I have a costume trailboss and it has the same wheel and tire package as a LT. all trailboss’s doesn’t matter what trim level you get has the Z71 off road package has a factor add 2” left and the same wheels and tires. And they’re a nice set of wheels but every trailboss has the same wheels

Disable the active fuel management if the engine comes with it. AFM/DFM can have valve train and oil burning issues. The diesel has a belt driven oil pump that requires replacement at 150k miles and that maintenance requires dropping the transmission. It's probably a fairly expensive maintenance.

The old 5.3L is solid. I had a 2001 Tahoe with a 5.3 that went over 200k miles and sold it to my buddy’s kid who is still driving it today. I now have a 2019 LT Trail Boss with the 5.3L almost 22k on it so time will tell how this one does with the cylinder deactivation.

@@roboticbrenden7764 traded it on a 2020 6.2L with a 10 speed. The 8speed felt like I was kicked by a mule at low speeds. That truck has over 80k on it in 3.5 years and has been flawless. Visited 8 states, towed, hauled. LOF every 5k. Plugs and wires changed at 75k. Changed front rear diff and TC at 50k along with transmission and coolant. Driven hard, but maintained.

Some of the issues he is calling are a little bit exaggerated. There were some recalls which have been addressed by GM. All new cars have recalls in their first year release. RAM was losing brake pedals, Ford f150 was getting fire because of wiring, and couple of days ago Toyota recalled Camry and Lexus for replacing engines. No accident or injury has been reported and recalls were on time. Of course, it is inconvenience to be at the dealership, but that's what it is when you buy the first year model. I bought 19 one. I purchased directly to the factory in October 2018 and got her in January 2019. Besides the recalls, I've never had any issues. No window leaks, no oil line issue, no steering issues, no brakes issues, ....

The 6 speed is fine. Once you install the AFM disabler the 6 speed is very pleasing to have. I’ve heard so many horror stories over the 8 speed and I think ford is being sued for the 10 speed so I’m sure the same thing will happen with GM. More gears more money to spend to fix it.

I have a silverado / 4.3L with 244K. Still running strong.

You scan the forums both the GMC and Chevy have electrical problems, brake problems and rear window leaks. Frames are still using that wax like substance.

I am interested in hearing from folks who have experience with the 4.3L V6. I'm considering a work truck to haul about 700lbs of shell and tools full time and up to 1200 lbs payload on occasional road trips. I don't need a hot rod but I don't want a turd.

Would this mostly apply to gmc also? I’m seriously considering buying a 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 slt.

I have 2020 Silverado 1500 RST Z71, The biggest problem I've been having is rear window leaking and Brake system. The Brake system has been fixed but the rear window leaking has happened several times now. Other than them issues I love everything else about the truck.

No I did not being it was still under warranty. I loved the truck but just not the continuous issues I was having. I ended up getting rid of the truck after a year with the problems and went back to a 2021 RAM truck and it's been 2.5 yrs now and not one problem with it. @@domwis1861

What brake problems were you having?!

Common electrical and brake issues? And i read a couple issues on driving in the rain and sucking up water through the intake. I think im gonna drop my deal on the lt trail boss 6.2, stick with the tried and true tundra

I prefered to pay more for options instead of 6.2L and 10 speed. You HAVE TO fill the truck with highest octane gas in 6.2L. Its not worth it if you don't really need that much power. Also, here in California when you pass 6900 lbs you have to pay more for registration. 6.2L will pass that threshold. With 5.3L I'm paying over $800 for registration 😰

Hows your 8 speed holding up? I have a buddy who had a 2018 with the 8 speed and in 30 000 kilometers he put 3 transmissions in under warranty.

@@t.jmatch2545 mine is so far so good. Since 2019 I might have no more than 5 kicks which one of them was a little bit strong. I have 16K miles on it. I heard that there is a class action lawsuit running around. But to be honest with you, I've never had any issue with the transmission. I'm driving Silverado since 2005 (2005, 2011, 2014, 2019 models). I've never had any issue neither with the transmission nor the engine.

I just scooped up a 2020 LT Trail boss in Utah with a killer lease payment under $500/mo. Such a sick truck.

The 8pd transmission is garbage.There is being a lot of claims and GMC it’s going through problems that’s why in 2020 they eliminated the 8spd. 6.2 Engine with 10spd is the way to go. I’ve done so much research. My 2018 8spd trani broke down at 15k miles.

Ben, you might want to get the mole on your neck checked. Kinda weird I know but I do this for a living.

I would subscribe and like if i didn't have to watch a half dozen ads in a 13 minute video...

You forgot the rear window leak, the loose alternator cables, the engine oil coolant lines that need replacing due to bad crimps, and said nothing about the steering issues. This video was just a breakdown of the different trim levels. K cool thanks for that already available info in about 100 other videos. No substance here.

Chevy has the worst interior of the big three. That would problely stop me from buying a chevy. Even so, the trail boss sounds interesting. I like the new body style, it does look good. 🤔

I think Trailboss is best looking on the road. That Nissan Titan thing is ugliest.
