I own a Giulia Velcoe 280HP (46.000km, of course 0 problems) and in my family we had a lot of Alfas in the past. I cant understand why people, especially in germany think these cars are bad like in the 70s (and even back then they were not as bad as people say). Germany is pumping Giulia and Stelvio with full of awards (this year again it won 4 awards, got first in 4 categories as the best sports car) and the german magazine readers vote for it but too many dont buy them, why? Like @23Piccolina said, nowadays Alfas are not better or worse than the competition but germans are too rooted with german brands and those who aren't dont inform themselves about these cars. Alfas problem today are not the cars. The missing dealers and missing advertising are the problems. I dont understand why Alfa invested in F1 instead of dealers.

Alfaromeo is perfect. From Germany only Mercedes is good. VW group is shit they brake all time, full of problems. Alfaromeo much better ,you get the Happiness of driving 🍀

Interior on my 2017 is perfectly fine - obviously I didn’t buy it for the interior 🥴 the engine is sublime (thanks Ferrari) and those paddles are gorgeous. I went for the Carbon backed Sparco seats which are very comfortable and hold you firmly. I put winter tyres on and stick the family in for ski trips! If you want a 4 door Ferrari without the stigma or high costs then get one. They are £40k now so a bit of a bargain. Oh and ‘M4 owners get jealous as they’ve bought the wrong car😬🤣 Nice review thanks.

Given that horrific M3 new grill, the Giulia is a masterpiece compared to that BMW. This Alfa Romeo is stunning. I own a 2019 Veloce model. Fantastic car with zero problems.

@@TimRodieDrivesStuff Yes, the problem with perception is that it becomes reality. Alfa has had a poor reputation, but over the past 20 yrs or so, its undeserved. They make great cars these days, sure there are minor issues here and there, like any car company has, but overall, they are terrific, reliable automobiles. If people really knew this, they'd sell a ton of them!

@Bernhardt Limbach Well, you can be sure they are wrong. In fact, I've owned 7 Mercedes, 4 Audis, over 12 VW's and 6 BMW's. Most of these cars I've owned have not given me any issues, other than my 1997 528i BMW which was a lemon. But I've also owned 5 Alfa Romeos over time. None of which ever had one issue. So, Alfa is no better or worse than the German competition.

Que decir de Alfa Romeo que no sepamos los que nos gusta el motor y estamos puestos en el mundillo, aunque por lo visto hay mucho profano que le gusta hablar de oidas y poner a parir a la marca sin tener ni idea, sin haber tenido uno o ni siquiera a ver probado alguno. Las malas lenguas.... Yo he tenido un 33, un 75, un 156, un Giulietta QV y ahora tengo este Giulia en la versión QV y sin duda el que ha cumplido todas mis expectativas. El coche es sencillamente increible, nunca habia probado un coche con una dirección tan directa y lo que vale para la direción, vale para todo el comportamiento en general, agarre y aplomo, pero es que ademas es una autentica bestia. Un pedazo de Alfa Romeo. Con este me sobra el trio Aleman, asi de sencillo. En diseño les pasa el trapo. Ademas a mi personalmente me sobran las pantallitas y tanta tablet, este es analogico y deportivo, como le caracteriza a todo un Alfa. Saludos desde Barcelona.

Good input, brilliant video, surprise Alfa Romeo improve in all dept from engine room till cabin area. Alfa Romeo right now is the hottest property of Italian marquee 😍👍🏾

Love the review is was going for a bmw m3 then I test drove an alfa last year and wanted 1. I have been looking last few weeks and now I've decided I want the face lift as the interior is such a vast improvement so I will haver to save some more but it will be worth it

My start button is not flimsy. However, I can definitely tell/see the 2020 interior is quite a bit nicer than my 2017 overall. Nice video, sir!

Do yourself a favor and go online to various sources, Madness Autoworks is one, Ebay can also be good and find carbon fiber trim for your interior. You'll be very surprised how many upgrades you can add for very low cost that will enhance your interior. My 2019 base model looks like a QV inside and out. I've spent around $1500 total, but you'd swear I own a QV now.

@@thomasferrarojr.9772 Sure, its great looking. You can dress up your steering wheel with carbon bits and a red start button. Mine looks terrific. I think that new shift knob will be big bucks however. I've seen really nice QV steering wheels on Ebay but they are expensive as well. Hope you can enhance your car soon, you'll love it even more. I have adored the Giulia since i first saw the concept. I am determined to have one. My practical side still screams though at my heart about wanting an Italian car, especially as it would be on daily duty.

Great review really enjoyed it. The gear lever in the pre 2020 model does not creak or rattle! When a car is this good, who gives a toss about the gear lever.

Great review, pick my new QV up next week after over 10 years of various BMW M car ownership. Just couldn’t live with the looks of the new M3. QV is better all round package than my current F80 competition, although I can’t comment on how it rates against the new G80.

I'm so definitely going for this Italian beauty than the butt ugly M3...

Why do you prefer the ceramic brakes? They look amazing by themselves but I can’t help to notice it makes the wheels look too small. And for road driving, I think the steelies have a touch more feel while being perfectly up to the job.

Happy owner here. Interior is indeed a step up from my gen. Gear stick I've solved by taking it to an upholsterer and change the plastic 'fake leather' bit with nice black nappa leather. Feels just like it should now. (I agree it should have come like this as standard.)

@@azamchaudhri no I'm not from the UK but from Belgium. i guess there will be a good upholsterer around where you live. it wasn't easy to do because the leather needed to very thin. My upholsterer clicked the clip in himself. Shaving more and more off the leather until it clicked.

Not sure I got the issue with TCS as in its off in race mode. I drove my M4C with it off for 2 1/2 years. Why? It was too intrusive at junctions and MDM lulled you into a false sense of security which left you unable to correct a slide. I like the fact they have it off in race. Makes so much sense

Couple things you can fix easily - aftermarket control of exhaust valve is a couple hundred bucks. And the stock Pirellis are too much for street. Cold they are trash. Throw some Michelin's on and you're good to go. Source: I own one.

Beautiful car, almost makes me want another Alfa... no, no, no, dont do it. My run of four Alfas ended with a busted 156 Selespeed box (yes, that long ago) that two Auth' Dealers & two Ind' Specialists couldnt fix.

Really enjoying the TRDS on a drizzly Wednesday 👍🏻 Bored, so apologise in advance for throwing down all this knowledge 👀😂 F-Paddles done correctly for road use should always be large and fixed like this so rotational steering works. Fixed (9-3) steering requires column mounted paddles for track use mostly. How about a mode where one can lock them to be fixed, or rotating? 😱 That would be cool (Butthead) Manual PDK is often annoying, because you can’t find a bloody paddle, so have to use the lever, by which time you are looking pretty clumsy exiting that mini-roundabout. (Without indicating if in a Ferrari / Lamborghini with their stupid wheel mounted indicators) 🙄 Nice to see a car ditching the unfo-tainment system, in favour of an actual working system from this millennia 🤓 Everyone should just rip-off iDrive, as it works like human bodies work! I’ve had it up to here (holds hand above head) with bloody pre-configured driving modes that lock out certain functionality. The only time most owners will use loud exhaust / race, will be around town a bit, where they can hear the sweet double-open flaps without fear of death. Pointless and annoying! It might be fast, but it’s still an automatic heavy saloon, so RACE MODE is purely a marketing derivation anyway! I think I’m a BLOODY BRILLIANT driver obvs 🤓......but I spend 0% of my time driving fast on roads with the aides all switched off, because I suspect I know what will happen 🙈 Encouraging people to do so, just so they can hear their expensive exhaust properly is madness in a car with 600 torques at 2500rpm! Please let us have the fun we have paid for, as speeds we can enjoy without fear of death / prison etc. I can’t believe Inholms Lane is STILL all dug up 🤔 Any Walliswood 4x4 based content soon Tim?

For years people have been pleading with alfa to allow independent control of the exhaust valves - why havn't alfa done this yet!! I wonder if someone out there has come up with a hack for that 🤔

You know for this car to be an Alpha Romeo I was never impressed with the looks. A.R. is known for making beautiful cars so what happened here? When I see this car on the road I have to really look hard to recognize it's an Guilia. If it was not for the front grill it would look like anything else on the road. Now take Kia a budget brand their 2021 Elantra looks much better than this car for 20K to 25K. I rather buy an Elantra N or even a Sonata N.

Giulia is still winning design awards, in germany it won again as the best (i think sports sedan?) 2020. So in overall general the Giulia is a good and beautiful car but thank god that tastes are not equal for everyone. People like Alfa, people dont like Alfa. People like BMW, people dont like BMW or Audi or Mercedes.......... thank god not everyone has the same taste.
