2019 Mustang GT Premium 30k Ownership Review | How Much MONEY I Have Spent $$$

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

My 2019 Mustang GT recently crossed 30k mile mark. I have owned it since brand new! I give my thoughts on owning my 2019 Mustang GT from maintenance and reliability aspect. This 30k mile review should help potential buyers looking to buy their S550 Mustang GT
While 30k mile on my 2019 Mustang GT isn't necessarily considered to be long term review, it's interesting to see how much the car is costing and most importantly how the Mustang has held up in terms of reliability and build quality

    I have a 2014 Mustang GT that I've had since March 2016. I bought it with 8k miles and it has 39k now. I had to have the water pump replaced. Most of my mods are for the suspension (lowering springs, Koni orange struts & shocks, Maximum motorsports caster camber plates, whiteline adjustable panhard bar, whiteline lower rear control arms, steeda upper rear control arm, and whiteline sway bars). I got a K&N CAI, JLT oil catch can, and redline hood struts. I also changed the axleback exhaust to the GT500 style. I changed the gears from 3:73 to 3:55. I currently have the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires and like them. I took the Mustang for a couple track/roadcourse days and it was fun. I thought about a 2021-2022 S550 but I like my car so probably will keep it a while longer.

    I love how the s197s look. They’ve got the old school muscle car look with some modern touches. Honestly I would keep that s197. Yes s550 with 10 speed may be faster but those 2014 look really nice. With yours mods actually I won’t be surprised you can take on s550 without much of a problem

    Great video man. I own a 2019 Mustang GT PP1 6-Speed and has about 7,400 miles now. It is doing great so far and no issues (knock on wood), only thing that I did was I got a recall fixed "reverse camera not tunring on when shift to reverse". I agree with the paint chips thought, it sucks. I need to get my whole hood paint corrected and luckily the bumper is saved, since I wrapped it with 3M PPF.

    Thanks man I appreciate it! You’ve got a great low mile example mine almost seems like it’s got too many miles compared to yours lol. I just wish paint was better on our cars or if I knew before I would’ve invested in some PPF

    @@Red5oh Yeah I agree about the thin/soft paint. It's been that way for a long time according to some of the forums I read. I live in NJ so my car always sits in storage for at least 5 months every year. It has never seen salty roads and snow :)

    2018 GT Premium, Carbon package, w/Performance Package 1 & 6 speed. Have had a) right front strut assembly replaced due to a faulty sensor, Ford overnighted the replacement to dealer - no charge; b) exhaust mode selector reprogrammed by dealer, apparently there is a technical service bulletin- no charge ; c) right front suspension damper solenoid wire assembly replaced by dealer at 44,000 miles $630 - NOT COVERED BY FORD PREMIUM CARE EXTENDED WARRANTY; d) new battery from dealer $220 at 47,000 miles - 4 1/2 years. I replace engine air filter and cabin air filter myself every 15,000 miles using Motorcraft parts. Oil change, 10 quarts, at 1,000 miles and thereafter at 5,000 mile marker at Ford Dealer with full synthetic $125 +/-. Overall, I love the car, no squeaks or rattles. Alcantara heated and cooled seats are great. Handling is excellent. I’m torn, do I keep this car indefinitely or get an S650, which maybe the last truly great American Pony Car. Happy motoring.

    What issue did you have with the active exhaust? Mine sometimes opens the vale at start up for a split second before going into quiet mode. But not sure if that’s Corsa or original actuators. Looks like you’ve maintained the car through your dealer which definitely get a pricy but peace of mind for having the work done properly. Given the s650 hasn’t changed much I’d keep the s550 unless you get a dark horse which has the Tremec so you don’t have to worry about MT82 issues down the line with your current car

  • @analogguy5548

    Note: Active exhaust is 100% stock. Early in ownership the system stop working - would not change out of “normal”. Dealer “REPROGRAM PCM CLEAR ALL CODES PER TSB” - re TSB 18-2307. Active exhaust has worked flawlessly since dealer performed service. There was no charge. One thing I didn’t mention - I installed a JLT catch can soon after I got the car. It’s a quality product. I empty the catch can at every oil change. I don’t get a lot of oil in the catch can - I estimate over the life of the car 4 - 6 ounces total. Really wish Ford would have gone with the Tremec Trans in the S650. However, I haven’t had any issues with my manual 6 speed. I suspect that many of the people who have trans issues either have modified their engines for a lot more horse power and/or driven and shifted aggressively. Good luck with you car & Happy Motoring.

    2022 GT Fastback 10r80 Currently at 22k [bought in April it's December] it's a Daily Driver/commuting car (don't judge me lol). I will say this I follow my own maintenance schedule and I abuse the hell out of my dealership free services for 100k miles (ford gas and go that extra $10 a month is really worth it if you DRIVE these things) here's my schedule. 1. Oil changes every 3k miles and before any big road trip of over 300 miles 2. Changed my filters [air and cabin] at 15k 3. I run 93 plus in it mostly from QT [quiktrip or shell v power] ran it once on 87 and it felt like an old washing machine and got the same mileage [25mpg vs 32mpg (I'm a granny mon-fri)]. The interior is falling apart the mustang badging on the passenger air bag fell off in the GA sun and the driver's side seat control panel unlatched from its mount and the plastic tabs broke. The 10r80 still shifts fast but noticeably more Jerky in the colder weather, the cruise control still works well although it's a very sensitive system even on the minimum level. The Sync 3 system still functions well but the android car play is hit or miss (idk if it's my phone [S22 ultra] or the USB port in the car in combination with my wire). Other than those minor cosmetic issues the car has been bullet proof for a "sports coupe" from ford.

    @Initialddriver I just bought a 22' gt premium with the 10 speed glad it's holding up good I barely have 400 miles on mine now can't wait to hit 1000 do an oil change then I can really use the power lol. If the climate is gonna be cold (toward winter) then definitely use the CAI, if it’s summer, take it off (and the tune) and use the stock air box. Heat soak is real.

  • @Red5oh

    @Red5oh

    Yeah seems like heat soak is an issue with most cais and based on some dyno tests I’ve seems CAI itself results in only few hp so might just do drop in filter and tune

    Yup that’s what I used to do for my 2006 mustang gt. Since this car takes 10qt the difference comes to be $30 or so. In order to not have any warranty issues I prefer the dealer. Now once the warranty is out I’ll probably go to my local mechanic and provide them with oil and filter
