Hey David you're videos are amazing, thanks for taking the time to make them. How many tires did you go through during the TOI

We started with a new set, then we replaced them on D6 in Salmon. We finished the Tour on those, but there wasn’t much left…🤪

looks like you went with the Lucky MX tech front end fork setup what's the difference between the stock suspension XPLOR forks and MX tech? how close are they was it worth the upgrade? what did the OEM forks not do well that you wanted to fix?

Both of my wrists are bad due to old injuries. The stock XPLOR forks worked fairly well for me, however the feedback on initial impact was very harsh and made my wrists not happy. This occurred on any type of terrain, gravel roads included. So after much research, I decided to try the MXTECH Lucky Forks and I could not be happier. They are plush but never bottom due to the Huck Valve. I was so impressed, I installed them on my other bikes and several of my friends bought them as well, and they all reported the same positive comments. They work well for me and well worth the $1200 vs. they if to revalve the stock suspension.

how much fuel did you actually have to carry with you to make the longest stretch? what kind of gas mileage did you get? thanks

The longest stretch was Elk City to Superior MT. The planned route was 314 miles with no food/gas options. We used 40mpg for planning and we added 25% over required fuel in case of closures requiring us to back track. So leaving Elk City we need 9.8 gallons of fuel. Our tanks held 4 gal and we hauled 5 gal in our gas bags.

@@davidpowell5015 man that's a long way and a lot of fuel to carry. I would imagine it would be really annoying to carry that much extra fuel on single track roads
