2021 Ducati Multistrada 950S review - the fast, red Italian is worth every penny! | OVERDRIVE

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The 2021 Ducati Multistrada 950 is now available in India only in its S variant, which does make it fairly pricey, but if you have the means it is undoubtedly the best adventure tourer in the middleweight category. Not convinced? Watch the video to understand Rohit's perspective.

Looking at the monumental jump the larger Multi took from the 1260 to V4 maybe a Multi V2 is next on the cards for Ducati. Just wish this one was closer to the 15 OTR mark. Would have made it a no-brainer choice.

V1k is heavier and it's a task to handle that amount of load in the city. It has less electronics and it certainly isn't a good looking one. The engine is linear and tractable. You can do 40kmph at 5th gear with a pillion and loaded luggage. At 4.5k rpm you can do 110/120 with pillion, loaded panniers and top box. If road touring is what you are looking for then the Versys1000 is the way to go and save some money. Kawasaku is expensive to maintain but cheaper than Ducati/bmw. I'm myself a versys owner and love it.

@@rrishi997 well said brother, somehow i find AT1100 more vfm at that price point, i knw both bike has different scenario but Africa twin is drastically cheaper to maintain and it has slightly better feature compare to Multistrada 950S

If I may add ..Kawasaki would also be more reliable….Ducati’s are still extremely quirky bikes.

@@ydh1997 what does this ducati do more, carry more vegetables may be ? 113bhp vs 187bhp , another level of riding experience.

@@borkarms The Ducati is a practical bike. The Hayabusa is good poser bike when you want to show off but otherwise that 120mm ground clearance is going to cause a ton of issues especially with a pillion. 187 bhp is excellent at ensuring you die a horrible death on Indian roads. I haven't seen any other bike in my local groups that has killed their owners more than Hayabusa. Not sure why that is but 187 bhp is just overkill for Indian roads with the emphasis on 'kill'. The Ducati has amazing suspension which ensures no matter how bad the roads the bike can handle it.

@@brendonfernandes2877 Agree with your views, my only issue is Ducati has not priced the 950 Cc Multistrada competitively in price conscious Indian market, Most would prefer the bike without the electronic Suspension which increases prices by 3000 euros. At least the non ESA version should be available as option. Both bikes made for totally different purposes , but closely priced. Ducati unknown, Busa a legend in India.

@@borkarms The Busa is an amazing bike no doubt about it. But on Indian roads it's not that great. The bike is very heavy for a litre class bike which makes handling a little tricky when going fast. A few months back two busa owners died on the same day in my city mainly because they couldn't squeeze through traffic due to the large size and crashed. One of them died while trying to go between two trucks and his exhaust clipped some protrusion from the truck which caused him to lose his balance and the truck ran over him. In the second incident in another part of my city the guy was accelerating hard and there was some gravel on the road and without traction control he slipped and died. In comparison you rarely see other litre class owners dying even though those bike reach speeds far more than what our roads can support because they are more compact and designed for sharp handling and have better electronics. The new Hayabusa has much better electronics but it's still a big heavy bike with relatively poor handling and bad ground clearance. Agree with you on the pricing. Ducatis were never cheap but this is a bit excessive given that these are primarily road bikes and not really meant for serious off roading
