    One of the things that is great about Scubapro is the ability to get parts decades after the product came out. I have a 1977 Mk2 and the regulator is still made today. I also have mk5''s the original balanced piston and can get parts for it. Both of these models came out in the 1960's. A Scubapro regulator can last a lifetime.

    In the second stage regulators you mentioned, it is only in the D420 that you didn’t mention any side pressure adjustments. I recently bought the D420 (paired with first stage yoke MK25 Evo), and only two mechanisms can be found: the purge button in front and the dive/pre-dive switch on the top of the casing for adjusting the direction of airflow right out of the valve. So, did the design of the D420 eliminate or simplified the pressure control system found in the other ScubaPro 2nd stage regulators? Or is it something already inherent in the internal mechanism of the D420? Thank you very much for your great video. Appreciate that a lot.

    great video, one question does all balance regulator have the same ease of breathing or not?

  • @DiversSupplyYT

    @DiversSupplyYT

    2 жыл бұрын

    so this is a bit of a loaded question BUT, my .02 is the 2nd stage is more of a factor in ease of breathing than the 1st. In connection to this, two of the same 2nds if adjusted differently will breath differently. First stages will provide different features, hose routing, turrets, envior sealing etc... and of course making sure your tank valve is all the way open. Many of these "tests" require a machine to tell differences in "system" performance. So my answer is actually, Yes and No...

    Great video. I'm a beginner diver with 50 dives. I used equipment rented so far, but I started putting together my own gear. All that is missing is a respirator. I chose Scuba Pro, but I'm worried about exactly which type to buy. I think for me the MK17 with the C370 or the S620Ti would be the best, however the G260's design what I like much. Moreover I have the opportunity to buy an S600 with MK17 with a very very good price. I would like to ask if it is worth buying S600 or should I pay more for the S620Ti? I read that the S620 Ti’s work of breathing has been reduced by 37% over the S600. I have a rescue qualification right now and would like to be a divemaster in the future. I look for the most suitable set for these conditions. Can you recommend one for me? Thanks and sorry for my bad English.

    No worries Peter, The MK-17 is a winner in my book as is the newer MK-19. For 2nd stages i most cases you would need to be a machine to tell the difference between some of them. I've always been a fan of my G-250 now 260, but if you really want my recommendation ??? I'm going with MK-19 / D420 or MK-17 / G260 Regards Bob C

    Diving Scubapro since my beginning years ago, never had any issue with my regs. Started with Mk17/A700/C200, still using it today. Expanded with the Mk25, as I had to be coldwater-capable. Now transitioning to technical diving, I‘ve got a question. Looking for two Mk19 as 1st stages, yet cannot decide between D420 and G260. Considering also to keep one, or maybe stick with the A700 for both. I’m doing lot of dives with drygloves and would appreciate your advice.

    Mario, the Mk17 has always been a fav of mine and now that the Mk19 has come on the scene adding the turret fully agree with that move. The 260 vs 420 is an interesting debate but I'd go 420. The breathing adjustment on top and the large purge "plus" being able to reverse the 420 would swing me in it's direction.

    @@DiversSupplyYT Thank you for your answer. I think of the Mk19 as a grown up Mk17. Are the D420 and G260 restricted in use of trimix? Is one ore the other less suitable for that purpose? How about the combination of Mk19 and A700? I know it’s not certified by Scubapro, but it is therefore not appropriate?

    Hi Katherine, Good question and one I see often. Both of these regs are great breathers. Since you're only asking about the 2nd stage, I'll answer this way. The A700 is more compact but lots of metal vs the composite construction of the slightly larger D420. They weight almost the same. Both regs have rubber hoses off their turreted 1st stages, which can be a bit stiff under pressure but the turret does allow some movement. Between the two 1st stages, the MK19 would be my choice vs the MK25, But I'm sure you'll get lots of other opinions. Regards and thanks for the question. Bob C

  • @DiversSupplyYT

    @DiversSupplyYT

    6 ай бұрын

    Sorry Christian for the delayed response but still trying to get through all the DEMA info.. Well it's still Cyber Monday for a few hours. So here's a couple notes about your choices there. The Mikron is solid, good breather and compact 2nd, it's plus is the ACD. Not a major advantage but it's there. The Mk11/370 has the SP name and solid performance, but it's price is a little steeper than the Mikron and the Mikron has the more flexible 2nd stage hose. If you're influenced by the Techies, they will poo-poo the braided vs the SP's rubber 2nd stage hose. Yes it smells good but can be stiff. To stay compact, and since you don't seem put off by the SP's price range, I'd throw in a 3rd choice. The XL4 by Apeks. It has the compact 2nd, very nice and the 2nd's hose is braided so it's nice and flexible. The one thing I believe is an advantage over the other two, is it has an environment sealed 1st stage. Oh, you're in Florida, no cold water. An Environmental sealed 1st is NOT just for cold water, it helps with keeping out Salt Water and Crappy Dirty Water and yes cold water if you ever went there. Just my .02 Regards Bob C

    Thank you, Bob, for another great and informative video. I’m just getting into scuba diving and have learned so much from all of your videos. I’m favoring the MK19 Evo over the MK25 Evo because MK19 Evo seems to have all the features of the MK25 and it’s also environmentally sealed. Is the MK19 Evo compatible with the S620ti, and would you recommend the S620ti or the D420 with the MK19 Evo? The selling point of the S620ti for me is that it’s titanium so it’s light and more importantly corrosion resistant. But I do like the retro look of the D420, and having more control with the purge button. FYI, I’ll be pairing the second stage with the Scubapro Frameless Mask.

    Thanks Satiar, I appreciate you watching the channel and thank your again for your comments. The 420 is a bit bulkier than the 620 and slightly more expensive, but at this range not much of a percentage. I glanced at the '22 SP catalog and did not see a Mk19/620 combo, but sure you can get them separate and add a hose. FYI on the 620, only the barrel is Ti not the whole 2nd stage. For me, and just my .02, I'd go Mk19/D420. Regards Bob C.

    @@DiversSupplyYT I’m fine with the price difference. I care more about getting the best for comfort, quality, and it’s intended use. From what I’ve gathered by doing some research, diaphragm is also better for use in warm and cold water, which is why I’m favoring the MK19 Evo over the MK25 Evo, and DIN is a more “bulletproof” setup than yoke. That's what I use with my HP tanks and teach the majority of instructors with. If I dove in non-direct to the surface environments I'd use DIN. - As far as Dive watches go, I've always loved them. Bought my 1st in 1969. I have a few brands; Seiko, Helm, Spinnaker, Casio and others plus my Hulk. - Bought my first Submariner 1970 at the Navy Exchange in Naples Italy.
