You can flat-crank the engine to circulate the oil prior to starting....since the oil filter housing is "upside down" and you can't prime it with oil....push the gas pedal and brake pedal all the way down (at the same time) while pushing the start button for 4-5 seconds to do this.

I have that same pan and yes the oil jumps out of the pan. I’m not going to use a pan/jug combination anymore.

The manual is wrong. It is 5.5L or 5500 ml not 5700 ml. Apparently Ford is aware of the issue but have not issued a service bulletin. 5.5L is to the high level fill, not the nominal fill line at the top of the hatch…..so spec is approx 250ml over the recommended fill line.
