    When you absolutely, positively have to depend on your vehicle to get you somewhere you buy a toyota tacoma or 4Runner. Failure free.

    I've watched this commercial over dozens of times now. Showing what this truck can do in such a harsh environment is a true testiment to the quality of Toyota vehicles. Now, I'm proud to say that my first ever Toyota is a 2017 Tacoma TRD Off Road. No longer will I be living vicariously through these videos. I've made a dream come true. Tacoma family...I'm proud and excited to join y'all and "Let's Go Places!"

    It's great to see Toyota truly focusing on the mechanics of these TRD Pro vehicles, not just cosmetics. It's also great to see that Fox suspension components finally made the cut! I have a Fox 2.5" coil-over performance suspension set on my '13 Tacoma, and the build quality is impressive. Nice one, Toyota!

    I did a baby version of this. When i bought my 2017 tacoma trd pro in pennsylvania, i did so knowing i would get to drive it back to florida. I drove it about 1,400 miles total that weekend, and not a single hiccup. Drove it through snow, rainstorms, and iced roads. The truck performed beautifully in stock form. Very happy with my purchase.

  • @Terminxman

    @Terminxman

    8 жыл бұрын

    +plague1313 Yeah, I have one and the 3.5L has enough power. It won't win many races but it definitely has enough balls. However, mid-size trucks nowadays are pretty big (my stock TRD OR 4x4's hood sits higher than a co-worker's '05 silverado 1500) and it really does need a diesel or something. Also there is a fine line that they are walking where a bigger displacement engine would probably get equal or better MPG. A big displacement engine (like the GM 5.3) doesn't have to work hard at all to move a vehicle and gets pretty decent MPG. A small displacement engine has to work harder so the MPG gain is negligible.

    This is a great video of what appears the next great truck to hit the market already prebuilt to take a relatively solid beating. It ALMOST makes me want to trade in my built, supercharged/ mid travel'ed out 2nd Gen, but then I look at mine and realize what a total curb stomper, dune hopper it already is and the fact that I have put a blower on it. Which ultimately stops me. Mine is more monster for the same price this will be, so I think I'll hang on to mine! I can't wait to see these out on the road, however.

    +Roberto Sanchez I know exactly what you mean! I have a first gen, supercharged with a 2 inch lift (from stock) and I've debated upgrading every new model, but when I look under the body nothing (major) has changed the since the 2nd gen, plus no supercharger support, drum brakes in 2016, heavier truck and a price tag of $45K puts it in Raptor money. Great thing is that the old Tacoma's last so damn long by the time mine dies the Tacoma will probably be on it's 10th gen...

My 2014 carmy only started with a battery charger and a block heater at work, i had the block heater plugged in the entire day.... I work at MSP airport so the parking lot is exposed to the full force of the wind. It was horrible those days and my car didnt even want to start but it did.... Needless to say, il be upgrading to the tacoma in a few years because im sick of not being able to get through the snow....

    Too bad I already bought a 4runner turd pro. Awesome truck. Glad to see Toyota not only builds reliable vehicles now but also interesting ones.

    I wonder how many times the camera crew had to tow them out lol. "You don't need a block heater". Yeah shut it off for a night or two and tell me that lol.

    Keep in mind these guys are pretty good drivers. I'm sure I'd have gotten stuck, but you never know with these guys. The right driver can take anything just about anywhere haha

    +filthytaco I always find Toyota to be boring with their Camry, Prius, Mirai, and Corolla but Toyota SUV/Truck segment is legendary and badass looking. Love the 4runner look from every model year.

    +thehotsung8701A couldn't agree more! To me the current Tacoma is the most muscular looking truck out there!

    filthytaco The 4 runner is the last of the true mid-size off-road capable SUV, though it was always the only one unless you count Jeep.... I also hate how modern SUV are like cross-over now. I have an 02 CRV (box shape) and it look so much better than modern cross-over CRV which also has less interior space as well. Honda sold out with the Pilot, Toyota still keeping to their root. The 4runner look like it crying for it competition because it will leave them in the dust! I didn't really like the 2016 Tacoma believe it or not. It was the best looking but I wanted the non-U.S alternative version of the Tacoma, the Hilux (last gen, not current one) cause I like having the sport bar and because Hilux was seen in Top Gear and had a better side profile as well but then I saw this Tacoma and now it no longer a competition. I always like American trucks cause they are badass looking (but poor performance) like the new Raptor, 1500, and Ram Hemi and never really care for Tacoma until now. Now if only they gave it a V8 Diesel drool!
