Thank you so much for sharing. Here in Europe is easy to find, but it will cost you close to the 200€! I guess I'm going to order one too, considering it is a "step up"!!!

It'll be interesting to see how the seat wears in over time. I did the same for my Suzuki VStrom and for the first 500 miles it was NOT an improvement. However, after a year and quite a few more miles, it was a really good decision.

I haven't ridden with this seat, so take it FWIW, but I hear a lot of people say it is noticeably more padded out of the box than the stock seat. Time will tell though, that definitely is a concern of mine as I weigh the cheaper yam comfort seat vs splurging for a proper Corbin.

Took that long to build up butt callus lol or to acclimate nerve endings?

I own this bike and the comfort seat. The comfort seat does nothing to solve the primary problem with the original seat- the seats are angled forward squishing your croch into the tank and applying pressure to your lower back on a bike that should be rode at an upward angle. The comfort seat only improved comfort marginally with more cushion but after 1 hour my body is crying for a break.

Having a seat angled forward on what suppose to be a touring bike is beyond me so uncomfortable

Add a shim to the front so it's more flat. That's what I plan to do.

@@BlackBirdieGolf I had the seat with a simple mode mounted the front on the high setting and the back on the low setting so it won’t get better than that but still was bothering So I refoamed the entire seat where it feels like a saddle now very comfy It’s the only way or the Corbin seat

It’s a Nelson Riggs Sport tail bag, model CL-1060-S2. They also make one size smaller and one size bigger.

Non heated version? My comfort seat (looks exactly the same as this one) is also heated! It gets very hot, just like the grips do on level-10…😁 Just the ticket for where I live, and is a nice accessory to have for our climate here in England. It’s a shame they didn’t make it out of the same ‘softer foam’ that is on the rear seat!? I find it only slightly better over long distance rides - over the standard OEM seat.

Mine is indeed the non heated version. And I agree, it only provides a slightly better comfort than the stock seat, but for longer distances that slightly better comfort can help.

What is another shame? That an aftermarket company does not simply sell better foam for like $50 you could rebuild the stock seat in 45 minutes! Maybe a deluxe kit with better foam AND a fancy cover too for say $100... Or for $150 it includes the heating element with harness to plug into OEM harness.seriously NO ONE sells such?? I would think they could not keep up with the orders if they did! Ya know? The expensive part for all new seat would just be the injection molds etc to manufacturer the plastic base but the foam could be shaped from blank and the covers simply stitched off pattern like clothing etc. Surprised CHINA is not all over it! Exactly the kind of thin they could knock out by the thousands over night

Nice insight man. Any update on your opinion, wear and driven miles with it after 6 months? I'm looking for longer drives as 4hr+ what is your opinion on that with this seat, or what was your longest continues drive (with refuelling ofc)?

I rode the bike late last summer through the Monongahela National forest on a 2 day trip, and found that the seat does give you a bit more comfort than the stock, what it seems to do is spread out the pressure points a little more evenly, so I could ride 4 hours with some numbness, but not “get me off this bike” numbness. The foam seems to be fine on subsequent 3 hour rides. The stock seat is better than the one I had on my FZ-07 and Street Triple, and the comfort seat probably adds 20% more riding time in “comfort” before you start squirming a bit.

Do you have any experience with Tiger 900’s? Curious of overall comfort of the tracer compared to the Tiger.

I have only sat on several Tigers, never rode them. But it appears that all these seats are somewhat a compromise, people I know that have ridden a V-Storm and Ducati Multistrada will complain about the seat after some hours. Unfortunately I think the key is lots more padding, and at that point you’re into buying a Honda Goldwing that has a couch for a seat!

Is it just me or does it not seem like SOME VENDOR would simply sell a kit to redo the stock seat? In other words remove the staples and cover place new extra foam piece on top of existing and then install provided cover which is sized to accept added padding....DUHH right? Could be like 100 bucks max I am guessing? but seriously NO ONE thought to do this as a product line? Seriously??

Not that ive seen. The tracers seem popular especially in Europe, so youd think even if having to get it shipped from overseas it would be available. I did see a guy add foam like that to his seat and it did help a bit.

I bought the heated version and I found it horrible. So stiff and unbearable. I even payed extra 300USD to a professional upholsterer to try and to make more adequate. Eventually switched back to the original one and trying to get rid of it now

Have you tried and airhawk or wild ass seat cover? I heard they are really good.

I have a seat like this but it’s rarely uncomfortable.

Where in Canada did you buy this from? I've been trying to track down a place to purchase this since for whatever reason Yamaha is dragging their feet on selling basically all Tracer 9 GT accessories in the US. The Yamaha Canada page says it's not available for purchase online.

I called a Yamaha dealership directly in Canada (in this case in Ontario), in my case I chose one closest to my State in order to reduce shipping fees. They basically got the seat in about a week and shipped it to me.

Great video.. could you pls share the link to buy from canada dealer? and how much including shipping you have paid?

I had to call the dealer with the part number, this one is called Wheelsport, www.wheelsport.ca. I don’t quite remember the price, but it was less than anticipated. They calculated shipping when I called.

It’s a Nelson Riggs tail bag, it’s the Commuter series. They have different sizes, with Touring being the biggest. Sport is a decent size for everyday use.

Does this seat raise the height at all?

It does not seem to raise the height, with the stock seat I could put both feet down on the ball of my feet (so somewhere in between tiptoeing and being flat foot) and that hasn’t changed with the comfort seat.

@@TheSunderlands1 I have a question. Today I got this comfort seat. I had my stock seat adjusted on the higher position and now that I put on this one, it looks like I have it on a lower one. So, are there still two position when you put on the comfort seat? Thanks a lot. :)

@@RRRRefuelRideRace I set mine on the lower setting, but the plastic seat pan looks the same between the stock and comfort so they should both fit the same. I’d have to play with mine, but it may require more force to get it in as opposed to the stock seat.
