2021 Triumph Tiger 850 Sport revealed | Engine start and details

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The #Triumph #Tiger850Sport - a more accessible variation of the Tiger 900 using the same 888cc, three-cylinder, T-plane crank motor although with a slightly different tune is a road focused, A2 licence compliant #adventure bike aimed at enticing more riders into the Tiger range earlier.
At £9300, it hits the magic sub-£10k mark too. Bennetts BikeSocial's Michael Mann was one of the first outside of Triumph to prod, poke and produce questions about the new machine ahead of the official information being released to the public.

If tiger wanted to make a cheaper more manageable new bike for new riders. They should have made a 650 adventure. This bike isn't really that affordable for new riders. Get that price down to 6 to 7 grand. That's a winner.

Not too worried about the negativity in these comments. I was looking for a versatile bike with about 80 horsepower, a comfortable riding position, easy luggage carrying, a centre stand, and an interesting engine feel and sound. This is exactly it and I have already placed an order. I have no interest in whether Triumph sell 10 of these or 1 million. Are there really riders here who can't get enough road performance from an engine with this wide torque band and power? I suppose nothing in the Tiger range would really suit them if they actually want to be chasing up and down dual carriageways and motorways for their riding kicks. I prefer the leafy back lanes that this bike is ideal for.

Here you go Triumph... from the comments seen below this is what your customers want... 1. A brand new 1050 Sport that replicates or betters the BMW S1000XR 2. A 660 Triple Tiger for new A2 riders with an entry cost of around £7,000 3. A brand new Tiger 1200 to really put the cat amongst the KTM/BMW/Multistrada crew rather than just a Alpine/Desert mid spec editions that no-one really wants. 4. Some proper paint schemes that look desirable. 5. Connectivity that actually works (still waiting for this over 2 years now on existing Tiger 12) 6. Production moved back to UK or just put a Thailand badge on the tank. You can’t have it both ways. 7. Some better dealers. Not sure what the issues are but clearly some people are not happy with your dealers 8. Less talk about bikes being manageable or targeted at people who want a manageable bike. Do these customers exist? I want exciting, fun, innovative, unique, British. Manageable sounds like a dull car...

I like it. Colours are good and I'm all for softer tunes. For a touring style motorcycle a softer tune will equal more relaxed riding. I've test rode a few new bikes recently and actually prefer to leave rain mode on! They generally feel nicer for 90% of the time. If you don't agree, spend a bit more and get a 900.

Such a failure of the marketing of this bike, they call it sport and it is in fact a even more basic version of tiger 900... Who the hell buys a bike labeled as "sport" when it has less power and a more tamed engine than the rally version?? And then we have the price, closer to the 900xr/tracer 900 than the 750gs/tracer 700, but with specs closer to the laters. Do the people in triumph don't understand that costumers wanted a more sporty version of the tiger 900 with 17" front wheel, squeezed engine and shorter suspensions and not this blant moderated thing they came up with...

Actually, I think marketing got it right. This is because there is an inflation of terms of recent times. Sport has now come to mean basic. Just look at the Audi or BMW websites, "sport" is usually the term reserved for the lowest trims for any car in both manufacturers. That's just the way it is now, sport means basic.

BMW has M sport and then the M versions, more expensive than basic, advantage, xLine and other versions. Anyway, why you bring high-premium car brands to justify some nonsense of the marketing of a medium budget motorbike brand...

On March 13, 2021, I ordered the Tiger 850 sports version at the Beijing dealer Dade Liangju Kaixuan store, the color is red, and I paid a deposit. The salesperson Ms. Liu and the grumpy Mr. Wang agreed to arrive in two and a half months. Until the end of June, during the period, Ms. Liu exaggerated the process, misled the buyer, bought the car process, lacked product knowledge, and spoke inconsistently. Based on the feedback from some domestic car owners on the vehicle's oil leakage, I asked Miss Liu if she could do a detailed test. She replied that DPI testing can improve quality. After that, Ms. Liu suddenly proposed to test the car on the road. Here, she told me that this was a testing process and misled me. After the test, she asked a third person to conduct a road test on my car. I can accept the normal DPI test. However, these contents were misunderstood by the store manager, after-sales service, and general manager that I refused to test the car. At the beginning of July, I asked the salesperson Ms. Liu again, and their promise was not fulfilled, and then Ms. Liu suddenly notified me that I had to pay tariffs. At this point, I have lost my trust in Beijing dealers. I now seriously complain to the dealers in Beijing, including all sales, after-sales managers and general managers. They promised that the car will arrive in two and a half months, but the car did not arrive until the end of June. The salesman tried to make trouble and asked me to return the goods. After that, the general manager Ms. Jin actually denied that my car had arrived in Beijing. Their statements are inconsistent. I seriously suspect that they sold my car to other people at a high price for personal gain. Said it was for my sake, malicious slander, and very poor service attitude. As a customer, I was very angry. The Shanghai distributor told me that after the price increase at the end of June, due to the shortage of chips, several models such as the Tiger 850 Sport will not arrive until 2022. However, Jinan dealers have already delivered five Tiger 850 Sport in early July. The situation of Jinan dealers is seriously inconsistent with what the Beijing dealers said. In addition, the general dealer in Shanghai, China was unable to provide service specifications to regional dealers, which resulted in me being unable to get my motorcycle. I asked the British headquarters to perform the contract and return my car. In response to the problems and loopholes reflected above, it is hoped that the UK headquarters can thoroughly investigate and prevent commercial fraud.

Before you hang me I love the 900 Tiger, and I say that as an ex as 800 Tiger xcx owner , I especially like the 900 rally-pro as it answers all the niggles I had with the 800 and some, Better suspension, power and kit. BUT, why does this 850 “sport”, yet slower, oh the irony, even exist. I’m sure that on normal roads the 850 sport and 900 GT will feel pretty similar, and it looks similar too, apart from the unfinished paint job. (Come on Karl, think of a quirky paint scheme that’ll fool the empire ) So what’s the point in the 850 sport, clearly there are political reasons, maybe different rules and regs( the old euro 850cc/85bhp trend) however, if the 900 gt simply had less gizmos and a slightly lower price point I’m sure sales would fly, ... Sadly I can only hear, Hi mate ”oh you bought the cheap one” ... and who wants the cheap one... ? Riders buy and ride bikes to show off a bit, it’s about pride of ownership.... we all want to be the rebellious biker deep down, even the accountants.... so I’m left flummoxed by this bike, not that it’s a bad bike but it’s so close to the Tiger 900 gt, which, incidentally, with a well worked pcp deal will not be that much more to buy either.... my Tiger 900 reviews @threesixmoto Cheers Ride safe...

Rather than just cutting the power through the ECU, how about revising the intake and exhaust for low-down torque and adding some flywheel weight for easier clutch starts, smoother power and better traction? Then the bike would truly match the rhetoric. And I never understood the high tail design. It makes it harder to swing a leg over, raises the height of the seat and luggage, and makes it impossible to change your seating position on those long rides. This bike has no redeeming features even for a beginner, and looks like an opportunity lost.

Interesting bike; looks like it could sell. However, from my point of view, aside from many new bikes being presented as an excuse to sell accessories, the weak link in the production/distribution chain has little to do with Triumph products. What impedes an actual purchase is access to a reliable Triumph dealership. If there was a way to effectively cut out the useless glass boutique’s take of the cut and buy one configured direct from factory, I’d consider ordering a new bike. Personally, I’ve bought four new motorcycles in the last ten years and I just can’t bring myself to run that gauntlet again . . .

This is utter bollocks. Even Miles Perkins doesn't sound convinced about his own product. It's just a detuned variant of a bike they never had any orders for wearing a different coloured frock. It's not a new for 2021 model Triumph's strap line always used to be 'Go Your Own Way' but that should now be changed to 'Following BMW' If Triumph want to make in roads in to BMW's market then a good place to start would be by supplying the bikes with a 3 year manufacturers warranty
