The Discovery is the forgotten mid size luxury SUV in a world filled with GLEs, X5s, RXs, Aviators and MDXs. This is the way to go if you want something different.

In what world is a Defender better than a Discovery. Defenders are mainly for off road use. Who in their right mind is going to spend 70k for a car just for off roading? Most driving is done on the road. Defender is not as roomy inside. This won't work for people who like to travel. I'd put my money on Discovery any day. Screw cool points of a Defender. I think Discovery is cooler than a rudimentary looking Defender.

In two worlds: 1 - Off-road 2 - In a world where expensive fashion objects are more important than having what you actually need I'd take a Disco over a Defender any day. Better on-road manners, better comfort (not just cushioning, but sound insulation comfort too, etc), more space for people, 7 adult seats just in case, all the off-roading capability 99% of people will ever need. The list could go on and on. Defenders are like iPhones, everyone wants one, very few people actually need one.

In Taiwan what you mention doesn't make sense, the wealthy would like to be N defender just for fun. Futhermore, the order already lined up to 2022, no offense. BTW, the cheapest defender in Taiwan is around 2780000 NTD

@@user-jg6fx2qb9j That's ridiculous. You don't buy a car because of what the wealthy buy. You buy for practicality. What Marco stated is correct. Defender is an expensive crap box. It can't touch a Discovery. Hands down, off road, and especially on road. Four people can barely fit into a Defender. If they do, its a tight fit.

Discovery is good more especially when it comes to the mountain drive, perfect

Hmm, you mentioned that the Velar you tested before didn't have air suspension? Air suspension is a standard for every Velar trim. What did you mean?

Wow I had no clue this existed, but it looks great! I’d probably still get a defender over this just for the “cool” factor, but this packs a ton of value compared to the RR sport and standard RR.

Awww Ben you missed the cool hidden storage this thing has. I would go so far to call it the KING of storage in the automotive world. Cool hidden located below the new infotainment screen (which was skipped over also 😕) and more hidden storage under the cup holders.

Looks like the infotainment isn't responsive. Also, is it worth better than an audi Q7.

If you are considering MDX, GLE, XC90, or Aviator you have to put this on your test drive list. Great vehicle and pretty good looking in dark exterior colors. Also personally I don’t really see this as a “Defender” alternative. I think they target two different audiences. The Defender is more of a “niche” or “specialty” vehicle. Think Toyota FJ Cruiser, Mercedes G-Wagon or the upcoming Ford Bronco. Bronco buyers are not gonna be interested in Explorers or Edges. Nor are A-list celebrities going to Mercedes to pick up a GLE, they want the G-Wagon. Defender and Discovery are both great in their own respects. They just have two different aims and philosophies.

Looks a lot like a Ford Explorer from the front just like the Fusion looked very “Aston Martinesque.” Very nice but as is always the knock on British vehicles, stylish but “high Maintenence.”

There has to be some relativity there or the statement has no validity. I did some checking and you are correct, it turns out that Honda’s and Bentleys have the same maintenance schedules and reliability ratings. You got me bru.

@@handyman2183 -Da Hannah. Your assertion that British vehicles is based on what? Again, have you ever owned a Land Rover or a British vehicle for that matter. To make such an assertion, one would have to assume that you had the benefit of owning such a vehicle. Otherwise, what you are saying comes off as hearsay or conjecture. I stated that all vehicles are high maintenance because that contain a vast array of electronics, sensors, and computers that break down with frequency. This, to the average person, can have a negative impact on ones finances. So, in your world, this may mean absolutely nothing to you, but to most folks, it does.

The Range Rover line for off road is impressive and luxurious but after that u know what happen every time u go for repairs
