2019 Suzuki V-Strom 250 LAMS Review

Фильм және анимация

We take a look at Suzuki's latest addition to the V-Strom range in Australia, the V-Strom 250, a LAMS complaint beginner option that offers a pretty unsurpassed first timers experience, for those who want an adventure/touring styled machine, just without all the extra weight and worry.
Weighing little more than the GSX250R, the V-Strom 250 doesn't compete with the V-Strom 650XT, but it does offer an option for those who wouldn't want to jump straight onto the larger 650, but still want to join in on the adventures.
Here's a look at the Suzuki V-Strom 250. A full written review will be available at BikeReview.com.au shortly.

Upgrade the suspension and some good protection on it ant it will take you almost any where. Its light, low, good handle and easy to fix....

Bought one last week. Great bike for the price! And even if my heart was balanced between DL 250 and Versys 300, I say to all of you : try them, and even if the Versys is a bit more powerful but on high rpm and DL better on low rev, they are quite similar. One thing, yes just one thing decided myself : do you prefer confort (DL 250) or wooden made seat (Versys, wood is quite nice to say, better iron made))...? I can't believe that such a motorcycle could have been launched with such a "seat", one of the most inconfortable of the planet if not the most of all, I prefer 1cm high of foam on sportbikes than this "seat"! No one has tried the bike before launch on markets? Just incredible... Sorry Kawa you just missed a sale...

How does it compare to the Kawasaki Versys 300?

It's a bit more expensive than the Kawasaki and it is more of a road/tarmac bike than the more off road capable Versys X 300... also the power is slightly less and the engine is on redline at highway speeds, so touring is probably not an option on the Suzuki. Here is a lin k to the full review bikereview.com.au/review-2017-kawasaki-versys-x-300-lams/ of the Kawasaki and the Suzuki here - bikereview.com.au/review-2019-suzuki-v-strom-250-lams/

Martin de Vries Hi. In Denmark the 250 vstrom is 6000,-€ and the versus 300 is 10500,-€ The Honda cb500X is also 10500,-€ (the vstrom 650 is 12000,-€)

Some others have said it is not suitable for long distance and has very short service intervals.

Hey Allen, being a small and relatively power limited machine, you could do stretches of the freeway for a daily commute for instance, but it's not a touring bike you'd do hundreds of kilometres a day on at 110km/h+. It should be fine running along at 90km/h for longer days in the saddle though on back roads, but this is an entry level adventure/commuter. It really comes down to expectations matching the bike. Servicing intervals seem normal, but we'll check with Suzuki Motorcycles Australia and get back to you - there have been some instances of very different service intervals listed between different markets on the V-Stroms. There was an observation elsewhere that a short interval with a long warranty is aiming to force owners to frequently visit their dealers in other markets, but for most people looking at this machine I doubt huge mileage is really on the books (but obviously not impossible), while it's a one-year warranty here in Australia, so I imagine most people would be following a pretty standard service interval.

@@allenparsens5279 the inazuma and gsx250 it is based off have 5000km intervals. That said, it's a basic engine with screw and locknut valves, open access to spark plugs and oil filter and so on. So it's easier for the home mechanic to work on than most other lams bikes.

strange comment - the engine on a BMW gs 650 is made in the same country.. It is made in china - not a chinese bike.. Quality is just as good as any other bike.
