2022 Indian Super Chief Limited Test Ride

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Demo day at the Indian Motorcycles of Marietta. Got a chance to ride the 2022 Indian Super Chief Limited with the 116ci motor in it. Power is amazing on the bike although a bit vibey on the top end. But worth a look if you are in the market for this class of bike.

I spent a lot of time around my HD and Indian dealership lately. I feel like HDs are a little more refined overall (except for the digital gauge, this Indian unit is the best) but I order a Indian Super Chief Limited anyway. I just like to be different I guess. Plus I loved the 116 motor...pulls like a freight train. Great video and review!

You are correct the HDs are more refined and the Indian bikes have that raw power. Thanks for watching.

Good video. I have this same bike in blue. Mine has the stage 2 performance upgrade kit with a Lloydz tune, plus a little extra the Indian tech did by tweeking the fuel map a little better than specs for the stage 2. I had the same response first time I switched from standard to sports mode, it moves! Been ridding since 1981, and this has been my favorite bike to date. I agree it doesn't feel like a "large" touring bike, that's because it's not. At 6' it fits me right for short hops around town or a trip down the east coast. I'd get larger saddle bags for long trips. The bags it comes with are leather wrapped around a hard inner liner that has very limited space.

Thank you. Stage 2 kit probably turns this into a rocket.

The Harley Heritage has a larger fuel tank which makes an important range difference.

I really do love the new chief lineup. I’m not sure which one I like the most. The bags are a nice touch on this one. I’m sure I could get used to floorboards but haven’t had great experience with them to date.

Awesome review loved how you couldn't stop laughing after trying sport mode! Question: Did you (or anyone else reading this) experience wind buffeting around 55mph and higher? I own a 22 superchief and this is my only complaint! For reference I'm 5'8" and the top edge if the windshield is also at eye level.

Thank you, I didn't but then I wasn't riding constantly at 55 mph to notice. I have a re curve windshield (curved at the top) and that helps with the wind flow.

Beautiful bike. I only wish they'd offer options for cut wheels instead of spokes. They're a PITA if you run into wheel/tire issues whilst touring. Also wish they'd gone with a 5gal fuel tank. Fueling up every 3 hours will get monotonous!

Ya I agree on all. This is their 1st gen I am sure they will update some of these in their second gen bikes. The motor though is killer and with that you need a bigger tank.

Indian has been a success story for Polaris. Center of mass affects how light the bike feels. Crazy high prices. Crappy fuel economy and range. I do like the looks of some Indians.

Not bad these bikes. They are definitely taking the fight to Harley. I still feel like Harleys have a slightly better fit and finish.

Yeah I think they should've put it. But being that it's a lighter bike, it may give pretty decent mpg back.

@@RideAboutNow Brandan Bicasso was given this same model as a loaner tester bike. He had to bungee a gas tank on back. Had a few close calls after running out of gas . I’d like to see someone cut the tank and add enough tin to it to make it a 5 gallon. Especially on the super Chief/ Limited. It’s meant for road trips

If i was going to buy another Indian, it would be a Scout; however, now that Harley has the Sportster S, i have no need to go back to Indian. I like the 3 Harley's i have now but that Sportster S look pretty sweet (but i hate the exhaust placement). right now i have the following: 2009 Rocker C 2014 Wide Glide 2021 Street Glide I will go on record now and say that if they put a bigger version of the Revolution Max into a Street Glide, i will be buying another.

There a re things I love and hate about Indisn, as with HD. I could not bring my self to de grade what another loves snd rides. Will end yp with A HD Heritage type, and I may love it like my Indian Suoer Cheif limited. The research and development, labor and parts are wicked expensive on both. Justify insane prices? IMHO, no. Bot both are more solid. Compared to the Walmart bees. Others puts out. Once on either one. Nothing else will do.

I felt that the Indians were the same price if not slightly more when comparing the direct competitor models from HD. I like both brands. Indians have the higher power out of the box and the HD is more polished and refined in the materials.
