Gonna get this as a first car. Gorgeous. The features, the design, and the sound of the car are amazing for the price in my opinion.

My first car was a Kia and it was top notch compared to the other options I had. Miss her everyday🕊

I like this Topher gentleman. He is soft spoken and not brazen. I like my friends to have gentle voices like him. He seems like a classy guy with impeccable taste and thoughtful observations

If you covered up the Kia logos and asked someone what car this was, they'd think it was a BMW or a Lexus. Kia and Hyundai are killing the game!

I absolutely love that the interior is driver-focused (angled toward driver, not flat). Wish there were SUVs like that

Just bought a k5 GT line with the premium package yesterday, in passion red. Beautiful, drives great, plenty of get up and go. Love it!

Ive always loved kia's interior, like its beyond amazing for an affordable car and this one nails it!

Friggin love that interior color, wish it was available on every Kia/Hyundai/Genesis vehicle.

I bought one last week!! It’s so much fun, such great torque. Biggest flaw is that it is front wheel drive but honestly the torque steer is practically non existent compared to a focus ST I test drove.

@@Storm-sh9nw there’s no way anyone here can tell you that. It depends on your credit history, down payment, price of the new Kia, and if you negotiate. Also it depends if you have a trade in and how much you own. It depends which trim level you buy and so on. But anywhere from $300-$550 on average.

The thing about the traction control with Kia/Hyundai is that they've done it in the way where it cuts power since the Genesis coupe, so I don't think that's gonna change anytime soon.

I had a 2014 Kia Optima SX. Had the same constant creaking and rattling from the sunroof. Drove me insane. That and other issues caused me to get rid of it and get a Lexus ES.

How was the used Lexus?

The K5 GT Line AWD is miles better. Especially with the grey and red interior that is what I have. It handles VERY well.

Hi there! I have the EX premium package, the only thing I haven’t figured out is if they’re is any way to change the SiriusXM interface. I used to have the Optima and I like when it shows my channels as a drop down in a list. This one looks kinda complicated the way it is set up now.

@@angelovalavanis2314 Not really. It's roughly the same price. But for $34k you can get the Hyundai Sonata Limited (K5 sibling) with the digital gauge cluster. But I don't see the worth while of having it. As the K5 is more 'sporty' looking. and the analog gauges imo fit it more.

Kia makes the wireless Apple Car Play/Android Auto feature available only on the smaller 8.5-inch infotainment screen.

I drive a 2016 optima and I was hoping they would address their aggressive traction control. It’s so awful driving my car in the lightest precipitation. As soon as the car senses the tiniest slip is cuts down power tremendously. I really wished they would’ve fixed that. Overall I think the k5 is amazing. Up there with the new accord as my favorite in this class

Good plan. We spent a week in an LXS and was so impressed we kicked off our channel with a POV driving review.

You all should consider a Mazda 6 with Turbo! I just bought one and it’s glorious

Unpopular opinion: I think the EX is the best-looking K5. I still think they should have kept the Optima name (and why can't you get AWD on all trim levels??) but this looks like a really solid effort. Always liked the Optimas and I like this. For $28k it seems like a great deal. Much more desirable to me than an Accord or Camry, and more current than the Mazda6.

I have the lxs trim but what I’ve noticed is that the ones with wireless Apple CarPlay have serious connection issues

I know K5 and Sonata are similar but if you had to choose between these 2, which one would you choose?

this needs a digital dash ASAP.

What sound settings do you use when you do the test? All stock 0s on bass ect?

They shoulda put power folding mirrors on the k5 like it was on the optima

I agree. I would have gotten the EX AWD. But AWD is IMO necessary in this car. It handles WAY better than the FWD version. I put about 30 miles on each FWD and AWD... the AWD version handles and feels much better. Even over bumps, I think they upgraded suspension with AWD... but there is a noticable difference.

I think they do / it’s the GT that doesn’t get AWD. And Topher said here that you can get AWD. Please do a little research and confirm what I’m telling you so you can go get one

It’s out and I got one- it’s 290hp but it needs AWD- too much power to the front and hard to get grip

I definitely preferred the Forte GT. Same engine, more power, lighter car. Which means it's much quicker. Fully loaded and out the door for $23k.

I felt like I was the one driving cos that's I-96 and 275 highway in MI.

Wireless Apple car play and Wireless Android Auto is not available on that 10.25” screen, only on the 8.5” screen.

I absolutely love heated seats that are super hot. That’s the one complaint I have with my Accord. I live in Canada and the heated seats is not as hot as I would like on the highest setting. Like I want it to BURN me.

"creaks and rattles"....a showstopper for me.

Great video but, saying that this drives the same as the Optima is totally wrong. I have a 2019 Optima and when I test drove the new K5 GT-line model it’s a totally different car, different suspension, much better, and the cabin in the noise is much lower, even other channels say it has the isolation of a luxury car.

IMO they are far less vanilla and generic looking than the white ones. The big bright amber DRLs make the K5 stand out much more than anything its surrounded by

Bad ass ride but if it has the Theta II engine I'd stay away...it's a ticking time bomb.
