Always with the king sized bed. What about a twin bed so that you can walk around and make the bed up and have a sand next to the bed?

Wow a 16 foot Bambi starts around $50,000. Notice the white eater heater door, plastic outdoor shower door and plastic outdoor electric outlets. Back in the 70'S Airstream had polished alimonim water heater doors and all the exterior oitlets, water inlets etc. where polished aluminum.

Very interesting.

What's the actual headroom by the stove, in the shower, etc.? I'm 6'5" (another "tall guy"), so that's an important factor to me.

Great ... one suggestion is can Airstream house a basic personal gym ? Like one exercise bike and a dumbell rack ?

Pondering that myself! I was thinking a Concept 2 rower and a Bullworker would fit without adding too much weight.

I love the Basecsmp better than either of these. However upon my searching to buy one used, I seemed to run into numerous quality problems. Wonder if the Bambi is better as it’s an older model which, presumably, should have any bugs worked out.....

Tom, I had my hand in some of the design of the basecamp. I moved to run Airstream at this dealership. The first 25 or so basecamp production units Airstream learned and lot from. This is common industry wide. The Basecamp from the mid 2018 model to today is the same quality as the rest of the lineup. Thanks for watching, we are here for you if you need further Info.

Thank you for the comparisons and mentioning vehicle tow. This is very helpful. My concern is now Thor one of the worst RV manufacture owns and builds. I grew up traveling in Airstream and owned one as an adult. i recommend anyone buying should join FB airstream to hear good and bad experiences.

Airstream is the first THOR company. Back in 79 Airstream was about to close. 2 guys founded THOR when they bought the company that owned Airstream as was about to lose it down.

Is there any difference in in vibrations when somebody walks in the cabin between the dual axle and single axle?

When not stopped at a camp site while you're traveling and need to get in to grab something most likely yes. But when you're stopped you deploy the stabilizers, in which case I doubt there would be any difference, since the stabilizers are meant to prevent any swaying.

How do these do in one of those famous Florida hurricanes..??

I love Airstreams.. the quality is unquestioned. But I just can't pay that much for something without a slide. We have a 2007 Keystone Outback with a side slide and rear slide. Has almost twice the room of a Caravel at 1/5 the cost. If you're young, sure go for the Airstream! But I'm 55 and don't care that the camper will outlast me :-)

Curtis, thank you for looking in. Airstream made slide units for about 6 years and it just wasn't for us and Airstream is not for everyone. The important thing is you enjoy the journey in whatever is your favorite.

We sell them starting in the 30s. The great thing with Airstream is if you take care of it and have it for 10 years, in most cases you will get all your money back when you sell it.

How much?

Need someone standing in and or sitting in the baths so we can get perspective for elbow room.

I wish there was more customization. I love the 19 cb Bambi layout, and weight. but hate how they made the interior all white, it's so ugly

I want one of these bad but it would wipe out my savings

Thank you! My house in CA cost me $28K, so, that's the price of 2 houses, + $9K. My Father gave me an 18' 1959 Kinskill trailer (in very good condition) I keep it for him to sleep in, when he visits.( The price of my home is not typical, I found a cheap deal, and had to fix it up in 92)

You have the entry door and an emergency exit window.

12 grand for a better toilet shower door and cook top wow.

Love airstreams. Just a big red flag. Off grid markets don't want microwaves. Environmentally aware people know microwaves are dangerous. Convection is best. OFF GRID, NO MICROWAVE.
