Damn Zanster just looks so good in game 1. I mean I kinda feel him because, just as he said he's doing not as good on the ladder and suddenly got invited, it must have been some great joy. He's just walking in with no psychological pressure whatsoever and have his share of fun. Also I gotta say I love how logical the European players play. They don't hesitate to throw down spine and spore just for precaution and they go ling bane hydra against the raven ghost just for the sake of the lings being good against ghosts. A lot of time you just see Korean zerg massed and viper broodlords cuz they just can't think of anything (Soo for example)

Really nice work by Zanster, wasn't expecting such a challenge for Maru Noregrets was also decent but talked over Artosis constantly with no filter. A lot of comments were just what a player should or shouldnt do as backseat gaming but for both guys i think it's a matter of experience. Zanster's decision making and strategy failed him but with time he could get to be real scary

These games didn't feel the same without the og tastosis combo

NoRegreT is seriously a really great caster. He's so authentic and knowledgeable. I think he's become my favorite after Tastosis. And of course he's siding with Zanster. He is staying in the same house and coaching him. Casters being emotionless robots would be pretty boring.

I respectfully disagree. Of course casters shouldn't be emotionless robots, but they shouldn't be as biased as NoRegret was in this game. It's the caster's job to commentate the game as objectively as possible. I don't mind slip-ups every now and then, but it feels like NoRegret didn't even try to be ojective. I completely agree that he's authentic and knowledgeable and I respect him for that, but it's very difficult to watch him constantly and verbally commentate against the player you're rooting for. I don't think it should be a decision between "being emotionless robots" and being completely biased like NoRegret is being in this game, but it should be a balance between the two. Tastosis is a great example of casters who try their best to be as objective as possible and yet not being completely emotionless robots.

Yea, I get what you mean. I guess you notice it more if it's against the player you're rooting for. Him being an amateur casting a friend's important match probably makes it hard to not be biased. If NoRegreT is going professional though, he definitely should be more objective.

I think NoRegret could have given more of the Terran perspective, but it wasn't a big deal. I don't think he has to be "objective" - that doesn't bother me as long as it isn't overboard. But I did enjoy his casting in any case.

There's always way more comments about the casters than the actual games themselves. Lmao. And I personally didn't mind them praising Zanster the whole match. I mean, he's up against the defending champ and actually held him well until very late game both times. Great games and good casting.

The thing I love about NoRegret is that he's actually brains behind Scarlett and Neeb's success. He may not be one of the best players but he's proven himself to be one of the best coaches. In fact the Scarlett's builds are designed under the tutelage of NoRegret. When Neeb won his premier Korean tournament he stayed at Scarlet and NoRegret's gaming house.

No, horrible biased commentators. Both of them aren't objective and are commenting from Zanster's point of view - e.g. commenting "Nice move by Zanster", "That sucks for Zanster", instead of the corresponding "This is bad for Maru", "That's good for Maru" for the same situation. There's a lot of Zanster-sympathy from the commentators and not enough credit being given to Maru, when Maru is clearly the better player apart from a few slip-ups.

NoRegret is awesome for not actually being a full time caster. People don't seem to understand this fact.

It's not that Zanster were that good, it was only because Maru's games are all over the place, they can research those for his benefits, while Zanster's games...welp, not so much. Btw, Maru also starts from bottom, hes not immediately this good, I remember when Maru were still a new comer in GSL, back when Flash and Innovation were still reigns over Terran. But I see Maru has adaptive nature that both Flash and Innovation doesn't, probably since he is a new breed and SC Broodwar doesn't affects him much.

Wait a second, was he wearing a Carhart beanie? No way... Where I'm from Carhart is a way of life... In New England, Carhart is the only clothing that u actually get your moneys worth out of, respect for repping THAT Dear!! P.S. I don't like seeing one caster poop on the other, under any circumstances...

Well, I´m no doctor but what the comments are suffering from seems to be bitchy Maru fanboys. NoRegret did a good job casting and I appreciate the technical inside. Also, Zanster played two great games.

Can you both please comment more objectively, instead of commenting everything from Zanster's point of view? The Zanster bias is very obvious here, and it's very unprofessional of casters to actively support one player over another - especially casters for an official channel/organisation. Is it because you all identify with Zanster, probably because he is a "foreigner" (and likely of the same race as you)?

Well, probably yes - and so what? Why the fuck you guys always end up with some "races issue" shit? It's totally OK for a non-Korean casters to support a new player, who is making great against one of the best Terrans in the world. Same situation with almost every Korean vs Foreigner match ups, it's natural to support a catching up side.

Maru is pretty heavily favored in this match. It's pretty normal for casters to try and hype up underdogs and be heavy with applause when they do anything noteworthy. If it has anything to with Foreign vs Korean, then it's because foreigners suck in comparison, thus again, an underdog thing and not a race thing.

Agree. It's very unprofessional of casters to support one player over another, be it because he's the underdog, or because he's a "foreigner" (or maybe even because he's of the same race as the casters) in SC2 terms.

If you had objective casters, then this whole thing would be "well, we're just gonna sit here and wait for Maru to win. He's gonna win this unless he falls asleep." Instead, the casters try to hype anything the underdog does that even slightly good. Even in their comments for Zanster there is acknowledgement of Maru's skill when they say things like "Zansters creep spread is really nice especially against Maru who is typically attacking everywhere and destroying people"

Micheal Corser Objective =/= Emotionless. Just look at Tastosis casting, that's a perfect example of casters who are full of emotion and try their best to be objective. I really don't think it's a "cheering for the underdog" thing because you don't see this level of bias from NoRegret in other games like Maru vs Dear. I don't get why people have this idea that you can't be objective and full of emotion at the same time, it's not mutually exclusive.

noregret casting (considering he just started doing it here) is million times enjoyable than tasteless - even if cheering 4 zanster - helps to get a feel in his situation - against maru...come on, its fun - also this way artosis is balanced back to focus to actual game, not memories or go total offtopic for a minute as he does with tasteless - for me that was big turn down recently - but all is subjective...have fun! gg & gg!

I find the offtopic stuff really fun and enjoyable. The way I see it, I'd like to have a whole spectrum of "types" of casters/caster duos. It's important to have ultra-technical casters in the community as well as casters who are just fun and spontaneous. Seeing as the majority of casters don't follow the tastosis style, I'm really glad that they exist
