We review and compare the new 2020 Chevy Corvette vs the 2019 Corvette C7 Grand Sport. A usual, we take our time and do a comprehensive technical review on the road and track. In a world full of crazy cars like the Dodge Hellcat, Ford Shelby GT500, and Camaro ZL1 the new C8 is a supercar on paper. We look at the good and bad to find out if all the hype is real or is this another Fiero?

    | just don't understand how GM can produce so many unmitigated pieces of shit and then also produce this. It feels like something made completely insulated from the rest of the company which is run by penny pinching accountants and executives trying to boost short term stock price with no long term vision. I really hope this is an indicator of the way of the future for GM.

It will be user error for sure. In certain cases owners drive it to cars and coffee over 60 MPH which can cause the lid to unlatch. This is considered extreme usage and is outside GMs warranty scope, for more information, check out the Chevy Cobalt user manual for terms and conditions.

This is something that Mark, and frankly a lot of car reviewers, seem to have a hard time understanding. I live in MI. A hard-edged driver's car is going to be great...for about five minutes. If I'm driving something every day, I want it to ride well, be refined, and not punish me for wanting to drive it. The C7 wasn't terrible at that, but the C8 seems to take it to another level.

I don't know if it is me getting too old or the younger generation (who these cars seem to target) is having no idea about cars and design. Maybe playing too much of those futuristic video games does something to people's perception about design. I certainly won't buy a car like that. My wife and I just bought a BMW 440i, because we could not stand the upcoming new G22 design. Look up Frank Stephenson's KZread Channel. I'm not to promoting his channel, he does not need promotion. Brandon Dogoncrack There is more than enough to money for all of us to get a UBI, health care and housing, complaining about tax money going to the “disabled”....I hope you don’t think that the disabled and those on unemployment even make a dent in the available funds, if so you have been mislead. Its not unemployment, the disabled or immigration. It’s America’s capitalism. You can’t possibly see trillions handed to the top 1 percent in a week and think that even those with minor disabilities who happen to qualify somehow are a waste of your money. Plus doctors must be involved in the claims etc, the number of people who get through who don’t have some sort of issue is extremely minuscule at best. There is never enough for social systems but always enough for war, not war for safety but war for corporate gain only. So they use those bullshit excuses as scapegoats as to why there isn’t enough. To many people getting 600 a week. While some of those cunts getting 20 mil a year and have 10 yachts. 80 percent of Stock market owned by top 10 percent. Their policies are why 50 mil + are unemployed. Denmark, Germany etc their leaders are either to scared of the populace or actual care. Nationalized corp, froze the economy, paid business expenses and 75 percent salary, kept people fed, in homes and safe. But here ? They rather prop up zombie companies that are run on shuffling around debt while they gorge on the profit. Oil companies, airlines, billions in profit year after year, begging on knees for money in two weeks. Culture among the citizens, what some do, isn’t perfect but make sure you see the big paradigms affecting our own. I’ve assumed a lot here, that I realize, so if I’m wrong, I’m wrong. But talk like that sometimes indicate a disdain for those subsets. Focus on those subsets is exactly what those bastards want while they steal our time, our labor, our money and manipulate us. As the owner of a C7 GS 7sp manual I must say you just confirmed exactly what I have suspected for a while. I live in KY and attended the "release party" at the Corvette Museum. The engineers were there answering questions. I pressed several of them with specific questions regarding the C8's handling and the more specific I got the more I was convinced it was not a better driver's car. Not one of them would come out and say anything bad about the new car but I left the event with the feeling that the C7 was the superior handling car based on the things they would not say. I also felt this same way when track times were released and they were only marginally better than the C7. It never made sense that the C8 is so much quicker in a straight line, with a quicker shifting transmission, new tire technology etc. was only getting marginally better lap times. To me it was further proof that cornering speeds in the C7 had to be higher. All this being said I am glad the new car exists and I have high hopes for the future versions but your video makes me extremely happy I did not trade my manual trans C7. BTW the video quality and cinematography was horrid. Don't quit your day jobs. ;-)

The C7 was a beast in the handling/cornering department so there really wasn’t much to improve on, you also have to keep in mind this review was without the other performance packages/models, wait until the Z06/ZR1/hybrid models come out, GM couldn’t of made the base C8 a perfect car, thats what the performance models are for. I have heard otherwise though about the C8, I’ve heard its one of the best handling/cornering cars of all time... way better than the C7 so take that with a grain of salt. I think people are just being nit picky, the base C8 looks and drives better than 98% of sports cars/exotics out there all while being more reliable for a cheaper price.

@Thundrune I feel that the C8 used in this video was NOT a good example to use against a highly developed C7 Grand Sport, as the C8 used did NOT have the factory Z51 package on it; as he discussed, this package contains numerous components that affect handling and braking. Instead, Savagegeese used a C8 with a FEW owner modified components, and there is no way of knowing if this is what a GM enginer would have done. The Z51 package is much more complete and, given a C8 Z51 and a stock C7 GS, I feel that the results would be in the C8 Z51's favor..This video was not a fair test and handcuffed the C8. It was like taking an older Mike Tyson and putting him against an Golden Gloves champion without any training on how to handle boxers like MT.

The quality and production value these two bring is way way underappreciated. They probably need this for the halo effect since all of their other product are utterly pieces of shit. Toyota doesn't need a sports car to be successful. They don't need to make the new supra, it wouldn't even happen if they weren't working with BMW. None of this is the manufactures fault, is their job to be profitable. People can rant all they want but the customer's behavior is the most honest and the fact is nobody is buying sports cars. Just be happy that some manufacturers are still making them.
