I think the biggest problem with cars are how technologically advanced they are. The technicians of the old days were proper mechanics but now they "plug in" and expect a diagnostic tool to tell them what's wrong!!

Exactly brah even a tune nowa days "stage 1, stage 2 and stage 3" and so forth the times of hardware upgrades are soon a thing of the past everything is software. Ive even seen someone *stage a turbo* how TF💀

Hi everyone. I think we may be looking at serious problems with VW going forward; these problems are not just isolated to the facelifted Polo, but I had the same problems with my 2021 T-Cross 1.0 Comfortline DSG. That car was a nightmare and a half to say the least! Below is a list of the problems I experienced with that hellish car, over the year and few months I had it: 1. Rattling in the center console, dashboard, and steering column - steering column had to be replaced to partially fix the problem. The car was opened so many times but some rattles were never sorted out. 2. Squeaky breaks - problem was never sorted out. The breaks would squeak once they were warm after some time driving. 3. Demon possessed A/C system - Don't get me started on this one; suffice it to say that the A/C had a mind of its own! 4. Loose break pedal - I don't know if VW does this on purpose, but I noticed the same thing when I upgraded to the 1.5 R-Line DSG. They can really do better than that! 5. Clanky gear downshifting - downshifting on gears was very clanky and would cause the car to jerk at times; to stop this from happening I had to either drive in sport mode or I had to switch off the auto start/stop function. This issue was never sorted out by the way. 6. Pathetic audio quality on handsfree system - I don't know what caused it, but people could never hear me properly when talking through the handsfree system; problem was never fixed and I do not have the same problem on the 1.5 R-Line. It seems the build quality on these new VWs is unbecoming of the VW brand; I hope they sort their issues out before they have a boycott on their hands.

I had some minor issues with my Polo GTI, however, VW Waterfront Cape Town were exceptional in sorting out the issues. The service I received was next level. I'm very happy.

I don't really comment on KZread but i will today. And also thank you to Muzi for the awesome content recently, loving your videos. I'm not sharing any experience about the facelifted Polo or even the Polo hatchback, but in 2018 my grandmother bought a VW Polo 1.6 Comfortline Sedan, after 4 years of ownership and around 40 000 km they never had problems with the car. Nothing mechanical or electrical nothing. Now my point is that sometimes Volkswagen can be phenomenally good at making a very reliable car, but it seems that is not the case this time with the facelifted Polo as we can see in this video. Like if you agree👍

I have a 2017 polo first New car and first VW I just did it's 4 year service at 5 years I did have an oil change last year though. I did it because I have low km. It still only has 54000.km in it and it still runs like new was going to update at the end of the year with this new one. Give the some time to fix any issues.

@@kimbridge5592 I think what we can all learn is that previous Polo's are always more reliable, i forgot to mention i know a guy he has his own IT business and drives a 2007 Polo 1.6 around for work and that car has over 500 000 km. It is regularly serviced and with a few rattles and squeeks but mechanically its perfectly fine

Your example and the comments below are scenarios of vw vehicles with extremely low kilos traveled. On average a vehicle would normally pile up 15- 20 000km a year, possibly a greater reason for it's reliability, not necessarily that they were better built, but also could be a bit of both

I have the same car. Bought it brand new exactly a month ago. It was like I was made of both gold and diamond at that vw dealer. Well, sad to say two weeks into this buying my new and first car is awesome kinda vibe, it developed all the problems mentioned here. PLUS lite and deep scratches on the entire body of my car after I took it in for the first time 2days ago for whatever crazy technical issues at VW Tri-Sec dealer la eTrichardt (Secunda) area. Wow! I've never felt so disrespected and taken for granted. They said they washed it but it still had traces of dirt all over (most probably due to rushing for numbers) - they were so reckless and careless with my car. Perhaps it's because they don't deal with issues, they deal with numbers of cars they wanna make seem to have sorted in a single day's trial. Worse, they pin those scratches on me, oh wow!!! Horrible! They must take this car back. I LOVE this polo rline facelift - I love my car too much but now after a month having washed my car only twice, it now looks 5 years old plus with all these technical problems - NO!

Nice work Sir 💯. I got myself Polo vivo 2021 model. It actually gave me breaking noise after 15K millage I didn't really struggle that much I guess it was an issue they fixed that around January 2022 until now it's still rocking but I love Rline 😭

Honestly, I had the pre facelift polo aw and I had few problems but they were rectified and I was able to drive 30k miles and sell the car in MINT condition. Great car and did everything. I have an facelift R-Line on order and I have no worries about issues. I think you are looking too deeply into this…. Many cars come out of the factory with problems and if your dealer is struggling to rectify them, go to another dealer as it seems those technicians are inexperienced. Technicians who work on my car go above and beyond to rectify any issues.

The best GTI to go with is the 7.5 TCR since its the last mk7 model to come thru i believe it should be fine tuned interems of previous mk7 technology and mechanical failures that have accured thru out the series. In my opinion.

Ford Ranger wildtrak 2.0l biturbo blows cylinder heads, some of them leak oil and a whole bunch of other problems which some are yet to surface, but worst of all is the treatment you get at the dealer, those people stink with crazy narcissistic defensiveness and blame you for driving your car, if I'd give advice to ford ranger owners and wanna be owners, stick with the tried and tested 3.2l turbo, ford is pumping in A LOT of air in the 2.0l engine to get it moving and it revs higher which means it works very hard.

I know this is about the Polo, but I'd like to comment on latest Tiguan. The electronic park brake on my 2020 Tiguan wouldn't release after three months of buying the car brand new. The hooter died last year and now I'm experiencing some annoying rattles coming from the back seat or C-pillar on the left hand side. Before this Tiguan I had a Golf 6 Tsi Comfortline, which I drove for 298000kms, and I must say the build quality is far superior than on the Tiguan...nxa!

This is a perfect reason why first time car buyers shouldn’t buy a car when it’s newly released. I think when a model is 18 to 24 months on the market then most likely all the issues should have been ironed out by then. In most cases experienced car owners should be able to deal with such problems.

This red flags are a concern and it seems like VW doesn't know how to handle them

Hi Muzi. Im saddened by the treatment you are receiving. I have the pre-facelift highline and had a similar issue. I simply unplugged the fuse and plugged it back in an iv not had an issue again. Perhaps try that? On the last issue...at least they cud have tried to accomodate u as an aspiring real life youtuber...their comment is heartbreaking

Go for the previous polo models 2018-2021 you'll hopefully still get the warranty in most cases and try to go for non digital cluster since you guys can see everyone is having problems with it. And fixing cost are quite extreme on those clusters.

Hey Muzi, I'm currently experiencing challenges with the new vw face-lift that I bought earlier this year. The car just decided to switch off the cluster, showing that red triangle 🔺️ for danger warning. Took the car in last week Friday, till today no one is saying anything.

No issues so far with my facelift. Accepted the fact that it is a 1l turbo when I bought it. My main issue with this car, scratch and dent insurance that came with it. Not sure how my bonnet got scratched and took it in to the repair shop as per the dent/scratch cover stipulates. I later got an email saying that they could make a repair as the company providing the cover could not establish liability. I’m now trying to take it further, let’s see…..

My facelift polo started giving me issues yesterday. The wipers won’t turn off, no matter what setting they are on, they just keep going. I’m also getting brake light check warnings but my brake lights are working. VW can only book me in for diagnostics next week and don’t even have courtesy cars available.

My boot wont open on my new Polo Rline, you can hear the mechanical motor but nothing happens , Booked in at VW again

Buy a demo. Those cars are technically new but they've been driven around. Maybe ideal for first time car owners to get a car that is "used", issues known and sorted

Bought a brand new caravelle T6.1 last year and the infotainment also gives issues, the car also has a blotch of paint at the drivers side it’s small but still unacceptable on a premium 1.2 million rand vehicle and the reverse camera works 07 out of 10 times , this issue goes all the way back to my golf 7gti performance edition pre facelift ( reverse camera issues and infotainment goes blank ) the gti was a 2016 model bought it new , so 6 years later and the same issues 👀

Here's my experience: I dreamed of my new Polo, it was just the colour I like Pearl White. As it drove closer it started to change from white to pale and to yellow, as it got closer it turned orange and the paint became quite rough! Ha! I suddenly woke up. Jeez it was a nightmare of a lemon.

Hi Muzi, i have a polo life 2023 since June 2023, i have it less than a year. The problem started when it was raining and the car was not in the car port. The next day, the car does not have power, and i had to be jump started and drove for sometime. It rained again, and the next day, it did the same and i had to be jump started again and too it for service and i was told the battery is fine. Another rainy day, the next day, the same issues and had error message "please check starter system" i had to talk to the manager who arranged a technician who managed to sort the error message, now the car does not start but has power, yhooo ai this car is a nightmare for me because iam always stressed when it rains😢

I have the 2021 TSI Highline. I have intermittent start issues after lengthy drives +-45 minutes. If I try to turn the car on 10-20 minutes later it doesn't start, doesn't even crank or engage the ignition. When the car cools off it starts fine. It's currently at the dealer for the third time, they don't seem to know what the problem is and just replace/ fix random things. Anyone got any ideas?

The first time I saw the EPC light pop up, with my Polo Tsi Life DSG, this was a month after purchase, on a Saturday afternoon while I was on my way out. I basically lost my mind and called thee salesman, she then advised me that this was just a software issue and there was no need for me to be alarmed as the same thing happened to the Polo Tsi Life that she was driving, I could however bring the car in to have it checked out. Took my car in thee Monday, they checked and confirmed that it was a software issue. I drove like that for about 5 months, where the light would pop up from time to time. Eventually a friend of mine owning the same car contacted me and advised that the software was available, I contacted VW and took the car in, they updated the software and I never had any issues since. I have the car for about a year now.

i'm also having a problem with the wireless charging on the polo 2022, when charging the iPhone it gets so hot that it stops charging within 5 minutes, took it to vw Midrand and i was told that this new feature is on it's first phase and it does not work with some phones since the voltage required to charge is dependent on cellphone model, it's just a pity cos when i add it i was told that you can charge "any phone", vw can't do anything about it because "The device/feature is working properly when being diagnosed!." and also if you park the car uphill, its very hard to release the gear from P to R, N, D, when you move it theres a huge glitch that comes from the gearbox. i fear this might damage the dsg.

I also noted the wireless charging issue with the polo GTI, but I thought maybe it's because my phone is too big(Galaxy Note 10 plus). The phone just gets hot but it doesn't charge. It's worrisome that you're also experiencing the same problem😔

My brand new facelift 22 plate polo rline 115 dsg was burning my left leg from new . Upon inspection it was found to have a smashed heater matrix cover from the factory. Vw uk wanted to leave me without a car while repairing. Shocking customer services and poorly built model the facelift. Previously I had a 19 plate non facelift model sel for me nearly 3 years with no issues

Would it be possible to review the new Opel Corsa 1.2T Elegance sir? Hoping to buy something in this segment now I just want to see how the polo compare with the corsa

Hi All. I have a Polo 2022 life . The problems i had so far are as follows 1.a defective airbag , which vw sorted out out. 2. The stop start doesnt seem to function from time to time 3. The battery is draining out over night The car has only 30 000km on the clock . I am now waiting for vw to respond to see what is causing these issues. If the problems do persist what procedures can i use to escalate my woes? At this point in time im worried that ive lost my money and im going to face major challenges in the future. ​@matshidisoseforo7691 yes vw sorted out the problem , they suggested i call tracker which i did. Tracker found 3 of their units in the car which was draining the battery. The battery was then replaced and the car has been doing well ever since but i dont think il ever purchase a vw again because the after sales service . Its now just a badge they selling .

Car functions are controlled by software/computers, technicians/mechanics are not software/hardware developers and sadly if the diagnostics machine cannot tell them what's wrong with the software operating every other car you're in for a tough time. If the issue is mechanical in nature and not caused by a bug in the software you're technician will be able to sort it out.

On the Pre Facelift, the pressure Tyre warning light was a problem. even with the tyres are ok.

Hi Muzi thanx for the red flags on the polo, I am first time buyer and I went to VW as I thought it has affordable cars for me. I am currently driving the polo tsi life 1.0 which I got 3 months ago 😭😭😭 oh my word I regret it. I went to the EC came back my parking sensors weren’t working and according to vw it was stone damaged fine, and now the engine sign is showing and the car vibrates and loses power/speed and/or shutters and the EPC sign is also on this whole weekend my car was parked because I’m scared something else might go wrong . I need a reliable car for work purposes and for me to take it in I need a courtesy car to use for work. So I called vw table view to bring it in and they told me they don’t have a loan car for me ,I then called vw waterfront and they told they also didn’t have loan car at the moment and that I needed to go back we’re I bought my car from so they can sort out my problem as I bought there… I called vw table view again to book for today… hopefully they’ll fix the problem. I honestly regret going to VW I know if I had gone bmw or any other dealership I would’ve encountered problems as well but not after 3 months of buying the car.

Got a 2023 polo GTI no issues at all.

Guys, this isn't a premium product... Some corners will be cut.

Had my car now for just over a month. Absolutely in love with this facelift but have one concern so far. Not a major issue but I found that on my Life model the stop-start function often comes up with an error message and fails to function while the EPC warning light will come on. The first time it remained defunct for three days, then just as I was about to call the dealership it just started working again. Then again the other day for just one drive... Not sure what that's about. Other concerns are the slight lag on the onboard screen. It's almost as if it runs out of memory.

Please report those issues to the dealership just to be on the safe side, even though you feel like it's just a minor thing. My last GTI had an aircon problem which I didn't report on time because I thought it's just a minor issue. Things went south!

I can't believe my goal is to make enough money to buy that new polo GTI. Even though people are experiencing problems, I'm not backing down. VW must be using a strong muthi on us hey. 😄 🤣 😂

Hi muzi sambo I used my friends phone because I cannot subscribe to your account... I bought a polo life last year January (POLO LIFE) of which I have been experiencing the same EPC light right after 9 months, the car would cut power at times while driving on a busy road. More than 20 times I kept taking the car to dealer so they can remove the EPC light. How do we as buyers make sure we return all this cars back to vw and I mean I am not happy with the product. Please guys come forward and let's do something with the matter.

Your case may be a bit tricky because a 2018 car is already out of warranty unless you have an extended warranty and/or a maintenance plan. What’s the problem with the car if I may ask?

Yes I have an extended maintenance plan. The issue is a clutch. The gears started to be stiff and ended up losing power and not engaging gears. It's for the second time doing this.

The new Polo face lift version was rushed, it came out too early without refinement. to be honest it looks like most models with issues are in SA.

Such a complicated and expensive polo. We just love that it looks nice, sporty, cheap, efficient and reliable. These advanced technologies that we can not afford, remember that we fill with R100 so we are supposed to pay 65k replacement infotainment after the warranty has expired. That's ten per cent of our balloon balance Lol but I believe that the technology that makes it unreliable and expensive is out of the target market.

Me , I don't have patience if I take my car back I want it fix the same day within 2 hours or I want my money back finish and klaar

I have a 2022 life DSG, what a piece of junk. Constant EPC light on and off and start stop error etc. When you take it to the dealer they say the diagnostic shows no fault, WTF. Currently having an issue with loss of power, could be turbo actuator or gearbox failure, waiting for feedback. Current objective is to get rid of this car. Current mileage 40k. Avoid at all cost.

My cluster died yesterday, lol

i had the previous gen polo. not only was the car unreliable. VW was utterly useless at diagnosing. they spent thousands and thousands on fixes that didnt work (warranty). The kenilworth dealership is so bad, i changed brands.

I'm driving the 2022 tsi life and I find it so under power. The Fiesta is more exciting. Seating not comfortable. Exceleration not exciting.... Very sad for R380k

That's actually an interesting topic since cars are ridiculously expensive these days...I'll Definitely do a video discussing different car financing options (including lease agreements).

This is not unique to VW unfortunately. I had similar issues at Ford. My car was there for so long yashawa iHail storm. And still they couldn’t solve it. When I took it to a specialist, they diagnosed correctly before they could even see the vehicle. The head mechanic there told me that the stealerships avoid spending too much time on 1 vehicle. It doesn’t make business sense for them, they don’t care about customer service. So you start to ask yourself, what’s the point of a manufacturer’s warranty when the manufacture refuses to fix problems efficiently. Bayadina.

We've been build VW's for years in sa. It's not the first time we build.

We have been building cars in SA for a while now. BMW builds the 3 series and the x5 in PTA, merc bulds the c class and others in PE, Ford builds a lot of models in PTA, Toyota builds Hiluxes and other models in Durban. There's other car OEM plants throughout the country. These facelifted polo issues are mostly isolated to electronic issues. So obviously they're not yet well versed in diagnosing them. A new model will always have these kinds of issues I tell ya
