I've had six Triumphs since 2003 and loved them all. I've got a 2018 Bonneville T120 now and it's just a great ride - loads of power, handles great and gets more attention than any Harley Davidson. Nothing against H-D - they make some great bikes, but if you want something different, easier to maintain and less expensive, Triumph is the way to go.

I am not into bikes and could probably be able to only tell the difference between the old and the new by the position of the gear shift to conform [I believe?] with American legislation.

Agree - the vintage Bonnevilles are a thing of beauty! They have a top speed of 130 mph with just a 650 cc engine. The drum brakes work just fine 😊

I've just recently bought a 2018 Bonneville T120, and it's very much like an old school bike. So easy to ride and and just like the ones I rode way back when - very modern, but very intuitive to ride. I love it. Loads of power and all the bells and whistles. I'm loving Triumph. It's my 5th one of the new (Bloor) generation.

The Norton Featherbed frame was not rubber mounted, that came with the Commando. Other than that, good to see a Triumph on the show. The new models of Speedmaster seem to be quite an improvement over the previous generation 865cc (900) version.

I just purchased a used 2016 Thruxston R (3,100 miles!) from my favorite dealer, BMW Burbank. I test rode the R ninet racer...counld not wait to get off that thing. Then I rode the Thurxston R...did not want to get off it! I am a die hard BMW Motorcycle guy, so this was shocking. The Speedster has 77 HP. Triumph pulled 97 HP out of the Thirxston. Plus Ohlin rear shocks and Showa big piston forks. All I can say is: the first Triumph motorcycle I rode I bought! If you haven't riden this one you must check it out! And, relaxed clip ons...The Gentleman's Race Bike.

I just went back and watched the 1964 Triumph video, and it got me thinking about all the bikes I've had over the years. I never got to ride a British bike back when I started riding in the early 80's, but I always wanted to. I did manage to put hundreds of thousands of miles on bikes though. Thanks for stirring up the memories. BTW, I had a thought about something that might enhance your video postings, you should let guests publish their own lists of vehicles owned. You wouldn't even need to talk about them explicitly, and could simply link to a short bio of the guest and their list. You might be surprised at what people have on their own lists.

I just bought a 2003 Speedmaster in September, 2019. Although it doesn't have all the modern gadgetry, it has the same riding profile. It is very very comfortable to ride. My longtime Harley rider friend really enjoyed riding it, as well. If/when I upgrade, I will be buying another Speedmaster.

I'm a few years out from my early 70s 911S, so I really enjoy these reviews even if they're "ads" as other commenters type out. This I can actually own. Like a modern Wrangler, there are a few monikers that 40somethings can tap into easily, and this is another. Thank you Jay and Triumph. Attainability is not an ugly word. Motor. Zoom. Enjoy.

Triumph have had to up their game but they have done it with style but not forgetting their core principles and design, Triumph like the Harley have remembered what makes people love their machines so they have not messed with that but have brought the bikes the innovations that increase reliability & safety but not removed those feelings you get when riding a superb comfortable machine.

And probably twice the cost too and might not be as much fun to ride either.I own a 2017 T120, riding all my life and my Bonneville is beyond more than fast, believe me. The BMW is more suited than the Bonnie to longer trips but that is a personal preference.

I've always been a Triumph Bonneville fan. This friend of mine had one and when we were in high school rather than parking it in the student parking lot he parked it in the auto shop parking area and I don't blame him. Much safer there. When school was over for the day and he would go and kick that thing over it was sheer music to my young little ears.

this is nice to see Jay featuring the new Triumph Water Cooled Classics. But the bike that most compares to his old Bonny is the T100 bonneville or the Street Twin, which I own. 440 pounds 900cc about 50 HP with likewise gobs of torque, it is a Triumph more in the classic 1960's mold. All these bikes have 270 degree cranks so alternate firing cylinders, unlike the vibration machines of the past with simultaneous firing cylinders. You can look at my channel Jay to see what I did with my Street Twin. By the way I'm 72, and my first Triumph was a 1965 Bonneville TT special made street "legal" I was also an 18 year old expert hehe.

I prefer the T100 for many reasons. I love the classic look/twin shocks and fit my six foot frame really well. I test rode the 900=street twin and liked the power weight ratio. I also test rode the bonny/1200 and did not like it as well. Heavy and boring to me. The T100 is for me.

DEaMON you have a new subscriber - me. The 180 degree firing order of the original and the first gen Hinckley Bonnevilles has the pistons moving up and down together but they don't fire together. While one is on the compression stroke the other is on the exhaust stroke. But I think you probably already knew that. (If they both fired together I guess it would be 360 degrees.) The 270 degree firing order has a very nice sound - not the sound of the classic British parallel twin but you get all that grunty torque. That Street Twin is a fantastic bike. When it comes time for me to retire my 2008 Bonnie (64,000 miles and going strong) it will be a tough choice between models if I get another Triumph.

Good to know. When I rode the classics in '13 I really wanted a Thruxton, but enjoyed the engine in the Scrambler so much more that I went searching on craigslist for a used Scrambler that I could turn into a Thruxton. During my search I found a Moto Guzzi V7 Cafe Classic and had to have it. No longer have a Triumph dealer nearby so now I have a Moto Guzzi V7III Carbon in the garage.

We're so lucky to be living in literally the Golden Age of motorcycle building. The stars have finally aligned for beautifully designed and built motorcycles. Even Harley's new Milwaukee Eights with their new (ducati) designed chassis are incredible!

Yes your 850 did have isolastic and it really did the job of damping the vibrations of that big parallel twin. Re handling, did you ever grab hold of the back wheel and the frame with the other hand and try moving the back wheel laterally? Amazing how much movement there was, and even more amazing that it handled at all.
