Exactly. The terrain is near impassible. But even if one side fights through to the other side, HOW THE F*** do you supply them over those roads?! Watching these timelapses has given me second thoughts on even buying this game. (Too busy with work and life, but back when that wasn't the case I'd pick things up like this to learn a little about history and the world in between reading).

They didn't consider avalanche and general winter. Military ops can't continue during the months of oct to feb it funking -40c temprature out there. Simulation forgot its not plains it's high altitude army who knows capturing and defending peaks wins.

India : places 70% of its units on the border with Pakistan in spite of being at war with China because Pakistan has a wargoal over them China : they actually have a player with a broken right click so their units just scramble around the country, also resulted in them right clicking their units in the landing in southeast india away.

I once was playing as Kaiser Germany (Central powers at war with UK, France and Russia) And the Austro-Hungarian AI decided to send ALL of their divisions in Africa.. while USSR was blowing through my thinly held divisions.. as I focused on eastern front.. the AH AI had no divisions in their own territory

Realistically what Zeros said: because of geography, China has it easier to invade India than India to invade China. Nukes could alter somewhat the balance; as would whether other countries enter the war: Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Taiwan and Japan all could favor one side, maybe even the Koreas and SEA countries. But overall India is encircled while China isn't.

True. The Tibetan region has very poor infrastructure and cannot support many troops. Besides this, India would have the defensive advantage while also having more experienced mountain troops. Losses would be heavy but China would eventually break through.

Anyone who has played this game knows that China's nearly unlimited manpower makes its opponents desperate, but in reality, in modern warfare, the impact of untrained civilians on the war is extremely limited. So let's cherish the peace, don't force China to arm their civilians, believe me, it will be terrible.

This mod has a pretty lackluster AI. I was playing as US and declared war on China and then they formed their own alliance and after that the war escalated out of control.

The Indian AI was beyond incompetent honestly. What were they thinking? They over extended their frontline way too early without any proper force to hold those gains and then after the fall of Delhi they had a good opportunity to cut off and encircle most of the Chinese invading army but they couldn't even do that. God that was a mess

in reality those chinese forces would be bottled in the narrow passes of the himalayas and naval forces travelling the strait of malacca would be easily ambushed. also important to note that there are few chinese bases in proximity towards indian border while indian bases are within close proximity in the chinese border giving them an edge in mobility in the early stages of the war since chinese would have to relocate their forces first. nonetheless this is still fun to watch and hopefully it will remain just a scenario.

I really dont like how easy it is to cross the himalayas in hoi4. It should definitely be intransversible for vehicles, and have some heavy negatives when crossing.

I've studied this for quite many years and I can see why popular perception might make it appear like China had India by the balls except that's not really a good analysis at all. China's military might is spread across all of its borders (Japan, Korea, Mongolia, Uyghurstan/Xinjiang, India, Tajikistan, Vietnam and the S. China Sea). By comparision, India's is concentrated largely against Pakistan and China (whilst arming the coastline), with the troops in Kashmir able to mobilise against either adversary. It would also be very difficult for China to organise their logistics across the mountains of Tibet. Basically, China shouldn't expect to make any territorial gains whatsoever via Tibet. They could via Pakistan, but it doesn't seem like those two countries are getting along v. well, except for in public photo ops. The last time the Chinese won ("62), it was moreso due to incredibly indecisive, poorly prepared and naive Indian political leadership. The Himalayan mountains or the PLA weren't even remotely analysed in terms of their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. The Indian Army didn't even raise an army in Tibet until it was too late with troops with zero preparation for high altitude warfare and insufficient munitions. The few soldiers that put up a fight ran out of ammo and surrendered. Highlighting the stupidity of Pandit Nehru. Simply put, I think this is an extremely naive and unrealistic prediction for what would occur in the case of a modern Indo-Chinese conflict. Look at how the Fins mocked the Russians. The Swiss mocked any invaders. And finally, and more relevantly, look at how the Americans, Vietnamese and Japanese have all dealt with the Chinese, the Chinese barely stood a chance in either battle (Vietnam being their most spectacular defeat). I would bet the territorial gains would lean in the opposite direction, with a lot of Southern Tibet going to India. But that would reinforce Sino-Pak ties as they perceive India as a competent power, not something that serves Indian national security or interests. It is in our interests for China not to take India seriously, which means that at least for the time being, letting things stay the same in regards to China having the majority of Tibet, even though in a real war, they can only expect to keep half of it in a best case scenario.

The korean war occurred not soon after the establishment of the Country. With poverty and famine still roaring across the country side. China didn't had a huge advantage they were both on par.

Mao was far more authoritarian and violent leader than Nehru. We need to understand that threat from Pakistan was omnipresent from one side of our border (even till this day). At that time, India was farmore incapable in terms of resources, infrastructure, expirience etc. You must remember Nehru actually asked for people gold to purchase arms !!!...

The USA just got done fighting China in Korea and if they had silent support from the USA why did china antagonize the USA during vietnam war by supporting the north? China's land and richest cities were reduced to rubble against the Japanese while the Indian motherland was relatively unscrathed. Mao asked people to donate supplies and do less so they can supply the soldiers in Korea, him being authoritarian doesn't mean he can make stuff out of thin air, he must rebuild, rebuilding takes time, money and manpower. Majority of the Chinese troop at that time was stationed in the north against the soviet union too.

Later on Henry Kissinger, Nixon views on India further proved that US looked down upon India as an ally of Soviet Union and thus it remained silent to attrocities committed by China.

That's why it is necessary to give full support to the USA, to buy weapons from the USA.

Certainly an interesting scenario. My Hindu friends in India seem to think they can handle not only China but Pakistan at the same time. I don’t know if they are delusional or not but they don’t lack for confidence. The way things are going we may soon find out?

It is not possible for Chinese troop to stay in northern India and deal with the 1 billion hostile people... On the opposite the tibatian support India.. The army with the support of the people wins

@@ichamatitales9459 generally that’s true but we’re China and India are facing off is very remote and away from most population centers with access being very hard. True, the area is closer to India giving them a slight advantage perhaps but how many people close by are supportive of India instead of China. I don’t know but aren’t the majority of people in that area Muslim and perhaps anti-India? China will not attempt an all out war until it has vastly improved in the road system and can move troops much faster and efficiently. Perhaps you do know things that I do not so feel free to help me understand?

It is always better to learn from people who live in the general area as opposed to just listening to the news which often gets it wrong or from the wrong perspective. I have friends in India and although I bear no grudge to China it is day who have always been the aggressor so I support India in this conflict but hope they can get along. Here in the United States we have our share of problems But learning from those in other countries can go a long way to help. Again thank you!
