Anyone thinking about owning one of these pieces of shit, better think real long and hard about an extended warranty. Just pop the hood and look at the abundance of cheap f'ing plastic everywhere! You would think for a $100k+ car that getting 5 or 6 years out of it before it needs thousand in repairs would be do-able, but not with Porsche! This car company is the king of cheapening a product to the point of it being total utter crap! I should have known better too. Just look at Porsches track record on engine reliability. The first generation Cayenne had numerous design defects, cheap plastic coolant pipes, scored cylinders that ruin the engine and require a replacement. Not to mention the abundance of cheap plastic components that constantly break or fail because of heat cycling. The second generation Cayenne isn't much different either. If you bought one of the early 2011s or 2012s Porsche used aluminum bolts for the cam adjusters which were known to break and grenade the engine. Oh and coil packs! WTF! Why can't the germans design a set of coil packs that last longer than 50k miles? Last I checked the 955 series Cayenne is on their 20th something revision of these things and they are still f'ing garbage! If you happen to own one of the V6 GTS's like pictured here... guess what?! Yep, these idiots decided to use aluminum bolts for the timing chain cover just like they did with the cam adjuster screws in the 2011 Turbos. Yep, these aluminum bolts end up breaking causing a massive leak on the 3.6L TT engine. Can you guess what the remedy is to fix it? Total engine removal! Imagine plumping down over 100k on one of these turds and by 30k miles its leaking as much oil as it is using. I'm I pissed off Cayenne owner? Yep! Would I buy another one of these cheap plastic turds? Hell f'ing no! If you're buying a Porsche because the magazines claim they're reliable as a Lexus, you will be quite disappointed! I guess you don't become the most profitable car company in the world by building quality cars!

I couldn't agree more! I purchased a Cayman GT4 back in 2016 and paid over sticker for it. On the car's 3rd track event the shock tower failed and Porsche wouldn't cover it under warranty. Later I had found shock tower failures were pretty common for all GT series cars. In all of the years that I have done track events, I have never seen a shock tower failure on any car until now! My wife wanted a new Cayenne and I was apprehensive because of our GT4 experience. It looks things haven't changed over at Porsche! Pass!
