I recently traded my rare 2016 3.0 V6 A4 Avant diesel Quattro for a T6 AWD V60 hybrid. I was sold within a mile on the extended test drive. It is an extremely capable car with a larger boot than the Avant. Ride and handling are very well judged and the electric and petrol motors integrate seamlessly with each other. The interior ambience is a match for the Audi although the infotainment is not quite up to the same standard, I would have preferred an SD card slot for all my music but have to use an adapter. Performance in electric only mode is pretty reasonable even out of town and there is plenty of power when required using petrol. I haven't tried combined power mode yet, saving that for laughs.

19 inch alloys. The suspension is standard. I traded in the first V60 recharge for a cancelled order for a new model with the larger battery which now gives over 40 miles of electric range.@@PomeranCZ

V60/S60/ XV60 have, IMO, the best looking dash of all the new Volvos. I like the slim, horizontal placement of the wood or other trim over the slab of trim in the 90 cars.Beautiful bodywork as well, and the seats - often called the best in the industry - also look great. The 4 choices of leather color each are good if you go for the higher trim levels, and they do offer both charcoal and "blonde" leatherette in the Momentum. I'd like to see them offer fabric or part fabric as well, at least in the base model, as in the XC40.

Suggesting that the D4 engine "suits the car best" is just silly. The T5 is hands down one of the best engines ever designed, gets extremely respectable fuel economy, and doesn't lack for power in the slightest and just so happens to be one of the most reliable engines in the past 20 years. And the maintenance costs are far below that of a diesel engine. You're clearly not a mechanic or engineer and it shows. As for the "reliability statistics". And seeing as to how "customer satisfaction" is tied into a reliability rating, (which makes absolutely no sense whatsoever), this car would be a 5 out of 5 stars in terms of reliability if that were removed from the determining factors.

Having a V90 cc I don't think of the v60 as an estate. Imagine folks would enjoy the v60 as much as I enjoy the V90. Most of us use voice command to control everything. In 18 months I've used the touch screen less than a handful of times.

@@celsomonteiro6541 good point. The BMW will be better in terms of driving dynamics but for me, the volvo is quieter, more comfortable, safer and better equipped as standard. It's also better for towing which was one of the main reasons I chose this model over the 3 series BMW. Best all round package in my opinion but not for you if you looking for a pure drivers car.

Practical boot space - you have to pay £500 for a 12v socket ! Volvo was once the default choice for estate car but boot space is now pathetic. Yes it's much the same as 3series, A4 but all those are dwarfted by cars in the class below. New Ford Focus, Toyota Corolla, VW Golf, Peugeot 308 all much bigger and to the best of my knowledge, offer bag hooks, push button folding rear seats and 12v sockets. Forget about Skoda Superb, a Skoda Octavia is better - offers all of that (including flat load bay) 610L with seats up, 1740L with seats down. Nothing special about Volvo's engines either - quite thirsty infact. Not sure there's any car as comfortable to sit in as a Volvo, but these days their cars err or style over practicality. P.S. The Octavia estate is actully bigger than Volvo's V90 let alone the V60.

Load lips stop things falling out of the boot when you stop after a blast down the motorway. This obsession with load lips is just stupid.

  • @NickLiang

C S not really, if your stacking things in a moronic way and it falls out when you open the boot, that’s on you. When lifting heavy items, especially if you’re shorter, a few inches makes a big difference. Especially furniture, suit cases and big boxes. And the. You can’t slide it otherwise it drops into the he boot floor and the time is at a angle. Level boot floor means you can lift it up and slide is back.
