@@andysmith9243 well considering I’m from the U.K.. if your on a CBT which all begginers start on for at least a year. You have to have 125cc or 50cc no bigger. And even if you pass your full test you can upgrade from a 125cc until your 19 .... so yes it is the perfect beginner bike

@@millitaryofficial913 that makes sense! I forget how different the rules are around the world. I’m sure you’ll be good with that. Unless you want to race, it’s always much more comfortable to ride something like that. Comfort and casual riding is the best way to go!

I was riding this bike in my motorcycle training course , I loved it so much. I was the only person really giving it throttle in the class. It felt so good and now I’m watching videos on it Because I miss it soo much. I have a Yamaha Ct1 175 , and the difference is insane but obviously there is a 50 year difference. I want to buy this as my next bike whenever I can. Hands down recommend this bike to anyone who is starting out. And before riding this bike I was more of an Harley , Indian cruiser guy. But after riding the bmw my opinion has completely changed and now I want that.

I think BMW is discovering that this is also selling as a great second bike, or for downsizing for us aging baby boomers. It’s a hoot to ride without putting your license in jeopardy and it takes you back to your first bike. Ahh, the feeling of being a teenager again, if only while thrashing this little roadster around. Well worth the modest price of admission.

  • @bfarm44

Let’s not diminish the fact that it’s also a great around town bike for those of us who have been riding a long time also. After 36 years in the saddle we appreciate the changes in the smaller cc bikes that are now available with features that didn’t exist back in the 70’s. While stripped down versions of smaller bikes were available they lacked the advantages of todays technologies. Nothing should be considered an entry level motorcycle ever. It’s a tool box, every tool has a purpose. Try viewing the various options that way.

I am 70 years old, I haven’t ridden a motorcycle for 46 years, my last bike was the magnificent BMW R90S. 10 years ago I read of the launching of the R NineT and was struck by the similarity to the R90S, I felt the urge to have another go at riding. The local BMW dealer had an open day recently and invited bikers to come and ride their demo models. Not feeling confident enough to ride the R NIneT I booked a ride on the G310R.

I just bought this as my first motorcycle and I love it! looks a lot more expensive than it is, good power, nice variety of info on the dash. I'm going to have to disagree with you on the ride and seat, I think its pretty smooth, and the seat is pretty cushiony, also, great bright LED headlight and lights. the absolute top speed is 100 MPH under perfect conditions. the only thing I don't like is its a tad vibratey but that's to be expected on a single cylinder. I found it to be a little taller, heavier and beefier than I thought it would be when I saw it in person, I actually don't think its an absolute beginner beginner bike if you never even sat on a bike, I would say to at least take some riding lessons first, the seat height is not super low either I could flat foot but I'm 5'11" with a 32.5" inseam, if your much shorter you won't be able to

@@BurtoniMotors I own one too. And yes, its a looker. It looks like a 600cc bike. I think its the perfect bike for someone who eventually wants to move to middle weight class. I will eventually move to Honda CBR 650r, for now I am enjoying my 310rr. Btw, the 2021 model has introduced adjustable front and rear suspension, slightly raised foot pegs, brass coated chain and also a little more ground clearance by bending the exhaust pipe differently. All of these new equipments are backwards compatible. These make the bike more track focused.
