Crackin review! And much more enjoy the video quality of the 8, sound is secondary. Crisp clear 1080p makes me feel like I’m in cockpit, and actually soaking in all that lovely country side. Btw... Couldn’t agree more with ya pal, if you spot a pic, go back and snap it! I’ve never EVER said “ughh, wish I didn’t take that pic” it’s the opposite, I’m always glad I did! Photos make the experience and memories, even better. Cheers 🍻

Another top review Richy, agree that at this price point Triumph have hit a home run with this bike. Personally not a fan of matt paint jobs and I prefer the number plate under the tail but customers can’t complain for £7000. Maybe Triumph will do a ltd edition with a few nice upgrades in the future? 🤷‍♂️ Stay safe and well fella 👍🏻

I would absolutely love to buy this Trident as my first big bike, only fault I can see is that there's no room for panniers or a top box, apart from that , what a stunning bike. Will have to settle for the Tiger 900 GT PRO

Cracking bikes I think, I saw one at the petrol station the other day and I thought that rear end was really tidy. I personally would like a negative colour scheme of that one; white tank and frame with black logo, but it does look mega. I feel like Triumph's are really good value in general atm. Take the Tiger 900 Rally Pro for example, that's not far away from the GS in capability (maybe not if you're two up, but you see plenty of people touring on them so they must be more than capable)...and they cost so so so much less! With regards to photography on your phone, do you shoot RAW on that too?

Veni, Vida, veho fruendum - I think he came, and he rode it and enjoyed it. ;) It looks quite ok from the side, and the paintjob is not too shabby, but I lack a windscreen to handle the bugs and stuff, and the instrumentation... Hmmm, don't get me started on that. But all in all a really decent looking bike for that money. You don't expect a Rolls Royce when you pay for a Mini.

It's not just a "current bike design" thing. My old 90s Harley Davison Dyna low Ryder and Wide Glide used to enjoy throwing absolutely everything on the road straight at my legs. I can't tell you how many times I showed up at my then girlfriend now wife's old place looking and smelling like the freeway I just came off of. Mud protection on bikes used to suck back in the day also.

I genuinely love this bike. The MT-07 has it beaten in engine and price. But in every other way, the Trident is better. And if i was buing a first bike, i'd rather have a quality bike that feels and looks amazing, then the minimal extra power of the MT-07. Unless i was getting an R bike, which is between the Ninja 650 and CBR 650R (I'm more into sport bikes. I prefer the sporty seating position), i'd go for the Trident every time. 💖💖💖👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Nice review Richy and there seemed to be very little muck up your back. Heated grips are an option, as is a quickshifter and other stuff like phone connectivity app etc. Those three items for those wanting them would make the price more like £8,000 but still a good value bike in my view, especially from Triumph which is a premium brand with generally quite expensive machines. In the UK, heated grips are almost essential I'd say and a quickshifter is nice to have. I find some of the comment here rather odd though. First, the repeated one about "can you put panniers on it" etc. Well obviously this bike is not designed for that, why look at a Trident if you wanted a load of luggage carrying capacity? Even if there are pannier possibiliities, the fittings would likely ruin the appearance of this great bike. Second, the view that for the same money you could get a better second hand bike. That is always going to be the case with any new bike so it's not a valid criticism of the Trident. Third, the rather insulting suggestion that you are in Triumph's pocket. Having watched loads of your reviews I don't believe that at all. I've always found you to be straightforward and honest.

The thing about Richy is he just loves bikes and biking! There are lots of really good bikes out there and as long as they tick your boxes you are going to love the ride. Something I realised from my days of mountain biking was that it was far more important to get out on the trails riding rather than becoming an armchair warrior arguing about whether your bike was better than some other very similar bike. The same is true for motorcycling. We need to get out and ride. 😊

Lovely bike, but no pillion provision, like so many others to be fair. So much more fun riding with your missus, n'est pas? My missus is now a big part of any biking or buying decision. Perhaps I'm just lucky, but it's great not to have to justify going for a ride. And proper mudguards should not need an aftermarket update. But, nice. Happy travels.

It's just another bike like my MT07, get it out on sunny days only as the weather protection is crap and you can't take a pillion. If this is the way bikes are going, I think I will have to get a maxi scooter as I ride all year round and God forbid I take my wife out with me.

Steve, the great thing about fashion is that it means some people have to rush out sell their existing bike and buy the latest look. That means that the rest of us get to buy great second hand bikes for a fraction of their original price. 😁

To be honest if I could back 2 years I wouldn't have got the MT07, I would have got either a Honda or a maxi scooter. Yamaha build quality is not the best especially if you ride all year round.

Like a lot of bikes (and cars), on the right road and the right weather they may be brilliant at doing the job .... but for the rest of the year you need a compromise bike which by definition means that on any road in any condition there always some specific bike which will do that job better. I have always bought compromise bikes that do commuting, touring and back lane scratching at about 80% efficiency and I love them.

  • @stevebonner9108

What do you call a compromise bike. The only bikes I know of with what I want are either adventure bikes - to pricey. Or maxi scooter which are a compromise as in cc and power. Saying that I had a Burgman 125 that took me and wife anywhere even motorways comfortably.

Steve, try some older bikes, my current bike is 25 years old, cost £1500 and has been great fun to ride one up on twisty roads as well as taking in 300 mile days packed with camping gear. Its an old VFR750, not an out and out sports bike or a full on tourer, its a great compromise. In an earlier biking life in the 80's I had smaller 400cc machines that were better compromises for the daily commuting in London I was dojng then and the occasional camping trip to Cornwall. I have never ridden a modern Bergman style bike but I can imagine they are pretty versatile machines with good weather protection and storage. Personally I look for bikes which were great in their day but are now out of fashion. Those are the bargains!

HAHA always makes me smile reading these comments all those moaning who is going to spend 7k on there first bike they need to get in the 21st century there are plenty of young people who wouldn't think twice at dropping 7k on one of these, If you have just come out your apprenticeship at 21 still living at home & picking up north of 30k a year 7 grand is nothing most are brought on a pcp deal anyway take a look next time you put fuel in what cars the young people drive now days. Triumph are in the business of making money they will have done there research who this is aimed at By the way rich where's that canal ? was expecting 3 old codgers in an up turned bath to come along lol

It looks mediocre and rides very mediocre. Then the triumph marketing department goes into overdrive selling a very mediocre motorcycle to be something it actually isnt

Yet again, I feel I have to defend the way I review? Having seen all your other comments on others’ comments, it seems you think I am having some form of back-handers from Triumph? It makes no difference to me if you or any anyone decide to - or not to - purchase this - or any other bike I review. No difference at all. Why would I “try” and sell it? That’s not why we are given these bikes. They give them to us purely to “show” them. If you enjoy it, it may in turn make you go and try one yourself. It may not. Really, it’s as simple as that. “Salesman”, I am not.

I'm no sales and demographics expert but most first time 'big bike buyers' id guess are now people in their 30's and 40's with a reasonable disposable income. Given most new bikes are bought on PCP deals maybe Richy could've said a monthly PCP price for the more pedantic among us, and id assume the PCP deals are pretty similar to most other 'starter big bikes' eg MT07's, cb650r's, Ninja 650's etc.
