This truck is a blast . We don’t need any Apple car play in it . It’s a truck , not a millennial toy . Plus no point in Apple car play when navigation is already in the car . We went for 2019 , because the 20 has that new stupid steering wheel from the RX models , where you can’t hold it in the middle on the bottom . The new grill not a fan either . Truck frame has saved our life in tornado in Florida. Semi fell on us at 60 mph and my wife and I stayed alive !!!!!! So we went and bought another 2019 GX. Worth the money ! Mpg isn’t good , but it’s ok. It’s a safe reliable Truck. Third one for us. I would say the best truck under 60k.

That´s a beautiful SUV..... both inside & out. Some say that different Toyota/Lexus models are outdated compared to the competition.... & that´s true...However, the mindset that Toyota/Lexus seems to stick with...ie. something like..."If it works...Why change it?"...is their strength. Reliability is the main reason people are drawn to buying a Toyota....Reliability, design & (in som models...bigger stronger engines) is what draws buyers to Lexus.... What good is the latest technology if it will give you nothing but headaches & trips to the dealer/shop...

I’m glad Lexus offers something that other manufacturers don’t. No tech!

If the car companies were smart they would hire you for their R&D department... You really do use and abuse these vehicles they way the developers should before they put things into production!!! Excellent job amazing reviews

As an Aussie, I love your dress up lol Unfortunately we don't get the GX460 here. We get the Landcruiser Prado which is what the GX460 is based off. Top spec (Kakadu) is ~$100k AUD on the road. We also have the normal Landcruiser and the Sahara is the top spec. That's ~$130k AUD on the road. Lexus has the LX570, but you're looking between ~$140k-$165k AUD on the road depending what you get. We like our body on frame 4WDs as turbo diesel, not petrol.

Also used in mine sites. Toyota Hilux and Ford Ranger are usually the top selling cars here in Australia. That's across all categories, not just the 'dual cab ute' (pickup truck) segment.

I like the GX, but when I saw a Camry T bone a GX from the side and easily flipped it, made me think twice about it.

The infotainment was indeed the only thing that was keeping me from buying this. BUT they are updating the infotainment for 2022! If the infotainment didn't bother me I would save $$$ by getting a Pre-owned 2015+...after the facelift.

Is this the Lexus version of the Land Cruiser 150 (Prado) they sell in Europe?

Land Cruiser Prado 150 Super Luxury.

Crawl control is not that good. I can do that better myself with the gas pedal. Especially in a stream or rocky terrain. Rear camera is kind of dated.. but the seats are very comfy. Its a very comfy mom or wife mobile

570 Lexus the third row seats is so unpractical because u can't fold them in to the floor plus they take so much space. I was thinking to buy 460 but it's only 6 speed and is so updated instead 460 I bought 2020 GLS

the LX570 3rd row has a higher floor than the GX, so GX’s 3rd row is more comfortable.

The only thing that I don't like about this vehicle is the tailgate and glass should of been fully automatic , well at least the glass for that price tag......

I think at 5’1” it may be a tad uncomfortable. But you can most certainly test at a dealership!

Andie the Lab Thanks for taking the time to respond appreciate your comment. I have the GX-460 premium, MDX, Volvo XC 90 and Lincoln Nautilus all on my list to drive before buying. Adjustable petals for sure help with shorter folk, but if the wheel adjust enough and seat enough it normally isn’t a issue.

Captain chairs are overrated. The narrow center of the bench seat folds down giving as good a line of sight for *(who's a good boy)* , if left up a more usable armrest and cup holder can be folded out of the center seat backrest. With Captains chairs if the fragile cup holders are used you lose the a pass through isle to the back. 3rd Row is only good for occasional use by kids, the kids can climb around the side of the bench to access the 3rd row. Also bench = 7 passengers, Captains Chairs = 6 Passengers. It's a marketing gimmick.

Not often you review a car that came out when I was in college. It needs some updates.

Jake Kennedy Most buyers appreciate the simplicity and reliability, particularly this specific model, the GX460. They wouldn’t change a thing on it. Your “it needs some updates” sentiment is very common amongst those who would never purchase this vehicle anyway.

Hope you can afford better jeans for your next video. Red seats in a SUV is ridiculous. Otherwise this is a good old school SUV that will last 100 years. Not fit for a woman, you should stick to testing CUVs.
