of the parts, the unit went from $2898 to $2,998, an increase of only $100, this amplifier is built like a tank with premium parts and impeccable sound, Sound united on the other hand, with the power to buy bulk, has been raising prices indiscriminately for the last 2 years, and the new offerings from Marantz and are just confirming this further.

I've just gotten the cinema 60 this week, upgrade from an old Marantz NR1504. Was trying to get the previous gen on the end of line sales but just missed out and needed a replacement. Sounds good so far, big improvement in music, remote is nicer (it's still a plastic remote but has a backlight, hope the buttons don't stop working like the previous marantz remote), on screen setup is a big improvement too. Have had one annoying bug already, when using Spotify connect with the screen turned off audio will drop out every minute or so for a second - doesn't happen if you leave screen on. It was expensive, considering I was trying to get the SR7015 for 50% less in the sales but I was already committed to the upgrade as I needed the 4k avr to fix the delay in the Xbox Dolby digital tv pass through.

I currently take advantage of the 11 channel processing on the 4700H and am connected with the pre-outs for all channels. Have been looking at the Cinema 40 and 4800H ... honestly, I don't see the $1,000 price difference. Both designed and built in Japan and the specs ... close to identical. Where they differ is slightly in the THX measurements, but that is a moot point for those of use using external amplification that is better than the built in AVR amplification. Anyway, thanks again for the information, as always ... I believe the 4800H is basically a Cinema 40 in Denon "clothing" ... or vise versa. Enjoy your gear!!!

Well, it now looks like Marantz just couldn't resist the temptation to carry this new "design language" back down to their older and lower-end AVR series, thus reducing effective product differentiation... Expected move from Sound United. It was obvious that MARANTZ would go PREMIUM. They want to appeal towards a different target group as well as marry their products with their B&W speakers. They target a clientele who like design & looks along with great audio quality and can afford more expensive gear. For those who cannot, or don't care about design they offer the Denon / Polk Audio alternative. I don't imply that Denon AVRs are inferior in sound quality than Marantz , their main difference is the exterior ( aluminum faceplate) which is more expensive to produce, hence their price difference. Finally, for those that money's not an issue they offer ULTRA-PREMIUM systems as well (e.g B&W 800 series with Classe Amplification)
