I’m not familiar with the reputation of the various regions of France. Can you run me down a list of regions that correspond with areas of the states? For instance, calais= deep south, etc

@@sethbecker7162 I would say that Brittany would be Texas ( once independant , harsh climate, quite adventurous people ) , that the North Eastern part of France ( Champagne Ardennes , Lorraine and Alsace ) would be the Great Lakes States ( economy once based on coal mining and factories but is today slowly dying , history full of wars between different countries ) , that Paris would be New York ( rather likes neoliberalism and progressism, has suburbs known in all the country for their dangerosity , more people there than in most of the French regions ) that Rhône Alpes would be California ( Concentrate many high tech industries , a lots of young people compared to places around it like Auvergne or Burgundy , mountain range in the east and too much pollution . that Provence Alpes Côte d'azur is Florida ( swamps, hot climate , all rich people have secondary houses there , tourists everywhere ) . Then I don't think there's a place in the United States quite similar to Burgundy ( cut in half , north western part almost unpopulated and south eastern part containing big cities , has a reputation of backstabbers since the hundred years war , food and wine that often are used to represent French food and its strangest recipies) .

@@leoleboss9414 I'd rather have used Occitania (surroundings of Toulouse and Bordeaux basically) as an equivalent for California. Growing high tech, attracts the youth, surf, liberal and progressist, portuary cities, large state, got beaches, large forests and mountains, etc... I guess that Rhône-Alpes would be a better match for Washington and Oregon. We're missing Burgundy, the Pays de la Loire, Normandy and Auvergne/Centre tho. Normandy could match with New England, the Pays de la Loire too (that or some of the East coast states south of BoWash).

There are for sure to watch (as well as Nantes) as really fast growing city, but they are not a high tech region now, but rather high tech cities.

Plus the republic of genoa always treated corsica as a tax piñata, shaking it up for money every now and then but not giving a fuck 99% of the time. Corsican people constantly revolted, they would have slapped you in the face for calling them genoan, so calling them Italian is even more of a stretch. The "ä" sounds very similar (if not identical) to the "ai" in "fair", while I was going more for an "ö" (I can't think of an English equivalent, just let Google translate pronounce it for you). Yet even that vocal isn't quite like the Saxon "a" so I had to resort to the "å".
