    Had an 18 CB1000R Full akra/rapidbike and it really opened up the bike. If it’s not tuned (rapidbike or ECU Woolich flash) the euro 4 kills it that’s why you’re feeling the power coming on late in the revs. Tune it and it’s a completely different power delivery!

    I just bought a used 2019 in red as my second bike coming from a CB500F. Holy hell does this thing rip. I don't notice any vibrations like he was mentioning in the video. What I have noticed is the stock rear shock is pretty crap but the forks are A ok. This makes the bike feel a little unstable in a corner especially if you're a bit heavier like chase and myself. A shock replacement is in the list of too dos. The power band is higher in the revs but, you still do not want to rip it in 1st in Sport or Normal mode, that front wheel will jump up in no time. Overall I'm in love with it and the beautiful design should stand up to the test of time.

    This is the perfect do everything bike for people who aren’t always trying to do wheelies. It can do them no problem but unlike the MT10 they won’t happen on accident 😂….. the mt10 I rode was rowdy af and super fun but not something I’d want to ride ever day. The CB1000R is definitely a every and could easily be my 1 and only bike. The MT10 and Speed Triple I feel like would make a good 2nd bik in he stable fo when you want to be a hooligan…… that’s jus my experience at least. Everyone has their own style of bike that’s best for them. All great bikes these days. Definitely a great time to be in the market to buy a bike.

    I'm REALLY thinking about this bike as a transition from a '19 Yamaha R6. Something more upright but retaining some sportbike feel. The price premium is a burn (if I go new) but I had a CBR600F4 nearly 20 years ago and that bike was quality so I like Honda. I need something more "commuter" friendly, where I can get a rear seat bag to bring lunches to work, vs my R6 thats just too narrow to have that there and since I'm already hugging the tank a tank bag is impractical. The rear swingarm is a nice touch and I actually do like the stock plate wheel hugger. Its unique, vs any sportbike tail mount where its a foot off the back.

    In response to changing modes/TC settings, there's no technological reason why you need to pull the clutch in. The different modes just give the computer different parameters such as how much slip the traction control allows, engine power output, etc. Clutch being engaged has nothing to do with that; most manufacturers have it as a safety precaution. While it may be theoretically easier for the computer to make these adjustments with the throttle closed, as Honda shows it can be on the fly.

  • @ETAFRanger

    @ETAFRanger

    3 жыл бұрын

    Ya, for some companies it's "Pull the clutch" for some it's "Close the throttle". The only practical reason for these measures is to try to create a situation where the bike's control systems can make adjustments without the risk of there being a sudden difference in throttle response while actually using the throttle. I guess it's theoretically possible that some bikes need a Zero throttle position to recalibrate it's action though.

    I have had a 2019 CB1000R for 20 months 5850 miles and would say RAIN - 1ST 2ND 3RD GEAR reduced power STANDARD - 1ST 2ND GEAR REDUCED POWER WITH A POWER BAND THAT SITS below SPORT: SPORT - 100% POWER IMMEDIATELY IN ALL GEARS. Vey easy to filter AS BARS ARE 790MM WIDE and you have excellent low speed control, best to use Standard in town as the FLY BY Wire throttle is sensitive using SPORT MODE. Very stable through corners due to 1440mm wheel base and 212kg wet weight. Comfortable to cruise at 80mph on the Highway. Good mid range to overtake. Power comes on 4,000 revs notable exhaust change 5,500 with a significant boost from 7,000. I am 184cms tall 31 inch inside leg (can flat foot) The changeable light is programmable to do different things hence different colours.Suspension for me works well I believe it is set on the factory setting; but is fully adjustable on the front forks and partially adjustable on the rear. As you said looks are to die for - I regularly have loads of positive comments. No issues with the bike. I hope that helps anyone thinking of this bike.

    any chance to see a review on the newer black edition? (wonder if some of the vibration is mods and/or wear/abuse?) also, I like the look of the black edition Honda is selling now. That’s my bike right there! This bike has quite a bit of vibration in the foot pegs and the handle bar after 6k rpm, but a very composed city bike. I try to ride mine a lot, and it’s pretty compact for a 1000cc naked. There are few things I would like. The engine has a weird horsepower dip between 5-7k and it’s pretty noticeable, secondly the dash scratches very easily and I got mine replaced under the warranty. However it is a Gorgeous bike; I got the cosmo red.

    I have this bike (2019) and the reason for the vibrations and weird sounds are the mods. It’s not.a slip on, but full exhaust with new headers and the cat’s been removed. And judging from what I’m seeing, the guy who owned it wasn’t exactly experienced (just look at those mirrors and lame front cover thing over the headlight - missing a bolt by the way). If you understand this bike and how it makes power, it’s VERY fast. It’s smooth at lower rpms (possibly too much so as you said), but after 5,000 it absolutely rips. Experienced owners can really exploit the power and it’s my favorite metric liter bike (although the Kawasaki H2 is up there).

    This is due to emissions control. With a tune the 4-6k taper is removed and the power is linear. The 4-6k rpm range you see about 20 hp and 20 ft lbs of torque gained in those ranges, and solid 8-10 whp gains just about everywhere in the power band. 4-6k rpm leans out big time on a AFR chart…

    Think about this, even for experienced riders, that slight delay in the onrush of power can also give you that split second you need to save your life in case you made a tactical error. A CBR1000rr won't give you that luxury of time.

    I’m debating between a cb1000r or cb650r they are practically the same price couple thousand different, if that price gap is a issue you shouldn’t be riding in first place imo you can’t afford it. That’s why I’m debating which would be better long term. They are like 60hp difference but the 1k has rider modes just cause it’s fast af don’t mean you have to ride it like that

    I have a 2020 cb1000r. Did a full black widow exhaust with a leovince flip on and the thing screams and sounds like an F1. Only thing that sucks on the bike is the fuel consumption. It’s terrible. I’m hope a tune flash will help improve the gaz mileage.

    I have this bike, got it tuned through woolich, made 140WHP on 91 and a BMC high flow filter. The stock bike has this weird dip, where it feels like it’s dying, but other than that, it’s an amazing bike, definitely a neck snapper wherever it goes.
