    Yes, I don't understand when customers do this kind of thing, especially when I tell them that it might not be the component it may seem like it is...(transmission in this case) I guess google and impatience gets the better of them and their pockets. Thank you for watching.

    Thanks for this I had the p1807. Actuator B. I ordered 2. First I switched them cleared coded and it worked. When parts came in I changed both. No relearn, I had my foot on the brake and went through the gear position. Then I did a mild test drive for 20 mins then longer. Important to run AC and head lights.

    I am not sure off hand, but they are interchangeable but what you can also do is unplug one and read the code and see which one it is calling for being missing.

    Awesome video and explanation. I have a 2012 with a P17C1 code ( clutch 1 actuator error) Swapped the actuators with no luck, got a new actuator, still the same code. Replaced the TCM with one from a junkyard, both actuator don't work. Put back the original TCM, still same code.Try relearn and it's says that failed to completed. Could it be the TCM?

  • @DTEAuto

    @DTEAuto

    I would venture to say yes, it seems that it's still a tcm issue if both actuators are known good working condition, obviously the new actuator has to replace the bad one you already have moved to the second location

    Hi, my Veloster has 75K miles and It didnt go into drive or reverse, then i opened hood went into car and boom it started working again, I thought everything was ok because on way home it shifted smoothly and ect...... I went out to store again and same thing happened except this time check engine light came on???? SMH. As im typing i am gonna see if i can pull some codes(its one of those readers you plug in and have an app on phone).

    Nice video, brother! I have a problem with mine too. It doesn’t shift at all lol, so I need to use the Shift release every freaking time. Already checked the brake switch and it was perfect, then I went and bought a new whole shift, installed it and the same problem. Funniest part: after I drive at least 45 min, shift starts to work again. Replacing the TCM would help me? Help me man, I have already lost hope lol

    You would have to get it scanned to see if any codes related to the issue pop up. And would have to check the wiring to the interlock solenoid

    Hi! I currently have a 2017 turbo automatic transmission and my vehicle was working perfectly fine until yesterday afternoon when I went to turn it on it made a thumping noise and I let it warm up put in reverse and it didn’t reverse but it would go forward. I haven’t topped off the transmission fluid or had the time to do an oil change just yet but I’m a week late on the oil change . What would you recommend my next step to be?

    Hey, obviously it is difficult for me to say what is going on with it, but first steps would be to try and get a trouble code and kinda go from there with looking up some info on it.

    I’m confused about the readings. There was 0 ohms resistance through the actuators? Plz explain what i missed lol

  • @DTEAuto

    @DTEAuto

    Жыл бұрын

    You definitely did not miss anything, I was puzzled too when I took the readings, but after the first reading I just wanted to see what the second one showed, and all I had to go with was factory service information that states the readings needed to be the same for both actuators. I never did get a chance to dive into the internal workings of these motors to answer the why in reading was zero ohms.

    I believe I´m having the same problem with my 2018 Sportage with a D7UF1 transmission. My mechanic put in a new clutch because of juddering and got a P0921 code afterwards. Only even gears engage (R, 2, 4, 6) now. What I didn´t understand is if there are two TCMs. Is there one for clutch A (odd gears) and another for clutch B (even gears) or just a harness for each that goes to the same TCM? Also, if I install a another TCM, how do we make sure it doesn´t short again?

  • @DTEAuto

    @DTEAuto

    Жыл бұрын

    There would be one actual TCM, and two clutch actuators. You would have to swap over the actuators to see if you now gain the odd number gears, and if so, then replace the actuator first and see if you get all gears back, if not, the TCM has been damaged but once the faulty actuator has been found and replaced you are now safe to replace the TCM. The actuator failure is what damaged my TCM in the video. Hope this helps

    I need help with my transmission but this is what happened I was just sitting in my car and so out of no where it made a clunking noise for a second and then it sounds like something was moving in the transmission and so it won’t move in reverse and it stays in first gear but won’t shift to second but if a high enough rev it’ll kinda catch on second but seems like it won’t move but my shift indicator blinks and then it went into safe mode so I’m not sure what’s going on

    Hello, sorry I’m disturbing your time, got a TCM from another car, it now shows a different code, is there a possibility that the new code p1807 is a code from the other car or do you think learning can solve this, the car can now enter reverse, and D too, scared to do a test drive since we havnt done the relearn yet, we don’t have the tool.

  • @DTEAuto

    @DTEAuto

    Жыл бұрын

    Hey, it is very possible that the code is from the previous vehicle that it came out of. The code is for clutch position sensor B circuit low, that is internal to the actuator motor, if the code does not clear you can move the actuator from the front to the top and see if code switches over to clutch position sensor A. If it does, then you would need to replace the actuator motor and be ok from there. But if it is from old car TCM came out of, you should be ok

    Hyundai takes care of this under warranty. I am the second owner of a Kona with the same transmission. My car won't go into reverse and only second gear works. I took it to a local dealership and with in an hour I had a loaner and was on my way. It's been over a month because the transmission is currently not available. Hyundai contacted me and offered to buy back my car for what I paid and give me a loan for a brand new car.
