I was converted to V-Twin packaging and performance characteristics back when race replicas were 750cc fours and 1000cc twins. In the late 90s everyone but Kawasaki was getting in on the act. The VTR1000s, TL1000s, TRX850s and of course the Ducati 916/996/998. Nothing like riding that wave of torque out of the corners as the deep bellow of the v-twin echos off the hillside. It's odd that these days there's so few v-twin options in terms of open class performance bikes, but it's put the Super Duke as my next purchase (assuming the world returns to normal in the not too distant future).

Another excellent and honest assessment of the latest machinery Chopsy, I'm salivating at the thought of the Touno Factory, V4s and Super duke comparison especially with the new electronic sussies on the Aprilia and what your thoughts are on that! Keep'em coming 👍

Another outstanding review Chops! The SDR surprises me with the refinements KTM has made. Comparison to the Tuono and Ducati Streetfighter will be intriguing. There is a market for the ZH2 but a different rider than the Euros.

Love the comparison, reminded me so much of the early 1970's! Back then all you read from road testers comparing a fastback Norton 750 against the new Kwaker Z1 made similar comments regarding the best fast twin vs the straight 4 dragster in a bendy frame with pogo suspension. Seems it still comes down to you get what you are prepared to pay for. £5000+ for the KTM, that's quite a lot for tuning the sussys on the Kwak.

Great review chops but you didn't adjust the Zh2 suspension like you did with the KTM. You can stiffen the Kwak up a fair bit to sharpen it's handling but clearly it isn't as good as the KTM's set up. Wonder what it would be like with a K Tech set up. And junk that overweight exhaust system and replace with a much lighter titanium full system. Cheers mate and stay safe.
