This is the best system on the market I have compared it to lexicon, B&O, B&W, Burmester and other systems. It's the best balanced system and when you turn it up it's the least distorted.

The one in LS, CT200 and the LC is by far the best systems. And agreed when compared to other manufacturers as well.

It’s amazing

This is outstanding just bought this car with this system and I'm sitting here in my car now watching this review playing through the system. Amazing. I listen to all genres of music. Excellent review. I also listen to my old school Klipish sound in my media room however I love to come out and just sit and listen. I had an s63 Benz with the B&O upgrade sound system. I got tied of people trying to race me all the time and I don't miss the B&O. I just want to relax and get there on my own time. This is the car to do it in.

You replied to my posting about the Mark Levinson 23 speaker system and you mentioned a like fir Klipsch. I do too and have a pair of LaScalas that are terrific 🏖️

@Longest Stride I have not try the A8’s, but I tried the Q8’s , which is also the advance one, it’s pretty good but not quite as good as the ML system in the LS and the GX. Also the Burmester in the S class and the B&W system in the volvo are better.

Most reviewers barely mention the sound system, and some avoid turning it on so they dont get slapped with a copywrited music violation. I can understand that if it's a press event and you may have half an hour with the car, but some of these reviewers keep the car for a week or longer and barely mention it...or they will tell you their opinion of how it sounds with no actual sound clips🙄

Really hoping you do the GS one of these days. I know they don't make it anymore but jesus it's a good car.

Please do a audio review on premium audio in older volvos such as a P2 Volvo V70 or S60. Those speaker still bump to this day as my friend owns one.

I have a friend with a CT6 with the 34 speaker system. I played with the stereo a lot but honestly, my 2013 Acura TL ELS 10 speaker system sounds better especially when I play a 5.1 DVD-Audio. All those speakers can't compare to a well tuned system being fed hi-res discrete multi-channel.audio. Then again, he just listens to rap in MP3 format so the Cadillac system is good enough for that.

I couldn't deal with my music being cut off, the infotainment is a complete deal breaker for me, there is a such thing as "too safe" to the point it becomes annoying and constricting. Hope they do better because the outer looks of the car are astonishing they just need a new tech team. Maybe mr toyota will write another letter to em. Nice vid Charlie 👌 👍 👏

You're welcome and thank you! Unfortunately we haven't driven the ES lately, but we are supposed to be getting a 2021 model in the first few months of next year. Stay tuned!

That seems annoying that the traffic alert beeps intrude on the music. Can that feature be turned off?

I have a question when you stop for a red light is the car shut off and then goes on automatic and do they have a switch that just stays on let me know thank you

Are you sure it can handle 5.1 or 7.1 discreetly? I checked with Lexus and they said to refer to the manual, which says it can only handle 2.0 stereo. Could you try some surround files. Thanks.

Great video and playlist, thanks for sharing! What I find hugely disappointing is that their infotainment system is incredibly dated. The Benz COMAND NTG 5.5 system is far more advanced than that of Lexus and COMAND is now considered to be dated with the introduction of MBUX system. AUDI MIB 2 MMI system is far more advanced and so is BMW's software. Many reviewers say Lexus has the worst infotainment system on the market when compared to others in the same price point. However, what Lexus has on other is their reliability! I almost bought a 2019 ES350 but the major audio system flaw made me buy a E-class instead. Music is everything when driving!

Wonder how the 2008 LS460 Mark compare to the new one....

I remember when the ML first debut in the 2001 LS430, everyone raved about it, saying it was the best high end sound system ever, especially in the ultra hushed LS interior. It’ll be interesting for you to do a audio test to see if the original ML is still the “best” or if the industry has surpassed the 2001 industry best.

The funny thing is compare my GS ML to my high end Volvo sound systen, the Mark Levinson is not a big deal. I would say it's a premium system, but far from high end

Haha! I should do a video next time I have a good sound system where I play my favorite songs. My taste oscillates between metal, rock, r&b/rap, and pop. I'll go from Tool to Taylor Swift. My favorite band is Delain, but some of my other top artists are Arianna Grande, Selena Gomez, Nightwish, Vulfpeck, Yung Gravy, Diablo Swing Orchestra, and Nicki Minaj. Man I really hope so. Audi has been frustratingly silent to our requests, and Tesla doesn't have a PR department :P I've been considering buying a base Model 3 and using it for a long-term test along with TheTopher. Want to join a Patron and pay our loan? :D

This one hands down. This is the best system for me I have listened to lexicon in genesis, B&O in X5, B&W I. 750i, and Bose Performance series in C8. B&W is better in bass but ML overall especially when turned up all the way

You said the Lexus ELS sound system is better.....you mean Acura?

the mark levinson system sounds great when its working i own a 08 ls460 i had to replace the oem ML amplifer 3 times since ive owned the car with the premium sound system very annoying lexus shouldve recalled it the location where the amp is not good in my opinion seems like the amp could overheat and cause failure

Hard to say. The latest MLs haven't been outstanding, but I still appreciate them. I have a Lexus TX with the 21-speaker ML coming tomorrow, so that will be interesting.@@AlKororo99

the limitation with the touchscreen are to do with driver distraction these systems are borderline dangerous they are trying to limit functionality who wants a car crash because someone was able to scroll through thier entire music library on the move

This Mark Levinson sound system is some of the best money can buy next to the Bowers & Wilkins audio system in the Volvo S90. The new 4D audio system from Burmester is just junk and something of annoyance when driving, just disappointing like in my opinion the whole new generation of the S - Class from Mercedes because of the best or nothing. Processing defects everywhere you look and the reliability leaves a lot to be desired, especially when it comes to electronics defects.
